Pls Fix Thx

By Raj Parekh & Sanchit Wadhawan
Welcome to Pls Fix Thx!

We started this podcast to talk about modern-day fads and trends that leave us feeling overwhelmed, drained and burned out. If these feelings sound familiar to you, then you're at the right place! Through our candid conversations, we'll rant about what's got us down this week and toss out some ideas for how we can solve our problems together.

18: We Don't Have Any!
We're all out! We don't have any. We're backed up. It seems like no matter what you're looking for these days, there's a massive shortage. The supply chain is broken and shipments aren't getting in. Need food? We're out of ketchup, Chic-Fil-A sauce, and chicken wings. Need shelter? We're out of housing and even wood. Thinking about sleeping in your car instead? We can't make more of those because we don't have computer chips. Amidst all this we bet you didn't even notice we're running low on other random things like paper bags, chlorine, and tennis balls. In this episode, we break down the shortage of everything and reflect on just how weird the supply chain got in the weirdest year ever. 17: Is It Ok To Step Outside?
We’re back for Season 3 with more hard-hitting, thought provoking observations than ever before. In episode 1, we take on travel, discuss common mask-wearing techniques, and talk about our latest adventures. Raj goes broke traveling through Ohio, United Airlines still sucks, and the CDC...doesn’t? Join us as we try to make sense of traveling in the post-but-not-really-post-pandemic era. We’re changing up our format, shortening our episodes and condensing our takes. 12: The MBA - Please Fix Thx (Part 3)
Whether it’s Star Wars, The Godfather, or our MBA series, we at Please Fix Thx love a good trilogy! To wrap up this series, we bring in our friend and colleague CJ John to talk about why he chose to not get an MBA and what he’s doing instead. CJ brings a different perspective than our first two guests, going into detail about how he began the application process for grad school before coming to the decision that it wasn’t right for him. We discuss when it is worth getting an MBA, and CJ shares his advice for those considering advancing their career without one. Music by: www.bensound.com

10: The MBA - Please Fix Thx (Part 1)
Getting an MBA is often seen as a necessary step to a successful career. If you’re in a field like consulting or finance, you might be thinking of getting an MBA yourself or at least know people who are. But with the rising cost of an MBA, we’ve been thinking, is it still worth taking two years off to get one? In our first of a two-part series, we talk to our friend Jack Kerschner, a current MBA student at University of Notre Dame, about his motivations for getting an MBA and what school during a pandemic is like. He walks us through his model for determining the value of an MBA, and shares valuable advice for those considering grad school. 9: Streaming Wars - Please Fix Thx
We’re kicking off season 2 talking about streaming wars. Remember the quaint days of Netflix and chill? Now we got a dozen different platforms with more content than we could ever need, we’re paying as much as we ever were, and we’re so worked up about it we can’t even chill like we used to. We need to talk. We’re taking on subscription fatigue, the proliferation of streaming services, discussing why cable is not good enough anymore and telling you how as a society, we can fix this. Take a listen and let us know what you think via instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn or by emailing us at hosts@pleasefixthx.com. Ep. 8: Interviews - Please Fix Thx
In our season #1 finale, we’re coming after job interviews and the corporate recruiting process. You know, those things that you stay up all night stressing out about when you’re looking for a job? Companies are bad at evaluating talent, it turns out. Interviews are really ineffective and biased. Case interviews are even worse, and we’d like to see them go away completely. And why do we need AI in our interview process?! If you’ve ever been discouraged while job hunting or interviewing, we hope you’ll relate, and if you are in charge of a company’s hiring process, we hope you’ll reevaluate your practices. This is our last episode of season one. To all who listened, thank you so much! We really appreciate all of you. We will be back in 2021. In the meantime, please rate, subscribe, and share this with your friends and family. Miniseries: Out of Scope #2
Out of scope work always happens to find you right as you think you’re about to finish a project doesn’t it? Please Fix Thx isn’t immune to it either, but we try to have fun with it here. We’ll wrap up season 1 next week, but until then, please enjoy the second installment of our miniseries where we go rapid fire about a number of topics that don’t deserve a whole episode. If you’ve ever wondered what a conversation between your favorite podcast hosts sounds like when the mics aren’t on, this episode is for you. We riff and rant about covid life, our loss of liberty and the increasingly fatiguing pursuit of happiness. Raj explains why sourdough sucks and product operations doesn’t. Sanchit jibes at the playstation controller and educates Raj about tofurkeys. This is as raw and unfiltered as we’ve ever been. We hope you like it.

Ep. 7: Advertising - Please Fix Thx
We took a two-week break between episodes but at least it wasn’t a two-week commercial break, right? Back to your regularly scheduled programming! We’re here to talk about advertising - why we’re sick of it, why there’s too much of it, and why it’s ruining our lives. We’re sick of freemium models, surreptitious data collection, and unethical, harmful, profit-driven marketing. We think you probably are too. So quit scrolling through your feed, taking your buzzfeed quizzes, and reading that sponsored content and listen to our latest ad-free episode of Please Fix Thx! Ep. 6: Imposter Syndrome - Please Fix Thx
We’re probably not the most qualified people to talk about Imposter Syndrome, but we did it anyway. This episode is a bit more serious and personal than some of the previous ones that we’ve done, but we feel a lot better after having done it. And we hope you feel better after listening to it! We break down what imposter syndrome is, what all feelings are associated with it, and some tricks to help cope with this. Ep. 5: Paid Time Off - Please Fix Thx
We took a break last week, but we’re back...to talk about how we could all use another break. This week, we’re breaking down paid time off (or PTO) and how we neither get nor use enough of it. Americans are taking less time off than we were back in the 80s and our mental health is worse for it. We challenge the workplace stigmas surrounding PTO, talk about why unlimited vacation is a scam and discuss the occupational phenomenon that is burnout. Finally, we offer some helpful solutions to help us all take more time off work and focus on ourselves. So take a day off and listen to our latest episode and don’t forget to rate, subscribe and tell your friends about us! Miniseries: Out of Scope #1
Welcome to the first episode of our new miniseries “Out of Scope”. We’re so used to doing out-of-scope work in our professional lives that we had to bring it to our podcast too! This miniseries is where we’ll talk about a smattering of current topics that wouldn’t be worth a whole episode by itself. In this episode, we discuss COVID life, Zoom calls, the next Mission Impossible movie and more.  Let us know what you think by emailing us at hosts@pleasefixthx.com or messaging us on LinkedIn or Instagram. If you have ideas for future topics you want us to cover, share them with us and you might just hear them on our next episode!

Ep. 4: Side Hustles and Startup Culture - Please Fix Thx
If you aren’t hustling are you really living? The answer is yes. This week, we’re here to tell you we don’t have side hustles and it’s totally cool if you don’t either. We break down some of the biggest myths swirling around side hustles and the gig economy. Also, we bring in our first ever guest - Ayushi Patel, the co-founder and CEO of healthcare startup CenSyn to discuss her experience as a startup co-founder and help explain what the lifestyle and culture is really like. If you’ve come across some ridiculous hustles or been approached to join one, let us know about it by emailing us at hosts@pleasefixthx.com or dm-ing us on instagram. Ep. 3: Get-Rich-Quick Schemes - Please Fix Thx
Happy Tuesday! Do you want to unlock your ability to influence people? What if we told you we could offer you the secret to making truckloads of money in your spare time? Don’t you want to be in the best shape of your life? We don’t. And frankly, we wish people would stop asking us.  In our third episode, we’re talking about some of the schemes and scams that are everywhere around us. We’ll break down a few of the most popular types of “Get-Rich-Quick Schemes” and other scams that similarly prey on our insecurities. We discuss how these schemes are so successful and how we as a society can help put an end to these. If you’ve been approached by someone trying to recruit you into one of these schemes (maybe they promised you “passive income” or quick-hit investing advice, or the ability to “be your own boss”?) tell us about it by emailing at hosts@pleasefixthx.com or DMing us on Instagram! Ep. 2: Certifications - Please Fix Thx
Welcome back! In our second episode, we discuss the rise and ubiquity of professional certifications. Maybe you’ve felt this way, but it seems like every time we look, there’s another certification we need to get to remain competitive in our field. On a related note, we’re also seeing a burgeoning cottage industry of meaningless certification courses that promise to make us more marketable or hirable (for a “small” fee of course!). If you’ve ever wondered what’s up with that, join us as we talk about how we got here, the scams we’re seeing and potential solutions to the problems of our certification-centric workplace culture. To kick off Season 1, we’re talking about LinkedIn, the platform dedicated to connecting the world’s professionals. Well, we’re a couple of professionals who aren’t having a whole lot of fun being so connected and this week, we’ll tell you why. We share our experiences with the platform, why we feel like it’s been bad for our mental health, break down problematic user archetypes, and discuss ideas for how we can make the platform better.
