This is the first episode (well because I named it that way ha!) of the Perfecting Grace Podcast. Listen and find out what this podcast is all about --- if there is a topic you'd really love for me to hit head over to Instagram to tell me @heyjamierussell
I haven't spent my entire life as a Christian. I didn't grow up in the church. My parents weren't church leaders. And neither is my husband. But I've experienced God in some pretty tremendous ways. Grab a cup of coffee because this one is going to be a pretty heavy story but one that I hope you find to be inspiring.
Having certain strengths or skills when taken to the extreme can be a negative influence - but that doesn't mean we need to shame someone or praise them for being that way. We also shouldn't be wearing it as a badge-of-honor or letting it play into our negative thoughts. How are your strengths and weaknesses showing up for you in the world?
I always knew I had perfectionist tendencies but I always thought that it was because of how I was raised not who I was born to be --- well boy was I wrong. It took a bible-study group all about the enneagram to figure out I am a hard ONE (the moral perfectionist) and how unhealthy my mindset was to take a hard look at my reality.
Sort of ironic isn't it? I set out to take imperfect action on creating a podcast all about the perfectionist mindset only to find that my perfectionism was getting in my way every step to hitting publish.
After listening, I hope you will head over to Instagram and send me, @heyjamierussell a message with the imperfect action you are taking today.
