Outside World

It's the final instalment in the Second Run series! It's been a big year for a lot of us. Here's one moment that helped me through and is steadying myself for 2022. 

This fourth instalment in the Second Run series was meant to sound a little different to this. We'll be back to somewhat regular programming next week though.

That strange old week between Christmas and New Years is where the magic happens. My oldest mate Ali ventured down to Melbourne with her partner Paul and their baby boy, Theo. We hung out in the park, exchanged presents and gosh it was great to see them all. 

It's a quick return to form in the Outside World podcast feed before we launch into another short run of bonus episodes exploring the year that was and where the hell to next.

It's the final episode of this mini Melbourne Lockdown Bonus run. It's been a wild time this daily audio making and to be honest, I'm looking forward to getting back into a slightly more regular sleep pattern (it's currently 1:17am 🙃). 

With Melbourne moving into a slightly eased lockdown-lite version of existence, hopefully we'll all be able to regain some kind of normalcy. Thank you to those of you that have tuned in each day - despite the late nights, it genuinely has been fun not knowing what I'm making until it's made. It was a wild time to set myself a creative task each day, but it's been worth it.

It's hopefully the final ever lockdown zoom call! With news of the lockdown easing, my mum and dad, my best mate and her mum had a chat about what we reckon.

One of the things I wanted to do in this run was to document the experiences of other folk who seem to have navigated this pandemic different to most. On today's episode, an old friend of mine, Gemma Bastiani talks through last years lockdown compared to this one, the work/life balance myth, and fainting on a train.

This lockdown seems to have induced some wild nostalgia. So, I spent this evening trawling through my old Evernote to find bits of writing I did years ago that attempt to speak to the weird in-between time of now. I found something called You Know All The Reasons, and I played with the form a little.
