Amelia of Ngāti Tukorehe was raised in the Hutt Valley. When Amelia was twelve she lost her uncle to suicide and from there her own mental health rollercoaster began. She kept her suicidal tendencies hidden from those around her, but it became public when she was nineteen, and she was later diagnosed with bipolar. Over the next fifteen years Amelia went on a journey of self-acceptance and recovery. Dr Sam Manuela is a NZ-born Cook Islander and a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of Auckland. Dr Sione Vaka is a Senior Lecturer in Nursing at AUT. In the early 90’s he was one of the first male nurses in Tonga, and after migrating to New Zealand he worked for many years in the mental health sector. In 2015 he completed his PhD, which explores Pacific constructions of mental illness. At twenty-five, Meghan is one of the youngest Māori managers in the rainbow services. Isha Ula (she/her) is a youth worker for Village Collective working under the Rainbow Fale Sector. She works with Pasifika Rainbow LGBTQ and MVPFAFF youth, equipping and enabling them with the tools to navigate life.
