Season 2 Premier! Thomas Eckhart | Fallout 76 | Power

Season 2 Premier! Thomas Eckhart | Fallout 76 | Power

Welcome to Season 2!

Note: I do in fact know that it is 2021, not 1921. You'll see what I mean.

Fallout for Hope starts December 4th! Join the team or donate now!

When the bombs fell in 2077, most people watched in horror. Some, however, saw an opportunity. One of these was former Secretary of Agriculture Thomas Eckhart. He seized his moment... and power. In his obsessive quest to eradicate the world of communism, he instead unleashed horrors previously unheard of upon the survivors of Appalachia.

Join me and my special guest, Ken Vigue, the brains behind CHAD: A Fallout 76 Story podcast and the Fallout for Hope charity initiative, as we discuss President Eckhart, his rise to power, those who blindly followed him, and the fates that awaited everyone in Fallout 76.

Alistair Theirin | Dragon Age: Origins | Hope

Alistair Theirin | Dragon Age: Origins | Hope

Dragon Age presents a dark world, filled with death, destruction, and darkspawn. For many who have played the series, however, one particular character stands out as a bright, shining beacon, his innocence, naivete, and sharp wit bringing laughs and romance to the game. Even so, Alistair Theirin is no simple one-dimensional character; he has his flaws. While many of these are a product of the society he lives in and the way he was raised, they will deeply affect the outcome of his story, and yours, depending on your character's origin.

In this episode, Jessica-Star of the United Wastelanders Network and the Fallout Feed and Dames Who Game podcasts joins me to take a close look at Alistair, his best moments ("Swooping is bad") and his flaws.

Charon | Fallout 3 | Redemption

**Note: Since the recording of this episode, my guest prefers to be known as TrashKingNyx, and uses they/them/he pronouns.

Charon, the prickly ghoul companion you first encounter in the 9th Circle bar in Underworld, Fallout 3's city of ghouls, claims that he is honor-bound to serve you once you purchase his "contract of employment" from his previous employer. But this raises a whole host of troubling questions—what are the limits of the contract? Can you truly have honor if your actions are not a choice? If there is no consent, what does this imply as to the nature of your relationship, even if you are playing as a "good" character?

In this episode, my guest, Nyx, and I dig into these tough questions while also taking a close look at the possible characteristics of people who identify with Fallout's ghouls.

Almalexia | Morrowind | Women in Media

Almalexia | Morrowind | Women in Media

Although Almalexia and Vivec (from Episode 3) are part of the same Tribunal, acted in similar ways, and committed similar atrocities, they are often viewed by Elder Scrolls fans in very different ways. Why is this?

In this episode, Aramithius of the Written in Uncertainty podcast and I unpack the ways in which powerful women are portrayed in various forms of media, storytelling tropes around women without children, and how these and other ideas intersect to color the perceptions of these characters and their actions.

In this episode of the Pixel People Podcast, I chat with Tom, creator of the Robots Radio podcast network and host of many podcasts, including the Fallout Lorecast, the Elder Scrolls Lorecast, and the Cyberpunk Lorecast. We talk about the badass Ciri from the Witcher 3, the ways in which she interacts with Geralt in the role of adopted daughter, and how the parenting decisions you make as Geralt affect the outcome of the game.

Content Warning - We do delve into a discussion of current political events around the 25-minute mark, but I promise--there's a point to it!
