Episode 122: Tiger Beat for Misfits
In our 122nd episode, we’re back in person for the first time since episode 77, nearly a year ago. Coming to you live from an undisclosed location in Maine, we dig back into Nate’s abundant nerdery storage. Episode 101: The Host Mailbag Episode
Episode 101: The Host Mailbag Episode
We’ve all heard of the typical mailbag episode, where listeners submit questions to be answered on the podcast (we’ve done two of them - Ep 22 and 48)….well this is the host mailbag episode. We, the hosts, ask questions to each other. A few teasers: What is your most bizarre/unexpected interaction with a musician? Which listening medium to get rid of— in headphones, in the car, or on your home stereo? What’s your bucket list concert venue?  What’s your take on the current Spotify landscape? These and plenty more. One for the nerds!  If you like what you hear, please rate, subscribe, and share!  Check us out at: www.podioslave.com  Email us: podioslavepodcast@gmail.com

Episode 99: A Conversation with Benny Horowitz of The Gaslight Anthem/Mercy Union
In our 99th episode, we’re joined by Benny Horowitz, Drummer of The Gaslight Anthem and Mercy Union. Benny is a 90s OG, having booked and played shows for over 25 years at this point. Benny’s conversation chops rival his ability to crush the drums, and we couldn’t have asked for more. This is another can’t miss episode! Transition music: Mercy Union - "Chips and Vics" from the 'The Quarry' LP.  We’d love for everyone to hear this episode! You invite the Drummer of the band on the podcast to talk about it— and we did just that. In our 91st episode, the pod turns inward. Nate has often dropped info about his time working on the venue support/concert promotion side of things -- so it got us thinking. Why not have him as our "guest"? We talk about how he originally got started with it, what he's up to lately in this space, a first hand account of the infamous Shadows Fall/Terror/Zao show that literally brought the house down, and much more.  Shout out to Return to the Pit for capturing photos of the Shadows Fall/Terror/Zao show in Portland, ME back in 2005 Photos can be found here: http://www.returntothepit.com/concert.php?date=2005-05-06&band=shadows_fall  We'd love for everyone to hear this episode! Episode 90: Would You Rather….Podioslave Edition
In our 90th episode, we play a game of musical “Would You Rather”. Would you rather own a vinyl production plant, or a record store? Would you rather 80’s bands only play 90’s music…..or the other way around? Would you rather Chino Moreno continue with Deftones….or RATM put out a new album? We discuss these and more! The pod begins with a conversation about Adele, and her downright takeover of the music business. Between monopolizing vinyl plants and getting Spotify to change their product…..it’s been a busy couple weeks for her. All hail Queen Adele!  We’d love for everyone to hear this episode! Episode 38: Nerducken - Nerd Arguments at the Thanksgiving Table
In our 38th episode, we start a new Thanksgiving holiday tradition here at the Podioslave Podcast.......Nerducken. The premise is that we pit two like bands against each other and each defend our case for which we prefer. The guidelines being: the band you pick stays around, while the other band’s catalog disappears off the face of the planet. This is the music nerd version of arguing with your family at Thanksgiving dinner. Nirvana or Pearl Jam? The Smiths or The Cure? Listen and find out! We also discuss the recent news of the Bull Moose Music Portland, ME location closing its doors at the end of the month. We’ve collectively spent hundreds, maybe even thousands, of hours crate digging in the Portland location over the last 20 years. This is a real example of the implications of Covid hitting home. In our 29th episode, we’re joined by rapper Spose. In addition to rapping, Spose also runs his own record label - P Dank. We dig into Spose’s music path —- starting as an indie artist, making the transition to a major label (Universal Republic), and then back to indie with P Dank. Spose has always been one to push the envelope — releasing an album within a video game app, writing and recording an album in 24 hours (with a full band), and many others. This conversation underscores Spose’s ability to continue to move the needle in an industry where creatives are often held back by the machine.
