“So Close, Yet So Far Away” - John chapter 6
This was one very long day for Jesus. He was informed of the death of John the Baptist. Many came to Him to be healed. He preached. He fed the crowd. Later at night, while the disciples were in a storm on a boat, Jesus walked on the water to them.
John 6:22-59 The Next Day
The crowds of people went looking for Jesus. He said they had come for the wrong reason.
John 6:60-71 The Deciding Day
Not understanding what Jesus meant, many disciples walked away. They were so close, even tasting the miracle fish dinner, but they missed Jesus, and missed receiving eternal life.
