Season 2, Episode 6: Adventures in Podcasting (Part 2)
Putting together Adventures in Podcasting with my guest/co-host "Excuse Me, I Have Something To Say" host Shaun Philip Naylor was, well, an adventure in podcasting. It's a hodge-lodge of 3 separate conversations pieced together. Some of the recording on my end was poor quality, and I salvaged it because the content of the conversation was worth it. As an amateur podcaster, my experience is limited. I spent over 12 hours editing and piecing things together to create a little bit of flow, and a special 2-part episode that I had lots of fun creating.  Instead of giving you the guide to the best equipment and technology, Shaun and I offer a more DIY approach, and Shaun offers that podcasting is a "free art form." In my mind, this gives us permission to be imperfect, messy, and to have fun!  For those interested in exploring the wonderful world of podcasting, here are some of the resources Shaun and I shared. If we mentioned something that's missing from this list, reach out and we will add it to the list. Happy Podcasting, and thank you for tuning in to Season 2, Episode 6 Part 2 of The Podgecast!  Design and Creation of Social Media Posts:  Canva: Picsart: Audiogram: Platforms to Schedule Social Media Posts:  Later: Hootsuite: How to Connect with Shaun Philip Naylor:  Website: Instagram: Twitter:

Mid-Season Interruption
Dear Podgecast Audience and Guests,  I made a rookie mistake, which is great because I'm a rookie and I'm learning. I recorded some fantastic content for Episode 6 while I was cat-sitting and alas, I was in an area with an echo. I need to re-record most of the episode, so I've taken the opportunity to share a little about my vision for the Podgecast and a little more about me, as some friends and listeners were asking.  Please note that when I speak of humans being supported, I'm speaking from a place of faith and what I believe to be true: that we are supported by the Universe. Sometimes as humans, we aren't supported and society can be very cruel, especially when we get caught up in group (mob) mentality. And when this happens, can we be kind to ourselves, remembering that one reason we go along with the group is to feel a sense of connection and belonging?  When we go within and truly connect with our hearts, it is possible to regain access to unconditional love for self and others. It's such an important time of year for people to know they are not alone, so for those who can access that care in their hearts, please do. Have a listen to this brief bonus "episode" and send me some feedback. If we aren't connected on social media, you can reach me @the_podgecast or @rachelhayek_ on Instagram, or you can email me directly  BIG love,  Rachel xoxo

Gloria serves as a guide for emotionally intelligent humans who have big dreams, fierce hearts, and creative minds. Kim and I have known each other since we were babies. We met in Canada, and her family moved to California when she was 7 years old. Episode 10: Shared Passion for the Enneagram
In Episode 10, I connect with KR (Kristin Rondeau) on a topic we share a deep love for: the enneagram. I've worked with this incredible system of transformation for close to 9 years. The enneagram is a framework of 9 core motivations that impact human behaviour and influence personality. I use it in my coaching, I teach workshops, and I go to workshops. It is dynamic and vast and the learning is never-ending.  Three words I correlate with the enneagram are: compassion - for self and others, communication, and appreciation.  Instead of an interview, I wrap Season 1 with a conversation during which KR and I excitedly share the impact of the enneagram in our own lives followed by a tour around the enneagram wheel and an overview of each of the 9 types.  About Kristin:  Naturally curious and a passionate advocate for a plant-based lifestyle, Kristin is a devoted life-long learner who enjoys working, playing and growing in the wellness space. Inspired by her love of nature and interest in continued professional and personal development, she feels honored to call the West Coast her home, where she has the opportunity to explore, reflect and embrace the next chapters of her life. Episode 9: Coffee and Tarot with Natalie Salvino
Natalie Salvino has been reading cards for approximately 33 years. In this episode, I join her for morning coffee at her magical home in the forest outside of Salmon Arm, BC. Natalie is both logical and creative, with a quirky sense of humour. She's an artist who paints, makes jewelry, blends herbs, and she even knows how to make drums. Episode 6: Fred and Karen from the Westcoast Reiki Centre on reiki, healing, and the importance of connecting over values
In this episode, I have the incredible opportunity to interview the dynamic, vibrant, beautiful duo who run the Westcoast Reiki Centre, where I have completed a number of trainings. Fred and Karen are my dear teachers and they mean the world to me.  The Westcoast Reiki Centre is co-owned by Frédérique Morel and Karen McCullough. The “Centre” was founded in 2006. It’s goal is to bridge traditional, esoteric energetic concepts with the modern world we live in. Frédérique began her study of the human energetic system, meditation and Reiki in 2012. Her teacher  was a martial arts specialist, physical trainer, an osteopath and a Reiki teacher. She has continued her education through professional development courses at Omega Institute in New York State and with Frans Stiene, an internationally recognized teacher located in the Netherlands. She uses her skills to work with those who suffer from anxiety and has been teaching Reiki and meditation since 2015. Karen is a graduate from Langara College’s three year Integrative Energy Healing program. She has studied anatomy both from a physical, “scientific” perspective and an energetic perspective. She is trained in Reiki, chi gong, polarity therapy, somatic awareness, and trauma care. Her belief is that the more we gain awareness of our energetic and emotional beings, the more confidently we can move through the world. She works with those who suffer from anxiety, PTSD, depression, and self-esteem issues and has been teaching Reiki and advanced energy healing since 2010. In this uplifting interview, we talk about reiki, energy, healing, values, the precepts, and fun.  You can find out about the programs offered by Karen and Fred by visiting their website and by following them on social media via the links below.  Website: Facebook: Instagram: Thank you for tuning in! Please share, like, and come back in 2 weeks for Episode 7 of The Podgecast.  ps I have marked this episode "explicit" because the word "shit" is uttered. I would say it's pretty PG otherwise!

In Episode 5, I have the pleasure of speaking with Flora Yang. Flora refers to herself as a "life-experiencer." She has travelled and worked in multiple cities and industries. She is intensely curious about herself, others, and various cultures, and how they all interact in the world. In her book, she shares her thoughts, experiences, and what she has learned in hopes that it may resonate with readers and comfort or inspire them. She is a naturally vibrant person, energized by meeting and learning about people. She loves dancing and the feeling and energy it brings to her.
