#142: Danceology of Hip Hop with Clyde Evans, Jr.
Clyde Evans, Jr. is the Director of Education at the International Museum of Dance and a Hop Hop instructor at Drexel University. He joins us to talk about an amazing project he recently presented called the "Danceology of Hip Hop," an attempt to codify the evolution of Hip Hop dance expression. Part of this work involved creating 3D volumetric recordings of several dance moves that you can learn via AR! Open the links listed below on your phone! This was a fantastic conversation that epitomized our mission at the JAG to explore the "intersection of the arts and technology."

#141: The Best Gelato in Jenkintown
Carminati Creamery makes delicious gelato from scratch and their long-awaited Jenkintown location just opened in Yorkway Place. The PIC stopped by, ate some gelato, and have some thoughts. We remember the history of Carminati in Jenkintown from its humble beginnings as a Summer Music Series gelato cart to the pandemic hustle of home delivered cold treats, to the Glenside location, and finally now back home to one of the coolest areas of town. Plus, updates on Jenkintown 150 events, Chrissie's yoga studio, and the story of how a pallet of floor tiles destroyed Steve's shoulder. It's a short and sweet episode. Listen to it while you walk to Carminati Creamery for some gelato!

#140: A Soundtrack of Togetherness With Joe Montone
Joe Montone has been bringing live music to communities for over 14 years. With a soon-to-be-launched nonprofit called Stage United on the horizon and the third year producing the Abington Art Center's Summer Concert Series about to begin, Joe is making waves in the regional live music and performance scene. In this episode, we talk about concerts, air guitar competitions, the amazing Tile Works venue, creating a nonprofit, and more. Joe is doing fantastic things for the Doylestown and Jenkintown/Abington communities and we think you'll be as excited as we were to learn what cool events he has cooking this summer. You'll want to watch until the end for a fun A Game Called Something that will finally reveal why Steve would be a terrible Walmart greeter.

#135: Exploring Vision Pro With Kotaro Fujita
The Vision Pro has officially launched and who better to discuss it and the new "spatial computing" era than friend of the pod, Kotaro Fujita. In this episode we attempt to answer two important questions: What is Vision Pro and What can you do with it? We discuss what it's like to use the product, what software will be available at launch, and what new kinds of experiences early adopters may be able to try out. We also explore whether Vision Pro and devices like it could lead to even more device-centric isolation and the special parenting concerns that come with yet another digital distraction in a developing child's life. We also speculate out loud about how "AI" tools and "spatial computing" may complement each other in future devices. Near the end, we go on some amusing tangents describing the experiences of explaining to kids what life was like in the "old days" of home phones and Blockbuster video. There are some great insights in this episode for anyone wondering what all the Vision Pro excitement is about.
For a a more technical discussion with Kotaro about Vision Pro from a developer's perspective, check out episode #58 of the Side Project Spotlight podcast when it is released. Links below!

#131: How to Survive an Alien Invasion
The PIC saw some UFOs! Really! After discussing the lights in the sky and since Steve can't stop thinking about the Hulu movie, "No One Will Save You," he thought it would be fun to try to poorly explain the plot to Chrissie in order to learn some tips for surviving the apparently imminent alien invasion of Jenkintown. Along the way, Steve kind of reviews the film, but mostly it's just Chrissie being confused while Steve rants and raves and it's all pretty entertaining (hopefully)! The movie WILL BE SPOILED! #122: Across The Spider-Verse Movie Review
JAG Cast | Episode #122
This week, Chrissie & Steve see a movie! At the time this is published, Chrissie is on vacation, but before she left, the PIC recorded this review of the latest Spider-Verse movie after seeing it at Jenkintown's own Hiway Theater. Steve didn't hate it, but didn't really like it that much either and it made him temporarily color blind. Chrissie really liked Spider-Punk and the hip-hop music. Both thought the movie was two pee breaks too long. But, Gwen fighting in ballet shoes almost made the whole thing worth it. Minor spoilers!

#120: Making Art on an iPad With Kotaro Fujita
JAG Cast | Episode 120
The PIC are back and the pod gets a new name! We welcome returning friend of the show, Kotaro Fujita to this inaugural JAG Cast to talk about creating digital art, especially with iPads. Learn about Kotaro's journey to become the amazing app designer/developer he is today. There is some fun reminiscing about app design trends, the original Sim City game, and the early days of the iPad. The discussion then goes in more depth on specific tools that can be used to create static art, animation, and even get something into the App Store. Don't miss the links this week! Finally and expectedly, a rousing A Game Called Something goes off the rails with tangents about identifying the nature of Grimace the purple McDonald's mascot as well as unironically using the phrase, "touching grass." We're getting better at this video thing! I think.
