EP19: Cash Rules Everything Around Me—The 3 Brand Currency Principles

This audio was stripped from a webinar on May 4th, 2020, Building Your Brand Currency. Join my email list to find out about upcoming webinars.

Just like you have the ability to spend, save, and invest actual currency, we can complete similar actions with our brand currency.

Here's a quick rundown of the 3 brand currency principles we dove into:

#1 - Invest early and often.  Start taking control of your brand as soon as possible, and check in on your brand periodically.
#2 - Save, save, SAVE because what you save becomes wealth. This is in terms of relationships; nurture them to the best of your ability and the ROI you receive on your brand currency doubles.
#3 - Spend more than you earn, meaning give more than take. Your brand, and even further your connection with others, is like a bank account. In order to withdraw anything, first, you must deposit something.

Grab the freebie mentioned in the episode: Brand Audit Worksheet to determine the value of your brand currency.

EP11: From Debt to Brand Capital (w/ Michael Benjamin)

Welcome back! We're kicking off season 2 with a FIRE episode on how you can turn your current situation into brand capital.

This week I'm sitting down with one of my personal LinkedIn connections turned friend, Michael Benjamin, in San Diego, CA. At 23, Michael managed to pay off over $30,000+ in debt through mindset, faith, and most importantly - discipline. After doing this he then went on to self-publish The Power of Yet, a fictional, personal development book that addresses the importance and effect of adopting a growth mindset. The impact of The Power of Yet has allowed Michael to be featured in NBC news, present workshops across the country, and build a community behind his brand.

If you're wondering how to turn your debt into brand capital, or even how to go about self-publishing a book, this episode is for you!

BONUS: You’re Looking in Every Direction Other Than Inside of You

BONUS: You’re Looking in Every Direction Other Than Inside of You

Why is it that when building a business or brand, starting something new, or simply just making a decision, we ALWAYS seek guidance from others? More often than not, these are individuals who aren't even qualified to offer us insight into the venture we're starting.

The answers to the questions that we are asking are, more often than not, found already inside us. We just never take a moment to properly seek guidance from the one person that matters most. Take a moment during this bonus episode to begin seeking direction from yourself, rather than family, friends, and acquaintances who very rarely see the vision we possess.

EP6: The Keys to Positioning Your Brand for Success (w/ Kyle Woumn)

This week I sat down with Kyle Woumn — Atlanta native and creator of Drakestragram, Ideas 2 App Store, and Over The Top (OTT).

The key that sets good brands apart from great ones is POSITIONING. In just a matter of months, Kyle was able to create his own traction and publicity for a site he developed, Drakestagram.com, that lets users insert keywords related to a photo they’d like to upload then pulls quotes from Drake song lyrics related to that keyword.

[insert Drake lyric here about being absolutely GENIUS]

In this episode, we chat about

∙ The importance of doing market research when working to scale your brand

∙ How to intersect your various passions so that you can start making BANK

∙ Why betting on yourself is the only way to get where you truly want to go

∙ Why being patient is imperative when building a brand

∙ …and so much more!

In this second piece of this two-part series I had the chance to visit my alma mater, Indiana University - Kelley School of Business, recently where I connected with Omar, a rising junior studying Business Analytics and Data Science. • Learning from the arrogance of others, and yourself

• How life continuously gives you the same lesson until you learn it

• Why college is a good route even if you know you want to be an entrepreneur

• Life being a strategy, and in order to deal with stress and obstacles the strategy must be focused on your mindset

This particular episode gives you a seat at the table to hear about Omar and I's experience being first generation and balancing entrepreneurship while in school or working full-time. I also drop some information that will allow you to know me better as a host.

EP3: But, What's My Passion?

The first step you have to take when beginning to brand yourself is identifying your passion. Often times, people tend to use the terms passion and purpose interchangeably; though there's a big difference between the two that I touch on in this episode. Elizabeth Gilbert has a great outlook on identifying your passion that I mention, as well. To view her video that's referenced in this episode, check out bit.ly/sbby-elizabethgilbert
