Hello my practical people. Welcome to another episode of The Practical Therapist. Today, I will discuss how to create a list of what I like to call “functional first words”. This episode will be helpful if you have a toddler who is not yet talking or even an older child who does not seem to be talking at an age appropriate level. However, In order to create this functional first words list, you must first understand what constitutes a child’s first words and how many words a child should have by the time they reach a certain age.

Therapy Ice Breaker Party Favors
Hello My Practical People,
Check out my Youtube video on how left over and unused party favors can be used to engage children, who are hesitant or reserved about meeting the speech-language pathologist (SLP) for the first time. These items have helped me out in therapy, when I am trying to establish a rapport with the patient during initial therapy sessions.
Below are the links to the two party planning stores that I bought the various party favors from. I would just type in party favors in the search bar or browse a local store if you have time, since all stores may carry slightly different versions of the party favors.
