Yahuza Abdulkadir is a Nigerian writer and poet. He is a member of Hill-top Creative Arts Foundation and Unimaid Artists Club. In this episode of The Poetry Experience, Zakiyyah Dzukogi reads two of her poems: "The Middle Of June, 1780", published in Kahalari Review and "Winters and Summers", published in Melbourne Culture Corner. Zakiyyah Dzukogi is a 17 years old Nigerian poet. She is the author of Carved (a poetry collection); winner of the Nigeria Prize for Teen Authors, 2021, a prize she had earlier won the second-place position in 2020. She is a winner of Brigitte Poirson Poetry Prize, 2021 as well as the Splendors of Dawn Poetry Prize, 2019. She has her works published or are forthcoming in Melbourne Culture Corner, Olney Magazine, rigorous, The Account, Mixed Mag, The Beatnik Cowboy, Kalahari Review, Spillwords, Sledgehammer, the Dillydoun Review, Tilted House and others.

Ali Mamman Lawan reads My First Son is Pain, and The House. Ali Mamman Lawan was born in Nigeria, Kano state,  but has his origin from Yusufari, Yobe State. He attended John Gulson Primary School in Coventry, UK and was later enrolled in Musa Iliasu College, Kano after his return to Nigeria. He emerged as the best graduating student and successfully launched his first novel titled, “Tears on a Red Rose” on his graduation day. He is currently an accounting student at Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) He likes to read, write, travel and play video games. Besides being a young published author, Ali is also a poet and a spoken word artist who likes to take the stage. He is a member of various poetry and writing platforms including For the Love of Poetry (FLP), Young Creative Writers (YCW), Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), and Poetic Wednesdays amongst others.

In this episode, Naseeba Babale reads two of her poems: How I Wear my Accent, published in Brittle Paper, and This is Not a Poem, published in African Writer. Naseeba is a poet, literary administrator, and medical laboratory scientist with the Department of Chemical Pathology and Immunology at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital. She is a member of the Association of Nigerian Authors (Kano State Branch), the Secretary of Poetic Wednesdays Initiative, and moderator for Glass Door Initiative’s Poetically Written Prose contest 2019 and 2020. She was one of the judges of the Nigerian Students Poetry Prize, 2020 organized by Poets In Nigeria. She was a co-organizer of TEDxAminuKanoWay. A graduate of Bayero University, Kano, Naseeba is a lover of arts and a columnist for Konya Shams Rumi. She hails from the Kano State of Nigeria.
