About John Jepson:  With over 25 years of coaching experience, John has built a dynasty in Campbell River through soccer.  The Carihi Secondary soccer program has competed in a multitude of Island finals, Provincials and have toured globally.

Born Manchester, England, John played as a semi-professional in England. He has a Canadian National B Soccer licence, is a coach of past Provincial Champions at men's, women's, boy's, and girl's levels, and has led Carihi to 14 Provincial Championship appearances.

She discusses how we can use our story to change our habits, as well as how to incorporate mindfulness and the Narrative Pivot Tool within this process.

About Sharon Kelly:  Sharon Kelly (MA, BCC, PCC) offers coaching to people in BC and across North America through her business (Successful Transitions) and is both a professor at VIU and Success Coach in VIU’s Student Success Coaching Program. She created both the Success Coaching program at VIU and her coaching business 4 years ago.  

Her people development career began over 30 years ago but her coaching skills were formalized through achieving the designation of Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coach Federation (ICF) and Board Certified Coach (BCC) (3371) designation with the Center for Credentialing and Education.

Sharon’s educational background includes an MA from the University of Alberta and Life Coach and Wellness Coach training through the Institute for Life Coach Training (ILCT). Most recently Sharon became an Enhanced Practitioner in Narrative Coaching with Dr. David through WBECS (World Business and Executive Coaches Summit).

About Jamie Dunnett, BscPT, DPT:  Jamie graduated from UBC with an undergrad degree in physiotherapy in 2005 and then went on to complete a transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine in 2015. His clinical practice, based in Nanaimo, focuses on the rehabilitation of patients who have sustained concussions and inner ear disorders. He teaches continuing education courses for rehabilitation professionals on the topics of concussion management and vestibular rehabilitation. Jamie is proud to be the President of the Board of Directors of the Nanaimo Brain Injury Society.

In this episode: PacificSport VI's Athlete and Coach Services Coordinator,  Kevin Lindo speaks with Erin Burrett about the ‘running mentality’, the challenges young female athletes face, and how inspiring others plays a role in her life.

About Erin Burrett: Hailing from Nanaimo, BC she won the 2015 GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon in her debut at the distance. She finished in the time of 2:39:17 and finished ahead of the very experienced marathoner and pre-race favourite Lioudmila Kortchaguina of Toronto. Burrett sped past her with just 400-metres remaining in the race.  Burrett grew up competing in track and field and has always dabbled in running; however, the Victoria marathon represented a significant breakthrough for her. Erin is also two time winner at the Nanaimo Sport Achievement Awards.

About Geoff Hackett:  Geoff has a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology from the University of Windsor and recently earned professional designation with the Canadian Sport Psychology Association. He is an active member of the soccer community on Vancouver Island, playing goalkeeper for the Nanaimo United Football Club’s Division 1 men’s team. Geoff also works for Nanaimo United Football Club as their U11-U18 Head Coach, and is a well-established goalkeeper coach, committing countless hours to developing the position at a youth level.
