Office Hours - Dr. Joseph Kan

Dr. Joseph Kan completed his specialty training in Prosthodontics as well as the Master degree from the Implant Surgery from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry (LLUSD) in 1997. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and the research coordinator for the Implant Dentistry Program in LLUSD. He also maintains a private practice limited to Prosthodontics and Implant Surgery. In 1997, Dr. Kan was the recipient of the Best Research Award in the 12th annual meeting of the Academy of Osseointegration. He also received the Judson C. Hinckey Scientific Award from the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry in 2003 and the Robert James Achievement Award in 2005. Dr. Kan is on the Periodontology/Implantology Editorial Board of the Practical Periodontics & Aesthetic Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of Osseointegration, American College of Prosthodontists, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and an associate member of the Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontists. Dr. Kan is one of few clinicians worldwide that had been trained in both the surgical and restorative discipline of implant dentistry. Besides lecturing both nationally and internationally, he has published over 40 articles in reference journals and chapters in textbooks.

Office Hours - Dr. Hector Sarmiento

Office Hours - Dr. Hector Sarmiento

Dr. Hector Sarmiento was awarded his DMD degree by the University of Rochester. He is uniquely trained in both maxillofacial surgery and periodontics. He is a professor in the maxillofacial surgery department of trauma and reconstructive unit at the Regional Hospital in Mexico and is an Assistant Clinical Professor in periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. Along with his periodontal degree he also received his masters in oral biology from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Sarmiento is an international and national lecturer and has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and textbooks. His research focus includes infected dental implants such as peri-implantitis, sinus complications as well as bone biology. Dr. Sarmiento maintains his private practice in the upper east side of Manhattan in NYC.

Office Hours - Dr. Richard Miron

Dr. Richard Miron is currently lead educator and researcher at Advanced PRF Education and an Adjunct Visiting Faculty in the department of Periodontology in Bern, Switzerland where he completed his PhD studies since 2009. He has currently published over 200 peer-reviewed articles and lectures internationally on many topics relating to growth factors, bone biomaterials and guided bone regeneration. For the past 3 years, Dr. Miron has been recognized by Dentistry Today as being one of the top 100 CE providers in the country and the youngest to ever make the list. He is also the most cited researcher in the the past 10 years on PRF therapy and has recently been awarded many recent international prizes in dentistry and is widely considered as one of the top contributors to implant dentistry having won the ITI Andre Schroeder Prize, the IADR Young Investigator of the Year in the field of Implant Dentistry as well as the IADR Socransky Research award in the field of Periodontology (2020). He has written 4 textbooks widely distributed in regenerative dentistry including his best-seller in 2019 titled: “Next Generation Biomaterials for Bone and Periodontal Regeneration”.

Office Hours - Dr. David Wong

Dr. Wong received his undergraduate education and dental training at the University of Oklahoma. He then went on to complete a three year residency in periodontics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry as well as at Penn Dental Medicine. He is a published author in several peer-reviewed dental journals but has also reached a mainstream audience in media such as Fox News and the Wall Street Journal. Dr. Wong presently resides in Tulsa with his wife and three children where he maintains a full-time private practice.

Office Hours - Dr. Pinelopi Xenoudi

Dr.  Pinelopi Xenoudi is  Professor of Periodontics and Director of the Postgraduate Program in Periodontics in the Division of Periodontology, Department of Orofacial Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco. She graduated from the University of Athens, Dental School with the Degree of Dental Surgeon in 2003. The following year she was accepted to Louisiana State University where she completed a dual certificate/degree program in Periodontics and Master in Oral Biology. She achieved the Diplomate Status of the American Board of Periodontology in 2008. Since 2015 she has been participating in Interprofessional Education collaborating with the UCSF schools of Medicine and Nursing, focusing on teaching effective communication skills, creating team-based protocols and procedures, and overcoming educational barriers. In 2017 she become a member of the Academy of Medical Educators. She has published in several peered reviewed journals.

Office Hours - Dr. Todd Schoenbaum

Dr. Todd Schoenbaum is a full time Associate Clinical Professor at UCLA, Director of UCLA Continuing Dental Education, and trains residents and students at UCLA in implant restorations. He has published over 40 papers, 8 chapters, and one textbook. He is the recipient of the scientific writing award from the JPD. Dr. Schoenbaum has been invited to present his clinical and scientific work at conferences worldwide. He maintains a private practice limited to implant treatment with Dr. Peter Moy.

Dr. Neiva earned his Certificate and Master's degree in Periodontics from the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry. He is a Diplomate and a Director of the American Board of Periodontology. He is also a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantology and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and Pierre Fauchard Academy.  Dr. Neiva serves as Chairman of the Department of Periodontics, University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He is active in clinical research related to bone and soft tissue augmentation, as well as novel techniques in Implant and Periodontal Therapy. Dr. Neiva has published many scientific papers and book chapters in the fields of Periodontics and Oral Implantology. He also lectures frequently both nationally and internationally.

Office Hours - Dr. Marc Nevins

Dr. Nevins serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry.  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. Dr. Nevins is in the private practice of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry in Boston, Massachusetts and is Assistant Clinical Professor of Oral Medicine, Infection and Immunity at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Nevins graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and he received his Certificate for Graduate Training in Periodontology and a Master of Medical Sciences in Oral Biology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine.  Dr. Nevins has research interests in Clinical Applications of Tissue Engineering for Regenerative Periodontics and Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Leandro Chambrone has been engaged in clinical practice, research and evidence-based dentistry since 2000. During this period, he successfully completed his training in Periodontics (Certification, Masters, Doctorate, and Post-Doctoral fellowship) and Orthodontics (Certification). Beyond his enthusiasm and dedication as a clinician, he has a solid background as an academic/researcher. He’s the authors / co-author of approximately 120 articles, several of them published in leading dental journals, and three books on Periodontal Plastic Surgery and Dental Implantology. Dr. Chambrone serves as Professor of the MSc Dentistry Program at Ibirapuera University and serves as the Section / Associate Editor of Clinical Research for the International Journal of Oral Implantology (Quintessence Publishing Group). Moreover, he serves as an Ad-honorem Associate Professor / Research Consultant at the Unit of Basic Oral Investigations at El Bosque University (Colombia), Visiting Professor at the Department of Periodontics at the University of Iowa and Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania.
