Lots of deep, personal reflection and insights came up for me whilst watching Harry and Megan being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey. I applaud honesty, story telling and asking for help. And I share some of the times I've done this. A moving episode today. Take care whilst listening and afterwards.
Like a newsround episode but by Princess Priya instead! Headlines including new president of America Joe Biden, that interview by Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid with home secretary Priti Patel. Finishing with a teacher becoming well known for standing up for teachers. Yes, someone other than me, its Mr P! Finally, petition link is here, please sign, www.change.org/counsellingforteachers
Reflections on Xmas in lockdown and how we continue to keep on, keeping on. Happy new year all! 💛💙
If you don't know already, I'm petitioning for change in schools. The current system is breaking these beautiful souls and too many excellent teachers have left because they are not able to give more. They already give their lives and health. Making them choose work instead of family, regular time off and being well is not fair or humane. This cannot be a bolt on to already impossible work loads.
Please sign and share widely. 💛💙💛💙💛💙
Being ill or in pain for a while is a real pain. It can be hard to admit we are coping and then it may be even harder to get the right help. So, here I share some frustrations with getting help with long term or complex problems through the NHS and the slight inconvenience of being in denial about what you need help for in the first place anyway! It is okay to ask for help when you need it. You are entitled to help. You can persevere to get that help. Don't give up on you. There's only one you, look after yourself.
Some heavy and some light in today's episode. I talk about my experience with doctors and share how I was affected by new, stronger pain medication. Then there is some usual nonsense where I chat shit including a tiny bit about I'm a celebrity. Finally there's a plea for help. Link to support https://www.change.org/counsellingforteachers
