The Business Secret Podcast - Ryan Englin

Ryan Englin is the CEO of Core Matters. At Core Matters, they help you think differently today to create new opportunities tomorrow. They guide and coach you to implement a proven system to connect the right employees with your company. By working side by side with you to find, recruit, and retain your most important assets, they help you push past the status quo and grow your team in the best way possible.

Delivering an amazing experience on the outside of your company begins with having the right employees on the inside. Your people – the core of your business – are the ones who will make your company rise to the top. And that’s why they focus on them.

In this episode, Shaun Hiscox talks with Ryan about how he works with businesses to help implement recruitment processes to help find the 'right' people for the job. He goes on to discuss how important it is for business to be focused on their recruiting/recruitment process, as finding customers is the easy part of business, finding the right staff/team members is where the real challenge is. He explains to Shaun how there are 3 experiences that every business has: 1) The Brand Experience, 2) The Customer Experience and 3) The Employee Experience - the final one being the 'core' aspect. If you create a great experience for your employees, then they will create a great experience for your customers and happy customers will take care of your brand and reputation.

The Business Secret Podcast - Rhian Mannings MBE

Join Oliver as he chats to the truly inspiring Rhian Mannings MBE.

Rhian is founder and owner of 2 Wish Upon A Star Charity, a charity that aims to help families who have tragically lost a child or young adult. Their aim is to ensure that all of those affected by the sudden and traumatic death of a child or young adult aged 25 of under throughout wales get the important and integral support they deserve.

In February 2012 her young son George suddenly died with no signs of illness in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant. Days later, Paul her husband and the wonderful father to their three children, took his own life traumatised by the loss of their son.

The tragedy of experiencing the loss of their child was compounded by the situation Rhian and her husband found themselves in at the hospital, having nowhere to privately grieve and say goodbye to young George. The family were offered no support and were left to deal with the loss of both Paul and George alone.

Rhian is motivated by a desire to ensure that others would not have the same tragic experience after losing a child suddenly in hospital. With this new found drive, Rhian set up the child bereavement charity 2 Wish Upon A Star.

To date the charity has raised over 2 million pounds and is now an All Wales organisation helping hundreds of families every year.

Since starting up this life changing charity, Rhian has been recognised for her hard work on a number of occasions. These include the Prime Ministers Point of Light Award in 2015, the Halifax Giving Extra Award 2014, and, in 2020 she received the Pride of Britain Special Recognition Award.
