Development Sociology graduate student Stephanie Enloe sits down with Dr. Jahi Chappell, Associate Professor and Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Agroecology, Water, and Resilience at the University of Conventry as well as Professor Rachel Bezner Kerr of Cornell's department of Development Sociology. They discuss Dr. Chappell's recent book, "Beginning to End Hunger", and his insight into food sovereignty movements in Brazil. This is brought into contrast with Professor Bezner Kerr's longstanding work in Malawi; the discussion covers the key concepts of food sovereignty, food justice, agro-ecology, and how best practices can be transferred across locations. 

Development Sociology graduate student George Spizak convenes a conversation with Development Sociology Professor Tom Hirschl and Dr. Reverend Theoharis, Director of the Kairos Center for Religions, Rights, and Social Justice. They explore the overlap and interface between research on poverty risk in the United States and grassroots movements against poverty, examining the Kairos Center's "Poor People's Campaign", and tools like Professor Hirschl's "Poverty Risk Calculator". 

Development Sociology Graduate student Peter Fiduccia sits down with Professor of Development Sociology, John Sipple, to discuss the core inspirations for his upcoming book project, 'The Almighty Dollar'. The conversation focuses on his time working as an external monitor appointed by New York State to study and mediate in the highly conflicted community of East Ramapo, New York; the subject of which has been widely publicized by "This American Life".
