My name is Dr. Patrice Carter and I am healing from being a self bully. What does this even mean? Have you ever heard of this? How do you even know if you're bullying yourself?

Indicators of Self Bullying:
- Negative internal self talk to include criticism, judgment or mean comments to yourself about yourself;
- Overworking yourself and not taking or allowing yourself to take breaks;
- Skipping self care;
- Making yourself feel guilty or telling yourself that you'll be a failure If ...
- Believing the negative truths about yourself and then acting on them.

The Coaching Industry is Saturated. Now What?
The coaching industry is poised for growth and you are making an amazing decision to become a part of this explosive growth industry!
The bureau of labor and statistics rates one of the fastest growing industries as individual and family services with life coaching falling into this category. As of 2012 one study found there were 47, 200 coaches in North America with an annual revenue of $2 billion industry-wide. (www.marketplace.org, 2016)
The estimated revenue from coaching for North America rose 36% from the 2015 estimate to reach USD 1.296 billion in 2020. (https://bit.ly/3AZsAIp)
I recently read a couple of articles by other "Life Coaching experts" who made claims that "the coaching industry is saturated making it difficult for a new or aspiring coach to break through the crowd". I am in complete disagreement with this comment and mindset for all of the reasons I share below:
- The coaching industry, as of 2016, is a $2B industry. It isn't going anywhere!
- If the industry is full, then why did God call you to be a part of it? Challenge question: Are you using this as an excuse to not fully pursue or lean into the thing God said for you to do in the time He said for you to do it?
- What did God tell you to do specifically? Who are you called to serve and when?
- Check out what Isaiah 43:19 says... "shall ye not know it?"
- Go out into your town this week and see how many repeat businesses (exact same industry) you see on the same block (i.e. coffee shops, pizza places, burger joints, discount stores, etc.). Do you get my point?
- What does the fact that the market/industry being saturated have to do with you?
- To obey is better than to sacrifice! 1 Samuel 15:22.
- Get to it!

How to Know the Difference Between Coaching and Counseling
When you think of a Life Coach, what is the first thing that comes immediately to your mind?
For many people, the first words they think of are: therapist, counselor or mentor.
While coaching does have it's genesis in these fields, it is very much NOT counseling, mentoring, therapy or advising!
Coaching at its core is helping people to move from where they are to where they want to be; and, Christian Life Coaching, according to Collins (2012) is helping people move from where they https://www.thecoachingtoolscompany.com/free_coaching_tools/ to where God wants them to be.
We as Coaches, do this by:
1. Partnering with our clients;
2. Asking powerful questions;
3. Listening actively, at times passively and also intuitively;
4. Respond with affirmations;
5. Allow silence for reflection and consideration
There are TONS of Life Coaches in the world however, the key differentiator here is we are Christ-centered and skilled through training and application of a faith-based model of coaching and the high-powered partnership of the Holy Spirit.

5 Ways a Life Coaching Business Can Bring In Revenue
In this broadcast, I share with you 5 Ways a Life Coaching Business Can Bring in Revenue! I hope it blesses you! Let me know and please be sure to Like, Subscribe, Share and Connect with me/us!
I get asked all of the time by Coaches who want to come through our certification program or are just entering the industry, “can I make a living as a Life Coach”, i.e. “can I make money”? The answer is “YES”, you can make a substantial and self-sustainable living as a Certified Christian Life Coach! You can grow sustainable and self-sustaining income and wealth as well as leave a legacy for your family by doing what you love and what God, your CEO, has called you to do!
We are SO proud to share that one of our key tenets here at Breakpoint Coaching is that we not only prepare our Coaches by teaching them the skill os successful coaching using a faith-based model of coaching, we also walk with them hand in hand to build and establish their coaching businesses from the ground up!
So, let’s get right into it! The five(5) ways, plus some bonus tips, that you can bring in revenue as a Life Coach are:
***FIRST, pray and ask God to send you the nations! Psalm 2:8 (TPT) “Ask me to give you the nations and I will do it, and they shall become your legacy. Your domain will stretch to the ends of the earth.”
- You MUST Coach! I know you though this was going to be some mind-blowing, super secret key tip! So often Coaches set up a business and put all of the pieces in place, but they NEVER start to actually coach.
One fo the key ways to do this is through Networking! You MUST go on social media and hit the “LIVE” button and share your story, your products and services and speak to your target audience. They will resonate with you as an expert and gain a sense of whether or not you would be a good fit.
2. Be positioned and steady- when you launch your practice! No-one wants to or can follow a moving target! You MUST be consistent in your business and allow clients to experience you as a safe, reliable and constant source of help and inspiration. Inconsistent people are not trustworthy and this is borderline disobedience if this is something that the Lord has called you to do and this place doesn’t bear fruit.
3. Generate Referrals- there is nothing more lucrative and key for a business than a warm referral. It’s like a chocolate chip cookie 🍪 (or insert your own yummy dessert reference here) and gives clients again a sense that you have social proof and that you’re considered an expert and worthy of being invested in. This creates the “like, know, trust” factor that is important when people consider investing in our products and services.
4. Ask for the business- The Bible tells us that we have not because we ask not! At the beginning or the end of each of your social media posts, networking, cold calls, etc. you need to ask your potential clients for their business!
5. Networking is KING! Be willing to network and to put yourself out there! Check out some free webinars to learn how to be better at pitching and social networking!

The Importance of Life Coaching From Your Values
Coaching from your values is a truly powerful and promising place. This becomes even more relevant when we work with clients who align with what we hold dear and true as this becomes a gift and a tool that we offer them.
Living and working from your values is so nourishing, enriching and rewarding as this brings your decisions, actions and mindsets into alignment which in turn allows for greater peace, success and courage.
Your values are the things that you believe are important in the way you live and work. They (should) determine your priorities, and, deep down, they're probably the measures you use to tell if your life is turning out the way you want it to (www.mindtools.com).
I often encounter clients and even come Coaches that I work with through our company who experience a place of feeling "stuck" or encounter recurring setbacks. We find at times these situations occurring because they're not operating from a place of what they value and are not aligning their life/decisions or relationships on what they value.
Stolzfus (2008) shares that values are the bedrock of behavior and the define what is most important to us and form the framework for how we make decisions. He goes on to state that because values are such deeply ingrained assumptions, were often not consciously aware of what they are or how they shape our actions. Values discovery can be a powerful way tool to help clients to get in touch with who they are.

Life Coaching in the Midst of #Cultural Chaos!
Coaching in the midst of #cultural chaos!
It seems as though culturally we have gone from one crisis to another without taking a breath. Collectively and culturally we’ve all battled the #covid19 together and are now finally “breathing a collective sigh of relief”.
However, in only a few short weeks, we have found ourselves tossed back into a collective turmoil that is pulling our nation and our world apart at the seams. #georgefloyd #icantbreathe
This dispensation of time is just fraught with fear, stress, anxiety, anger and rage over chronic injustice, overwhelm and exhaustion.
In spite of this, I am encouraged. I am encouraged by the One who encourages me and the One who calls us to not stand by and to be silent as the enemy wages war against us; rather, we are called upon to help and to #heal and God has called us forth at such a time as this!
Listen as I share three key scriptures that come to mind as I think about what helping and healing look like from a coaching standpoint as well as practical and powerful ways that we as #lifecoaches and creatives can show up powerfully, prayerfully and effectively to coach in this time of chaos.

How to Overcome Impostor Syndrome!
The term was coined by American psychologists Pauline Clance and Suzanne Imes and is commonly understood as a false and sometimes crippling belief that one's successes are the product of luck or fraud rather than skill. Dr. [Sandra] Lyness said that high functioning/highly successful men and women were experiencing what she called an "impostor phenomenon," in which they come to believe that they are not as talented as their positions might suggest. How do I know which coach certification program to choose
Hi there! I am Dr. Patrice Carter, The Coache's Coach and I want to share with you the essential practices of an effective coach training program as shared by Collins (2002) and Webb (2019).
Below are considerations
Coaching Instruction should be live, interactive and “in the moment”.
The coaching instructor should model masterful coaching and should have passed an exam process based on coaching skills.
Instruction should incorporate discovery and practice and large blocks of time should be invested to practice the skill of coaching.
Training should be focused on participants learning the Instructors worldview matters and should match your own.
These practices should be evident
Practice individual coaching
Practice coaching with other participants
Practice coaching with other people
Live coaching feedback should be given to the Coach trainee through mentor coaching sessions
Practical considerations you should take into account:
- Do you feel comfortable talking to your potential Coach Instructor?
- Listen for passion, authenticity, ego, worldview, style, manner, humor and attitude.
- Be aware of the questions the Coach Instructor asks you and how they’re asked.
- Determine how much training experience the Coach has.
- Ask what is included in the fee as well as the time commitment required/anticipated.

4 Ways to Know if You're Called to be a Christian Life Coach!
Greetings! I am Dr. Patrice Carter, The Coaches’ Coach! Listen as I share four (4) ways for you to know if you’re called to be a Christian Life Coach.
My purpose is to add value to my fellow Coaches and the coaching industry as a whole and to encourage new coaches or those considering coaching, on their journey, through my expertise, experiences and resources.
In this video, I share a definition of calling by Tony Stolzfus (2008) “calling” is an external commission I accept to serve a greater good. My impetus/choice to serve certain other without regard to personal reward.
I will share that as marketplace ministers, we can expect, given that we work for God that He is now our boss and He pays excellent benefits and wages. Our coaching is both a call to action, a call to work and a call to ministry. The rewards are numerous!
The four ways you can determine if you’re called to be a Christian Life Coach are to consider the following four broad topics and prayerfully and thoughtfully answer the following questions (Stolzfus, 2008):
**Remember that coaching is all about asking and listening. So as you consider, ask and as you ask listen and write down what you hear the Lord saying.
Legacy/Service
1. What legacy do you want to leave behind?
2. What’s a really great legacy look like to you? Give me an example or two of a life you truly admire.
3. What do you most care about that is bigger than you?
4. Imagine at the end of your life looking back. What deeds would enable you to honestly say, “that was a life well lived?”
Who will you serve?
Who do you want to help with your life?
Think back over the last 90 days. Who have you gone out of your way to help, in big ways or small ways? What drew you to each of these people?
Service from Suffering
1. What individuals or groups do you deeply identify with our of your own suffering?
2. What difficulties have you faced that become defining moments when you overcame them? How have those experiences equipped you to serve others?
3. In what areas of your life that were broken or messed up in the past are you now helping others? What messages of hope does your life embody for others?
Tuning Into God
1. What do your spiritual values have to say about the purpose of your life?
2. What has God put you on this earth for?
3. What could you do what the life you’ve been given that you would make you look forward to showing the results to your Creator

Last night I had a vision that I was outside and as I looked across from me I saw these animals (some type of little furry fox 🦊things with big ears👂) and at first they were sitting up. But slowly they began to flatten themselves out. I couldn’t figure out why but then from the right a cougar appeared and was literally standing right over/next to me. I sat by my window as I do every morning, prepared to read my Bible, have coffee and talk with the Lord. As I sat there, “I clearly heard him say, “Winter has come”. I found this to be strange given that it was mid-August. In my ignorance, I assumed that perhaps global warming was causing some type of climate shift and that maybe winter would come earlier than usual. A short while later, I would understand the full weight of what God was saying.
