Dr. Storms will discuss the importance of palliative care and discuss why it is important to not only focus on the physical aspects of pain management but to address the psychological issues of a patient as well.

Dr. Storms earned his medical degree from Universidad Panamericana Medical School. He then performed his internship and residency at Jacobi Medical Center- Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He then went on to complete a Palliative Medicine Fellowship at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Storms' major areas of research interest include influenza virus seasonality, surveillance for influenza viruses in international settings, epidemiology of human infections with animal-origin influenza viruses, and access and quality of end-of-life-care services for ethnic minorities.

Susan Enguídanos, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Gerontology at the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology at the University of Southern California. Enguídanos has a multidisciplinary background evident in her educational and professional history. She obtained her BA in psychology at UCLA, master’s degree in public health at California State University, Long Beach, and doctoral degree in social work at USC.
