In the period between Easter and Pentecost we go back to our series of Old Testament Bible characters. This is a sermon given by Angela on David. She could have chosen to do David and Goliath but that would have been too easy. Instead she chooses to align David's character with Psalm 23.

This podcast is given by Sue. The topic is the Road to Emmaus. In this story the disciples saw Jesus but did not recognise him. Perhaps we can have this problem sometimes. But Jesus is with us always.

Esther - an Advocate for God
This is a sermon Given by Cath. Esther was called by God to be his advocate in the King’s family. She did not know what was coming and how to react, but she knew God was with her. Perhaps we have been in situations where we have felt fear, anxiety and wondered where God is in this situation. The answer is to have faith in God.
Joseph - Dysfunctional families
This is a podcast given by Paul on Joseph. The story of Joseph is similar to today's soap operas on TV - no-one gets along with each other. Joseph starts off being big headed and thinks he is better than his brothers - his coat of many colours did not help. But eventually he cooled off and with God's help he became more understanding and loving towards his friends and family.
Jacob - Wrestling with God
Sometimes we wrestle with God - when will this happen, why don't you do something God? Perhaps the answer is to pray then let God do his work. Jacob wrestled with God too.

This is a podcast of a sermon given by Cath. It's about Ruth and the three R's. In this case the three R's are how Ruth was Rescued, Redeemed and Restored by God.
Gideon - Indecision
This is a podcase presented by Angela and Sara on Gideon. Gideon was a bit indecisive and need signs from God that he really did want him to get on with things. Perhaps we can be like this - we know God wants us to do something but we just need to check on a few things before we do it .......
Challenge - How did Moses face challenges?
This is a sermon given by David. It's about Moses. Perhaps Moses knew that the route to the promised land included crossing the Red Sea which would clearly be a challenge. But Moses knew that was what God wanted him to do.

This is a sermon given by Sue on Ash Wednesday which marks the beginning of Lent. She give us her thoughts for Lent. Perhaps Lent is not a time for giving things up but a time of looking at things differently.
Mental Well Being
This sermon is given by Patrick who represents Kintsugi Help. Kintsugi Hope is a charity based in the UK striving to make a difference to peoples mental wellbeing. 'Kintsugi' is a Japanese technique for repairing pottery with seams of gold. The word means 'golden joinery' in Japanese. This repairs the brokenness in a way that makes the object more beautiful, and even more unique than it was prior to being broken. Instead of hiding the scars it makes a feature of them.
Baptism of Christ
This sermon was given by Dave on 12 January 2020 as close to Epiphany as you can get when the wise men came to Jesus. It ties in with the Church Lectionary. It's about the Baptism of Christ and how Jesus insisted that he was baptised by John.
