Episode 39 - Tom Wirth

Episode 39 - Tom Wirth

This episode of Pool Player Podcast features one pocket player and author Tom Wirth. Tom's book, One Pocket, A Game of Controlled Aggression, is a great instruction guide to learn the game of one pocket.

In this episode, we dive deep into Tom's motivations for writing the pool, his pool playing journey, and his thoughts on some of the best players of today and in the past. Tom is a teacher at heart and this episode provides some great advice for those looking to get into the game of one pocket.

As part of this episode, I have bought an extra book from Tom that will go to one lucky listener. Simply go to YouTube and hit up the comments with the term "controlled aggression" and Tom will sign the book and ship it out to one lucky winner.

Episode 19 - One Pocket Power Rankings

I hope you enjoy this video going through the first Pool Player Podcast One Pocket Power Rankings. I apologize for some video glitches throughout but the content was just too good so I had to roll with it.   Panel: Oscar Dominguez (CA), Mike Davis (NC), Molina Mike (TX), Joey Ryan (AZ)  Methodology: Each panelist separately ranked their top 18 one pocket players without seeing each other's lists. The lists were then compiled, averaged, then ranked.   The goal is to begin discussions on the top one pocket players and maybe stimulate some action matchups. The One Pocket Power Rankings will be updated on a regular basis.  Note: This recording took place prior to the Chip Compton vs. Roberto Gomez match that just finished up.

Episode 17 - Scott Frost

Episode 17 - Scott Frost

This episode, over three months in the making, features one of the best one pocket players in the world, Scott Frost. The original recording occurred in September but in the final recording, Scott's video froze for over 40 minutes. We both decided that the best thing to do was to re-record those 40 minutes, but it took a while to get it rescheduled. Thankfully, we got it done and Scott was very kind to agree to do this.   Some of the topics we cover in this show include how Scott got started playing pool, stories of high dollar gambling matches, Scott's current business interests, and some advice for players. After watching this, I believe that you will agree that the only thing Scott may do better than play one pocket is tell a story.

If you own a truck and are interested in a really nice grille, check out Scott's new business partners at royaltycore.com or @royaltycore on Facebook and Instagram.

I'd also like to thank Rick Schmitz with RixxImages for another quality thumbnail image of Scott and Lenny Marshall for some images and video from On The Rail TV.
