The Capitol Minute

Here we are, the almost close-out episode of the Best of Perry season of The Capitol Minute, which turned into Minutes and darn near half an hour sometimes. But they were glorious minutes of passion sharing timely messages like today's message of God's ability to use Civil Government to carry out his wrath and the need to express God's fatherly love in the church and at home to counterbalance the femininity in today's Christian culture. Messages like these are rare and need to be spread socially and through embodying the power of the one ultimately giving us the message, our creator, God. There's more to the United States than secularism and the adherents that want to keep faith from the halls of justice as Pastor Perry will detail in depth from the Bible in today's episode. We are one more installment away from a closing tribute to Perry by Pastor Arin Hess the new Executive Director of Capitol Studies. Will this be the beginning of Season 3 of the Capitol Minute???

Is God distant or is he close and able to hear our prayers? Questions like this one have been around for a long time as Pastor Perry will discuss today. Our last installment of the Epoch Times interview will have you asking yourself if you are willing to be obedient to God over the government when the government is tyrannical. We have two more Best of Perry podcasts to share before pastor Arin shares about what is coming next.

Can laws make society more moral? Better yet, can the enforcement of those laws make a society exhibit moral behavior? Perry will be discussing this today as he shares his thoughts on Romans 13:3-4 as well as the flip side to this question. What happens when the government doesn't punish evil behavior?

In the midst of the confusion about America's actions in Afghanistan lately, we are going to be grappling with the questions Perry discusses in our podcast. Is war just? Is all killing wrong? is the feminization of men Godly? Next time Perry will fill us in on how governments are administering God's wrath in this life and how we should respond to it.

Seems like the wrong time to discuss submission, as governments are wanting more of it from those that are skeptical of their decisions lately. Perry shares a descriptive word that will help you in discerning Romans 13: 1-7 and the myriad of ways it will be twisted as the Taliban take over governing in Afghanistan. Same story different century. Mean rulers keep their subjects loyal through fear and the people clamor for freedom. No, a hero doesn't rise in this episode, but perhaps it will embolden you to be a hero in situations with a tyrannical leader! Well even tell you the secret ingredient for being satisfied in this life that you can learn about next time.

Do you ever feel like others want you not to judge them so they can rule over you with their judgments concerning you? You may think definitions and terms only apply to you when having this argument. Perry arms you with simple yet bold truths about Jesus' teaching on having wise judgment and understanding the materials you are working with in doing so.

If the church doesn't have all the answers and you can't turn to the Government for Godly wisdom, is it probably that submitting to God who created both the church and governments is the logical answer?

The Golden rule says "Treat others the way you want to be treated", but the Platinum Rule says " Treat others the way you want others to treat the people you love". Right living today is not second nature and that why Perry shares seven ways to stand up to the status quo of today's culture of immorality to show that you really do ... love your neighbor.

Do you agree with the statement, there is no secular for the Christian? if not, you should and Pastor Perry will tell you why. So don't get mad at us. If everything is political and nothing is secular that would make political matters into spiritual matters, and there's none more qualified than Pastor Perry to give it to you straight.,

One of Perry's favorite sayings was " Right doing comes from right thinking and right thinking comes from thinking rightly about God." The key ingredient to that right thinking is prayer, and the topic of discussion today. it's short and to the point and worth replaying. Like today's Best of Perry series podcast, it will be a longer one than normal, and we like it that way. Next week Perry tackles the age-old question of "when is it the right to time stop submitting and start rebeling?"

Since some people are bummers not all governments operate as they should so Perry is here to lay out how they should act in case you were wanting to know.

We lost our friend and leader Perry Gauthier in Dec of 2020. Social media is a great place to solicit advice on places to eat, recommendations for plumbers and painters, and the occasional date night idea. We need superheroes to stop diabolical murderers, scummy drug lords, dirty cops, sex traffickers, and cheating businessmen. If there is no “fear of God” or fear of punishment, criminals think they get unlimited “Get Out of Jail Free” cards. While a Christian is to model personal love and forgiveness in society, the civil government is to punish and avenge criminal evil. God said so...for Him...on earth!

Hardly ever does a Bible verse or appeal to prayer by a politician on social media go without someone chiming in, "keep your religion out of my politics," or "that violates the separation of church and state.”  Atheists push for a religionless America. This episode can help you argue against the idea that the church should stay away from state involvement.

Parents are told to be gentle when disciplining their kids. Is gentleness key for government rulers to consider in punishing the crimes of their adult counterparts? These days, tears flow, and snowflakes melt when civil rulers punish evil. Why has society become so weak? Did you know that the "Gentle Jesus" actually referred to toxic people as "swine" and "street dogs"? "Who was He to judge?" someone might ask. Does God expect Christians to use their heads and make sober and serious decisions about problem people and even political policies?

In this tense political season have you noticed that Christians engaging in the cultural discussion are asked, "Who are you to judge?" Do you find that interesting? Isn't the person who is asking the question really making a "judgment" about the person to whom they are asking that question?

Civil Government is not the answer to everything. Even though designed by God, it is not the only God ordained institution. Has anyone ever explained to you what God's five institutions are? When each of these institutions run well, life is good on planet earth as God Himself has designed it.

Mulligans and Do Overs are ways golfers and humans try to clear their minds and score cards of past mistakes. Did you know God had to "Start Over" with the human race? He judged and cleared Earth's violent slate in Noah's flood. Afterwards, He instituted civil government to rule on the dry ground of that new "start over" environment. You may not know the first and only law He instituted at that time.

Martin Luther King Jr. was a champion for justice. He realized that education and heart change mattered but so did laws. Have you heard his comments about how human governments can make "mighty big" changes in culture, like keeping people from lynching people? Laws restrain the heartless!

False dichotomy. If I said those were the only two words in the world, that would be a "false dichotomy" because I would be wrongly pitting two things against each other as if they were at odds. I would be forcing you to say that there were only two choices about a subject matter: the matter of words. Did you know God commands us to love our neighbors AND be good citizens?

More than a few political discussions have been halted by the assertion that religious ideas should be set aside during political arguments. Secular humanists shout, "Get your religion out of my politics!" Is government necessarily a non-religious institution? Join Nate Wagner as he asks Perry Gauthier about “the secular and the sacred in politics” in this episode of The Capitol Minute.
