For generations, people have been fascinated by the links between mind and body. For example, do people really die of a broken heart? Does a healthy mind indicate a healthy body?

Scientists have been studying the associations between mental and physical health for some time. One such association is between depression and heart disease. Research has shown that depression is more common among people with heart disease compared to the general population.

The Real Issue: 2023 Trends in Garden Design

The Real Issue: 2023 Trends in Garden Design

2023 is going to be huge and more and more people are about to change their gardens. Abel Prasad looks at the latest trends in garden designs.

Currently, it’s not hard to find information about how to improve the aesthetics around you—every streaming service has access to dozens of shows featuring home improvement projects, ways to declutter your life, décor ideas, and more. These programs, along with the many websites and social media accounts that focus on the topic are proof that we all share a collective sentiment: Surrounding oneself with beauty is not frivolous. Rather, it’s a worthwhile endeavor that can improve our mood and outlook on life in general.

With that in mind, it’s no surprise that gardeners are striving to give their outdoor spaces, balconies, and homes an aesthetic that makes them happy—ultimately creating a respite from everything else going on in the world. This philosophy guides our forecast for what the focus will be for gardeners in 2023. Happy gardening!

The Real Issue: Andrew "Top-G" Tate ARRESTED

The Real Issue: Andrew "Top-G" Tate ARRESTED

Ah Tate what have you gotten yourself into now?

Andrew Tate’s humiliating online feud with Greta Thunberg may have led to his dramatic arrest on suspicion of rape and human trafficking just 24 hours later.

The divisive social media personality, 36, and his brother were led away from his Romanian mansion in handcuffs on Thursday.

But the sting may never have taken place if Tate hadn’t posted a taunting comeback to the teenage climate activist on Twitter featuring a Romanian pizza box.

Sources close to the investigation told local news publication Gandul that anti-mafia prosecutors learned the pair were in Romania through their social media activity.

Harvard Law School cyber expert Alejandra Caraballo claimed the pizza box likely gave away the brothers’ location in a viral thread online.

“Romanian authorities needed proof that Andrew Tate was in the country, so they reportedly used his social media posts,” she wrote.

“His ridiculous video yesterday featured a pizza from a Romanian pizza chain, Jerry’s Pizza, confirming he was in the country.”

The Real Issue: Oat Milk While Breastfeeding: Benefits to Milk Supply

The Real Issue: Oat Milk While Breastfeeding: Benefits to Milk Supply

As soon as Linh gave birth to Lilah we started looking at ways to increase milk supply. I had heard about Oatmeal as a way of increasing milk supply but owning a coffee shop it dawned on me that it might be worth looking into the benefits of Oat Milk.

So after some research I did a small podcast on it.

Ps. if you want to make oat milk here is the recipe otherwise jump onto Prasads Home and Garden and purchase some, it's a lot easier.

How Do You Make Oat Milk?

To start making oat milk, you will need two ingredients: oats and water. You will also need a blender, a nut milk bag or cheesecloth, and a jar to store the oat milk.

  1. First, measure out 2 cups of oats and 4 cups of water. Steel cut oats, rolled oats, or instant oats may be used.
  2. Then, soak the oats in the water in the refrigerator overnight.
  3. After soaking, blend the oats and water mixture in a blender.
  4. Then, strain the mixture through a nut milk bag or cheesecloth to separate the pulp from the liquid. The liquid is the “oat milk” and the pulp may be either eaten or baked.
  5. Store the oat milk in the refrigerator for up to two days. Store-bought oat milk may last longer than the homemade version. Be sure to read the instructions on the package.

The Real Issue: Don't cancel your flight to Bali.

The Real Issue: Don't cancel your flight to Bali.

Indonesia’s controversial sex ban has sparked warnings for Aussies visiting Bali — but there are “three things” you’re not being told, according to locals.

Well, before you cancel your trip (or put a last-minute ring on it) here are three key points that the headlines aren’t telling you.

1. This law does not come into effect for another three years. A lot can change before then!

2. Only direct family (parents, brothers, sisters etc.) can report their own family members to the authorities — there won’t be ‘raids’ on villas or hotels etc.

3. You do not need a marriage certificate to check into your hotel and you do not need to book a separate room to your partner!

This law doesn’t particularly affect tourists, but we do hope certain changes are made if it comes into effect in 2025, to protect certain freedoms of the local community.

What can we take from here, don't always read whats in the newspapers and do your research.

This is Abel Prasad signing off for the day

The Real Issue: National Mental Health Month

The Real Issue: National Mental Health Month

Hi Guys its been a while but what better way to jump back into it then talking about mental health.

National Mental Health Month is an initiative of the Mental Health Foundation Australia (MHFA) to advocate for and raise awareness of Australian mental health. It is an important time where the Australian community comes together to raise awareness and promote better mental health for all. Throughout this month, many events have been organised in each state of Australia aiming to attract and unite Australians of all ages and backgrounds to raise awareness and promote better mental health for all.

According to census, “45% of Australians aged 16-85 years have at some point in life experienced a mental illness. Yet 65% percent of people who are struggling mentally don’t take serious steps, especially men.” Everyone’s mental health varies during their life and can move back and forth along their own personal range between positive and healthy at one end through to severe symptoms or conditions that impact on everyday life at the other. Therefore, it is important for men to take care of their mental well- being. Taking this into consideration, in South Australia we have decided to host a ‘National Symposium on Men and Mental Health'.

The Real Issue: What does net zero emissions mean?

The Real Issue: What does net zero emissions mean?

Prime Minister Scott Morrison today announced his Coalition government has agreed to aim for net zero emissions by 2050.

But what does net zero mean, and how do you get there?

As the world edges closer to COP26, a crucial United Nations climate summit hosted in Glasgow, Scotland, we answer the big questions about net zero 2050.

What are net zero emissions?

Net zero emissions means removing as much greenhouse gas from the atmosphere as what's emitted, so the net amount added is zero.

That's right.

But it's important to note that Australia is only committing to the 2050 net zero goal, it is not a legally binding target.

Some Western countries have made their net zero targets a legally binding goal, and critics of Mr Morrison argue Australia needs to follow suit.
