Roxy & The USS: Songwriting, Short Term Memory Loss & Memorable Moments in Music.
These conversations can always go off the beaten path, but sometimes, that's what makes each episode, especially this one, even more interesting and special. This has been yet another episode I've been looking forward to as an artist and a fan, but I feel like I still didn't tap into everything that is Roxy from Roxy & The Underground Soul Sound.
We touch on memorable music moments in her career, dream collaborations, and plenty of funny stories over the course of this episode. Since NSCC, I've been keeping tabs on Roxy and her journey and it has been nothing short of amazing to watch. If you have never been to a live show or checked out her/their music, I highly recommend, especially the live show because from personal experience, it was a great time and the energy & vibe is amazing!
Be sure to check out the FULL episode, in either audio or video from!

Natasha Legay: Building Community, Support for the Culture, and Stay Forever.
Since she was a teen, this woman has been involved with, supported deeply and brought a different feel to the live and hip-hop scene here on the East Coast. From taking photos to just being a familiar face in the crowd, she's been a driving force of selfless support from the jump.
A lot of these episodes are moments for me, and a lot of "if you didn't know, you should" guests have been a part of this wonderful platform I've been loving build from the ground up. I think that's why I've been wanting to share an episode and have Natasha Legay on an episode to show the scene, you don't have to be a major player to make an impact on the culture or community you love supporting. This was a great conversation with an essential element of any thriving industry, support. Also had the pleasure of chatting with Natasha about the "Stay Forever" event in Toronto, the weekend of Feb 25-26 and how things rolled out. Got to hear some great stories as well as talk relations with the reason behind the event, Pat Stay. Long Live Pat Stay.

Hermitofthewoods: PHD, Education in Hip-Hop and Music Archives.
Don't underestimate his artist name and moniker, Hermitofthewoods, although if you pay close enough attention to this weeks episode, you may just find out why Michael McGuire is Hermitofthewoods.
This episode was a must, giving flowers where flowers are due, yet again. Although our relationship may not be as close, the relevance and support that this man brings to our Halifax and even East Coast Hip-Hop scene is nothing short of noteworthy. This conversation was one for the books and one that deserves a part 2...let me know if you agree!

Unko Catfish: Potato Salad Radio Show Days, the Inspiration Behind it and How it all Began...
If you know, you know, and if you don't, well, here's your chance for a re-up.
The Halifax Hip-Hop & Rap scene was heavily dependent and reliant on one radio show that was always down for an interview, as long as you could hold your own. A host that has been welcoming from the jump, one that made this radio show such a welcome mat for meeting so many other artists and performers in the city. A host that has given a platform to so many artists with the main aspect of being a fan. A host that made me feel like...well I don't wanna give away the whole interview...just know that David Dahms, Unko Catfish, Odysseus, no matter how you know him and what you know him as, this man right here opened a lot of doors and introduced a lot of artists to the city, to radio, and to their first radio show.
This episode was a must, giving flowers where flowers are due, this man helped paved the way for local radio in Halifax with independent artists.

Bowen VOK: Talking Industry, Local Support & A Trip To Remember To SXSW.
Being able to sit down and chat with this man has been something that has been long overdue and one on my checklist. Nothing short of experiences, stories and noteworthy gems are dropped throughout this entire conversation with the homie Bowen VOK. An episode worth taking in Front to Back! You won't want to miss any of the details and if you've been part of the culture and scene, especially here in Nova Scotia, the relatability factor only increases.
A blessing being able to have some time to chat with Bowen and if you're looking for him across all platforms, @bowenvok is where you'll get all you need!

Mitchell Bailey & DJ Hotcue: The AirBnB & The Grilled Cheese.
While I was in Sydney, NS for Nova Scotia Music Week, I had planned on recording plenty of 30ish minute podcasts, which ended up not happening...
Instead, take a trip with me to our AirBnB where Mitchell Bailey and DJ Hotcue take part in a lengthy discussion that includes: the ideal grilled cheese, chopped cheese, career goals and direction, relationships, life, NSMW performances and how things were almost sabotaged by accident?
This episode contains a wide range of content but great conversation topics nonetheless and with a future media mogul and journalist himself, Mitchell Bailey.
Although the concept of the episode was initially meant to detail events of the weekend at Music Week, it was relieving to not follow a typical format and let the conversation create its own path and journey and simply go with the flow.

Daniel of The Goodbye Summer: Reconnecting, Reminiscing, and More New Music Ahead.
What may have started out as a shared business class at Memorial University of Newfoundland, turned into an even bigger shared interest for music.
Daniel Hornell is the lead singer of pop-punk group The Goodbye Summer. I got to sit down and chat with Daniel about their latest album release "The Summer I Left Home", which you can stream right here: https://songwhip.com/thegoodbyesummer/the-summer-i-left-home
Reconnecting with someone is always a great conversation but makes the journey of discovery even better. From where his music journey began, his transition from hip-hop to pop-punk to even Dan flipping the conversation upside down and interviewing me at one point, seeing his general interest in the scene, in my journey and being intrigued by each and every question, makes episodes like this something I truly look forward to.
To get all of the details and everything that's in the plans for The Goodbye Summer, beside to check the FULL episode!

Conversation w/ Baseline (@baseline2k)
I know I said this dude has been around for a minute, but don't let that deter you from getting bars, flow, and rhyme schemes like no other on the East Coast. Baseline has been a force to be reckoned with and is coming with a NEW ALBUM in the near future.
We talk music, dad life, and just the way music has moved and changed over the years. He explains why it's important and why it's essential for the music to be a driving force in his daily life, and of course what inspires it all & MUCH MORE!!!
Be sure to check out his latest music video "Long Way" on YouTube, this dude breaks down lyricism, not to mention his rhyme scheme and flow are on POINT. Check it out below:
Conversation w/ Hollow Visions (@whereishollow)
After taking a week hiatus to get things in order, I bring you the very first international episode of POAP!
This is a dope interview where we got to touch on a lot of different social issues but at the same time catch up with the homie Hollow Visions. Got to find out Hollow Visions' view on the music scene, travel and keeping a tight knit group to stay successful.
This dude is making moves and with his involvement in "East of the River", Los Angeles and the West Coast definitely have a movement that is big enough to make some major waves.
Be sure to check out his latest music video "Ego" on YouTube, it's truly a dope collaboration with extremely talented artists like Bonnie Blue & Kiddo. Check it out below:
Conversation w/ Robbie G (@robbieg.hiphop)
This week's episode of Party on a Podcast got a little more interesting and definitely veered a little off course as far as the traditional Q&A style of interview.
Robbie G allowed the conversation to be just that, a conversation; free-flowing and smooth, as it should be. Although the OCD inside me got a little thrown off and taken on a trip, a level of appreciation for this style of episode came from it's abnormality. While normal questions and answers were still had, they were delivered in this episode more as just topic of conversation. Which, as you'll hear, allows myself to become more vocal in the episode. With the usual focus on the interviewee, having this be more conversation based, allowed me to be asked questions as well.

Interview w/ D.O. Gibson (@iamdogibson)
So I've been meaning and planning on talking to this dude for quite some time now and finally had the opportunity! He's been a knowledgable resource in my books for a few years and I'm super stoked he had some time to hope on an episode of Party on a Podcast.
D.O. Gibson is a mogul in the hip-hop scene in Canada and has made his stamp known. He has not only put out music, but has also managed to turn that into books and even motivational speaking. As someone who has tried the motivational speaking, this guy is definitely someone I look up to a lot in the industry.
Interested to know more about D.O.? Or at least find out what we got to talk about, check the FULL interview right here!

Interview with DJ Hotcue (@djhotcue)
This one goes WAYYY back! I've known this guy for over 7 years and we've travelled, performed and worked together ever since. DJ Hotcue has become well known in the DJ community in Nova Scotia, and is on pace to be a household name for years to come.
This episode was a great time for me to catch up and really see where his head is at during this COVID time, especially since everything went to live-streaming. With this being the FIRST DJ on POAP, I'm stoked that Hotcue could be the first one!
Be sure to check out all of his socials right here: https://linktr.ee/djhotcue
And be on the look out for much more from this hardworking DJ VERY SOON!

Interview with Craig Moss (@craigbmoss)
Without a doubt, this was a much needed and insightful interview with a good friend and colleague.
Although Craig Moss is a coworker of mine, that's not the reason he was on POAP. Craig is in fact one of the first streamers I had the pleasure of meeting and knowing, and now interviewing. I wanted to make sure I included all forms of creation and all creators, and this includes streaming, more specifically Gaming on Stream on Twitch! We covered a wide range of topics, from inspirations, to origin story, to music and everywhere in between.
Let me know what you think and give Craig a follow on his socials:

Interview with Mitchell Bailey (@mitchellbailey7)
Knowing that I'd be stuck using zoom calls for podcast episodes, I knew this episode was one I wanted to make sure happened. With that being said, this allowed me the ultimate pleasure of reconnecting with a super dope human being and friend by the name of Mitchell Bailey.
Since his early teens, Mitchell has been progressing at a rate like no other in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, especially the East Coast.
Between reminiscing on older times, meet-ups and talking about why podcasts are booming and are some of the most important conversations to have in today's generation.
Check it out right here! This is a longer one but a MUST listen, especially for all the Mitchell Bailey fans out there!
Interview with My BFF Jacob (@mybestfriendjacob_)
We live in different times, especially over this past year. I've had to adapt my interviews into Zoom Calls, and this allowed me the ultimate pleasure of chatting with a super dope individual by the name of My Best Friend Jacob. From his early days as a rapper to production and sound design, we cover a wide range of topics.
Check it out right here!
Interview with Chris Searl (@christofski)
Routine?!?! A little longer of an episode but this week we really dove into the questions to get a deeper understanding of Chris Searl, his home life, his podcast (My Name is Searl) and his views on music, how it's changed and much more. After knowing someone for so long, conversation doesn't get boring, and it truly opens the flood gates to genuine discussion. Tune in and see what we get into!
Interview with Advocates of Truth (@advocatesofficial.1)
Had the pleasure and honour to interview an afro-fusion duo by the name of Advocates of Truth. Sitting down with these guys, I started to learn more and more about their craft, drive and way of life. It didn't take long to find out why these two really love music AND why they are so passionate about their craft. These interviews allow me to get to know artists on a more personal level and I think you'll find that came out quite easily with these two.
Interview with Jeffrey (@pajamapantsjeffrey)
Take a listen as we dive into the origin story and much more with the homie and extremely talented artist, songwriter and movie connoisseur, Jeffrey (IG: @pajamapantsjeffrey). Talking inspirations, sports and much more, check it out now!
Industry Talk with a New Co-Host?
While it's been super dope hosting this podcast on the solo tip, bringing in a best friend and homie to upgrade this show was a must. Welcome Jeffrey to the Podcast fam and check out our conversations, from industry talk, to local scene, this is only scratching the surface.
Influences & My Music History
Why did all of this start? Who helped influence my music? What am I doing now versus when I started making music. Take a listen to Episode 4 to find out these answers and how my music career has developed over the years.
Indigenous Fisheries & More Local Music Talk
Although Party on a Podcast is supposed to celebrate music and local talent, along with kicking off your week on a positive note, we are brought together through another incident involving race, more specifically the indigenous fisheries right here in Nova Scotia.
