We officially start the year recapping on our most recent award by APVA, retrospcting on how 2023 was and how we set a good precedence and foundation for Podvise to thrive, touching on how 2023 as a year was in general. Additionally, we speak on some of the resolutions we've set for this year, among them being introducing a new show called Flow & Tell. We also touch on the rising cases on Femicide in the country, asking what way forward?

For this new season, we start by touching on, and sharing our gratitude with our amazing fans who helped us secure the APVA Awards win, how Ronny & Joy actually met, going further to expound on all the struggles we've faced since the inception of Podvise back in season 1 to where we are at the moment, reflecting on Podvise Growth, the challenges we have faced while at it and conclude by introducing new shows which will run under Podvise.

For Episode 010 we kickstart the conversation celebrating on the milestones of producing 10 conclusive audio-visual episodes, delving further into talanta hela, it's revocation and the revocation of the council nominees i.e Churchill, Azziad, Dennis Itumbi, Kate Actress & Akothee.

Additionally we touch on the radicalization, religious manipulation and the Shakahola mass massacre

On Episode 09, we start discussions on the Kenyan cartoon on production and the need for Kenyan Production team to fully capture the Kenyan aesthetic.

We touch on the recently introduced taxes - The Housing fund that & The Finance Bill that has been reviewed with more tax introductions for Kenyans already struggling to make ends meet due to the current high costs of living.

We delve into the KNCCI Fee being tabled by Trade CS Moses Kuria and discuss on whether it is really necessary for small scale businesses who are already having so much on their plate.

Finally, we conclude touching base on the tax cuts for Rich Kenyans who are looking to import helicopters.

We kick off episode 007 with a conversation around beauty standards and how celebrities such as Black Chyna & the Kardashians have started reversing plastic surgeries and trying to be abit more natural in their aesthetics, raising the conversation on how society pressures women to look a certain way for approval.

Onto mental health matters, we touch on Dj Brownskin's latest fiasco where he filmed his wife ingesting poison, triggering a conversation on what his options at the time was and how most situationships in the modern day are toxic and manipulative.

We touch on Maandamano and how they are making a come back, on whether Eric Omondi is really the activist he claims to be, and triggers such as the 50 unconstitutional CAS appointed by Ruto, posing the question as to whether it was necessary in an already struggling economy.

Episode 006 feels a little more educational than the previous episode, as we discuss a couple of topics that have been influencing several discussions in Kenya & Africa as a whole.

We start the conversation off by touching on China Square, its convenience for Nairobi shoppers and the recent move by Trade CS Hon. Moses Kuria that led to its closure citing competition threat to the Kenyan Association on Manufacturers rendering an uproar by the Kenyan Market.

Still on the hot topic of manufacturing, we delve deeper into West Africa, touching on the recent developments on the trade of raw cocoa by Ghana and Ivory Coast after a carbon credit payment trigger by Brussels & the western world at the World Cocoa Foundation in October 2022. This led to Ghana dipping its toes into actual manufacturing of chocolate products instead of exporting raw cocoa to the western world. This fuels a conversation on the importance of African economies tapping into manufacturing and producing of products for better economies and independence.

Ronny further touches on the recent biopiracy conversation that saw Kenya export some of its oldest Baobab stems to Georgia and Western world for 'research & preservation" practices, begging on the need for such practices being undertaken in-situ.

We conclude episode 006 by touching on Racial profiling & Visa restrictions for Africans travelling to Europe, sharing the recent profiling of Coco EM, A Kenyan DJ booked to perform in Europe who had to go through hell to connect a flight to Europe via EgyptAir, as well as Joy sharing a personal story on how imposible it was for her brother to secure a visa tracel to study abroad.

For episode. 005, we kickstart this week's episode by flagging that it is full of trigger warnings, but commence the conversation in an insightful manner, highlighting Kenya's most followed Male Tiktoker Mr. David Moya & his bold move to patent his serenading dance style, delving deeper into the importance of Copyrighting & Patenting Creative Artistry. In relation to this, Ronny speaks on his experience with copyrighting some of his intellectual property with the Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) and shares the process of how to go about copyrighting ones IP. Still on the conversation on IP, we touch on Musical artist's masters and discuss a bit as to why International Artists such as Future, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake , Dr. Dre and others are going ahead to sell their musical discographies.

The conversation gets a little triggering as we get local and discuss the new Office docket titled Office of the Spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary, adding how unnecessary it is with relation to the dwindling economy, inflation and touch on the high cost of living for the ordinary Kenyan Mwananchi, questioning the commitment of our leaders to lower the cost of living.

For Episode 4 we start the conversation by touching on the bold move by Senator Gloria Orwoba sensitizing on the need for end of Period shaming, Joy also sheds more light on the recent attacks on P&G company in relation to differences in quality of Kenyan sanitary pads to those in the first world country.

 We also touch on the story that was trending a couple of days earlier regarding relationships that feel entrapping and brainstorm on healthier ways to address such relationships. 

We end the conversation by sharing our work experiences and the gap between what we do and what our parents would want us to pursue. 

For Episode 3, we touch on what's been happening with the recent changes in the education Ministry with the introduction of new school time/ schedule. We chime in on the recently introduced Kenyan Creative Council.

How thin is the line between Religion & Neo social Norms??  We conclude the conversation discussing on the differences between men and women in regards to how they deal with Mental Health issues.

On our premiere audio-visual episode, Ronny Onkeo introduces the creative team - Mr. Kevin K. Kengei & Ms. Joy Gichobi - to the Podvise Gang; who've been mostly BTS as Brand Manager & Writer of the show respectively. They join the show as cohosts and kickstart the episode with a conversation on the recently released KCSE 2023 results. The conversation delves further into "Men & Podcasts" & the need for healthier outlets. 

We touch on emerging tech trends such as Artificial intelligence comprising of  Chat GPT & DALL-E 2, and weigh in on its pros & drawbacks. 

The conversation also touches on financial literacy and the need to save & invest, the state of digital currency/crypto-currency and the most recent FTX crash courtesy of SBF & Alameda Research among other topics in between.

For this particular episode, we’re excited to finally have Ms. Beatrice 'Tris' Njeri hop on and share her inspiring biking journey, reiterating on her love and passionate for bikes and being faced with a dilemma that prompted her to sell her beloved bike at one point in her life.

 Tris talks about the problems facing riders in Kenya and the importance of joining PBAK (Private Bikers Association of Kenya) which acts as a guild for bikers. She also goes deeper to share some of the challenges that she's faced over the years running two motorcycle dealerships  (Tris Motorcycle Dealerships)

  She’s also excited to share that more women are joining the biking sphere, justifying the equal gender enrollment for her motorbike classes. As we delve deeper she shares more on what gears she swears by, but also adds and advocates on the importance of AGATT- All Gear, All The Time.  Consequently, she touches base on the Tris Motorcycle Financing scheme that her dealership facilitates and how it’s making it easier for the  youth to access their bikes.. yeah! For our premiere episode of season two, we are honoured to host Mr. Nelson Nkari & Mr. Calvin Mwenda, the founders of two legal consultation platforms notably Legal Tech & Legal Point. In this episode, they start off by expounding more on these platforms, the benefits of Legal Point Web application and how both clients & legal practitioners can benefit from this platform. They also go further to expound on some of the problems the Kenyan Legal framework is currently facing and measures that can be put in place to address these problems. 

Mr. Nelson shares on IP & Patent Registration & Protection and how to best protect one's brainchild; Data Protection Act Policy and how to consequently avoid being a victim of data breach and phishing. Is it advisable and worth it to sue an individual or company when they breach an agreement? 

Mr. Mwenda further expounds on the need for contracts and best practices to follow while entering into legally binding contracts.

They both touch base on mental health in the legal space and measures they've put in place to protect their staff and ensure the environment is conducive for work.  As the conversation gets more personal; they share what they would have ventured into if they were not practising law, and some of the pet peeves that they've come across over the years they've been practising.

They conclude by adding how budding Lawyers can not only benefit from their legal consultation platform and the services they render, but also how they can join their growing team.

DJ Mura stops by the studio to share some of the insights he has come across during his journey into the local music scene.

Dennis Mwaura, professionally known as Dj Mura K.E is a Dj/Music Producer based in Nairobi Kenya. He is an AFRIMA Nominee and one of the pioneers of Bengatronics; a new sound fusing Benga & electronics.  So far, Mura has performed and made appearances in some of the biggest festivals in East Africa, such as, Africa Nouveau [Kenya], Ongala Music Festival [Tanzania], KAN Festival [Tanzania], Bayimba Festival of arts and music [Uganda], Color Festival [Kenya] and recently did a tour in UAE organized by Bengatronics and partners in UAE.

In regards to problems in the music scene, he expounds on the challenges facing musicians in Kenya among them being corruption in the Royalty Collection bodies that have been deregistered due to mismanagement of office by The Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO)

He sheds more light on some of the mistakes up and coming DJ's make, He shares why Major Lazer & specifically Diplo is a Genius, Why the best era of Music is the one were currently at, what certifies a song as a classic among other conversations in-between.

In this episode, our host Ronny Onkeo is honored to have a sit down with Zimbabwe's finest Actor & Stand-up comedian Miss Munya;  where she sheds more light on what her collective- Sekesai Collective- is doing to empower and create more safe spaces for women in Comedy. Additionally, she shares how she deals with and overcomes stage fright; her favorite Kenyan phrase, and explains the reason behind it being her favorite phrase.

Miss Munya goes on to share some insights for women looking to venture into the comedic scene, some of the comedians she looks up to among other insightful conversations in-between.

For Ep. 007, we meet up with Mr. Robert Munuku, a visual artist, writer, film maker & Founder Mau Mau Arts who goes on to share valuable insights he has come across in his life's journey, speaking on his stint as a financial analyst to venturing into the visual arts sphere.

He goes on to share some of the problems he has encountered in his career as a film maker as well as adding some viable solutions to these challenges. 

Being a film buff, he names some of his favorite movies of all time, and puts us on to what music he's vibing to- a pretty diverse list for that matter!

For Episode 006, we are honored to be in the presence of two Internationally acclaimed & touring comedians from Zimbabwe, Mr. Tinaye Wayne and Miss Munyaradzi Guramatunhu ( Munya )  who have catapulted to fame from Magamba TV’s series, “The Week”  and Simuka international comedy special called "Special Class". Tinaye & Munya demystify some of the problems comedic acts & creatives in general face in Zimbabwe's creative economy, the inspirations that led to them fully venturing into comedy; some of their favorite Kenyan dishes, and even going further to share with us the Kenyan names bestowed upon them!

Mr. Tinaye & Miss. Munya were recently in Kenya; performing at the “Everybody Can Gerrit!!! and Other Random Thoughts” comedy special at Lava Latte courtesy of Moto Republic, Creatives Garage & Kalabars.
