#267 The End of Wine As We Know It? Or The Biggest Reboot EVER?
Love wine, but feel a shift in the air? Many are whispering about the decline in wine consumption, especially among Gen Z & Alpha. Is this really the beginning of the end for our beloved wine industry? Absolutely not!
I just returned from the London Wine Fair, and while the worries are real, I spoke with incredible visionaries who showed me this: Every challenge is a massive opportunity!
In this video, we're diving deep to uncover:
The Hard Truth: Why are younger generations really drinking less? (Hint: It's not just health!)
Cannabis Drinks: The new competition – a threat, or a surprising chance for the wine world?
The "Drink Less, But BETTER" Trend: Why quality over quantity is the future.
Experiences, Not Seminars: How winemakers are captivating Gen Z & Alpha by making wine tangible – from vineyard "tastings" to pop-up events.
English Wine: The Unexpected Game Changer? Why naturally lower ABVs are a HUGE market advantage.
Wine in a Can: Proving convenience and quality can go hand-in-hand.
The NoLo Category: The rise of no- and low-alcohol options – essential for an inclusive drinking culture.
We'll show you how the wine industry is reinventing itself: with authentic storytelling, true craftsmanship, and the courage to do things differently.
It's time to be positive! Because the future of wine isn't just bright; it's bursting with new possibilities if we just embrace them.

#266 Kein Alkohol in China, Schweden und Saudi-Arabien? Was ist da denn los? (Weekly Update)

#262 Weekly Update: Champagner-Streik, Millionenbetrug & Jalapeno-Wein – was läuft da schief?

#261 Generation Nüchtern - Wie inklusive Trinkkultur Gen Z & Alpha begeistert

Was ist hier eigentlich los?

#255 David vs. Goliath im Glas – Wer macht No & Low wirklich besser? 🍷🍺

And the biggest trend? Non-alcoholic drinks are taking over. Spain is stepping up in the premium no/low-alcohol space, weddings are seeing a surge in alcohol-free options, and even Pernod Ricard is launching a non-alcoholic Ramazzotti.
So, are we witnessing a fundamental shift in drinking culture? Let’s talk about it in the comments.

#247 Vineyards on Sale?! Why Some Wine Regions Are in Trouble and Prices Plummet🍷💸
Winery sales are booming - but not necessarily in a good way.
With wine consumption down, overproduction in key regions, and shifting investment trends, vineyard prices are crashing in some parts of the world while skyrocketing in others. South Australia, Bordeaux, and California? Big drops. Barolo? More valuable than ever.
So what’s happening? Who’s buying? And what does this mean for the future of wine? Let’s break it down.

#245 ProWein Recap - Is ProWein Fighting Back or Falling Flat? 🤔💥
After last year's episode asking "Is Wine Paris kicking ProWein's ass?", it's time to see if Düsseldorf came back swinging or just... well, limping. 🩼
ProWein 2025 had its highs — focused masterclasses, a strong spirits hall, and a solid Zero Corner - but the chaos with the app and fewer visitors left many questioning if Germany can still hold its ground.
In terms of content, AI, spirits, and alcohol-free are on the rise, but with Wine Paris offering a smoother, more affordable ride, will more people ditch Düsseldorf next year?
Is ProWein still the wine fair, or are we witnessing the slow fade of a giant? Drop your hot takes below! 🔥👇

#244 Weekly Update - Tariffs, Trade Wars & A LOT of Beer 🍻🔥
This week’s drinks industry update is a wild ride. Trump’s tariffs are shaking up the global market - Canada is banning U.S. booze, British Columbia says “Nope” to American alcohol, and one brewery is going full survival mode by selling 1,461 cans in one go (because why not, right?).
Meanwhile, Europe isn’t exactly chilling either:
- EU is investigating the alcohol-free sector for possible anti-trust issues#
- Spain tightens rules on underage drinking
- ABInBev is riding the wave with a new World Surf League deal
Oh, and if you thought U.S. wine exports had it bad before, wait until you hear about the 200% tariff on EU wines. Yikes.
Grab a glass (or a 1461-pack) and tune in. 🍷🎧

#243 Old Wine Collections: Treasure or Trash? 🏺🍷
Buying old wine collections isn’t just a hobby—it’s a crash course in wine history. 🤓 But let’s be real: for every hidden gem, there’s a bottle of glorified vinegar waiting to fool you. So how do you separate the legendary from the lost causes?
In this episode, I break down my fair but firm evaluation process, the biggest red flags, and the wildest surprises I’ve come across. From fake price illusions to storage horror stories, I’ve seen it all. And if you think age always equals quality, well… think again. 😏
If you’ve ever stared at an ancient bottle and thought, "Is this history or just expensive salad dressing?" - this one’s for you.

#237 Wine Brain vs. Open Mind? 🍷🤯 What Austria’s NA Scene Teaches Us
Fresh from Vienna, I’m diving into the latest trends in Austria’s alcohol-free scene. A whole trade show dedicated to NA drinks? That says a lot. But while interest is booming, perspectives couldn’t be more different.
We’ve got two camps:
🍷 The Traditionalists – searching for dealcoholized wines but struggling to let go of their "wine brain."
🌿 The Curious Explorers – embracing everything from kombucha to tea and beyond.
Where does Austria stand in the global NA movement? What role will gastronomy and retail play in shaping the future? And most importantly - what does this mean for the industry?
Let’s break it all down. And tell me: Have you tried an Austrian NA product yet? Drop your tasting notes in the comments!

#220 Weekly Update 🚨 EU tackles Wine Crisis 🇮🇹Italy agrees on Dealcoholization 🍀Organic NA Wine approved
The wine world is full of twists and turns right now, with big shifts that will impact how we drink, produce, and trade wine for years to come.
The EU is finally stepping up to tackle one of its biggest wine crises yet: oversupply. With overflowing cellars and climate change reshaping vineyards, they're working on solutions that aim to reduce production while addressing sustainability and the change in consumer preferences - but will it be enough to make a lasting impact? Meanwhile, Italy is taking a bold step, agreeing to the dealcoholization of wine. In addition, the organic alcohol-free wine production is finally gaining approval, sparking hope for a more inclusive, mindful drinking culture.
In France, Champagne - the king of celebrations - is losing its crown. With market share declining domestically, is this a sign of shifting preferences, or are larger forces at play? 🥂 Over in Germany, the country has once again been crowned the Wine Import World Champion. But is this really a title worth celebrating, or does it highlight deeper challenges within the country's wine culture? Interestingly, German wine has been stealing the spotlight in China, where it's making waves among consumers seeking premium options. At the same time, Chilean wine giant Concha y Toro is also ramping up its interest in the Chinese market.
This mix of challenges and opportunities paints a fascinating picture of where the wine industry is headed. Tune in as we unpack these stories and explore what they mean for producers, retailers, and drinkers alike.
