Advances in Commercial GEOINT Panel - Sensor Showdown
Advances in Commercial GEOINT Panel  The initial impetus for real growth in the commercial GEOINT satellite market was the need to augment classified systems and ‘off-load’ lower priority, non-time dominant collection so government systems could focus on the truly critical issues. For example, most of the so-called mapping mission went to commercial. That was then, this is now. Today the government recognizes that national security mission success dictates far greater “persistence” including through all weather conditions…and the ability to glean insights from parts of the spectrum not currently collected. This panel will explore how rapid revisit collection throughout the day and night and through cloud-cover using SAR is enabling both new government and commercial customers. In addition, it will explore how hyperspectral imaging can unlock new types of information.   Moderator: Rob Zitz | Robert Zitz & Associates LLC  Panelist: Scott Herman, CTO | BlackSky  Panelist: Bill Schuster, Co-founder | HyspecIQ  Panelist: Mike Moran, COO | PredaSAR   This episode is created and hosted by Project Geospatial as apart of our Geospatial Frontier Sensor Showdown Series partnered with URSA.

Will COVID Lessons Learn Stick? - Chris Rasmussen
In this session, Adam Simmons interviews Chris Rasmussen on his best practices and lessons learned behind operating organizations in unclassified open environments, enabling the workforce to work from home, and how to promote integration and adoption of new technologies.    Chris Rasmussen was the architect behind the Unclassified GEOINT Pathfinder initiative, which aimed to transform GEOINT into a discipline more rooted in open-source intelligence (OSINT) to prepare for the rapid commercialization of GEOINT. Mr. Rasmussen drove the initiative that made NGA the first intelligence agency to open source software on GitHub and place apps into the Apple Store and Google Play. The ability to place government apps in commercial stores helped Pathfinder execute its "Tearline strategy" - deliver unclassified, original GEOINT content to a customer’s mobile device before they enter a secure facility or on the go. Mr. Rasmussen's current role with public-facing collaborative efforts grew from the campaign to maximize internal information sharing within the United States Intelligence Community (IC) This segment is apart of the Geospatial Frontier, an initiative of Project Geospatial. Socially-Conscious Geeks Bring Down Global Criminals with Christine Jung
Christine Jung is President of Blue Compass, an IT consulting firm specializing in Data Science and Innovation Management. Christine looks for ways to leverage Blue Compass’ innovation and data skills for positive social impact. She recently directed a virtual hackathon to combat child trafficking with almost 200 participants, including hackers around the world.   Child trafficking is a local problem with global connections; NoVA is actually one of the most active human trafficking hubs in the country with many victims hidden in plain sight. Unfortunately, technology can be both an enabler and a solution. Blue Compass sees these hackathons as an incubator for innovative solutions, as well as a way to inspire and create synergy amongst developers for making a positive social impact. Let’s join the fight to combat human trafficking using technology for good.

Young Professional Leadership in Defense Contracting with Mike Grochol
In this segment, Adam Simmons and Darryl Murdock interview Mike Grochol on the topic of Young Professional Leadership in Defense Contracting. Discussing what it takes in today’s world to be successful as a young professional in the defense contracting world.  The advantages: the youth factor and people wanting to be part of your success, being underestimated, the close-up an understanding of the mission.  The disadvantage: being underestimated (the double-edged sword), how lack of experience hurts you, how a limited network hurts you.  Ultimately it’s our ability (or inability) to build a team that can adequately address our market needs that sets us apart. You have to use the mystique to your advantage while proving over and over that you also know what it takes to win. This latest acquisition taught Mike so much the difference between a mom and pop small business and real enterprise expandable business. There are fundamental differences in how you plan and operate that are embedded in the walls.   About Us  Project Geospatial is a podcast hosted by Adam Simmons dedicated to increasing awareness of Geospatial Technology, education resources, and industry best practices. A Planet of 3 Billion - Chris Tucker
Chris Tucker is a polymath with deep roots in geography.  His awakening about human use of natural resources during the mid-1990s has now manifested into his new book entitled “A Planet of 3 Billion.”  Interviewed by Adam Simmons and Darryl Murdock, join us as Chris talks about the key concepts in how humans have not only reshaped the planet but how we must actively pursue information sharing and support policies that reduce and even reverse centuries-long indiscriminate use of our shared ecology without thought of what he refers to as “human exhaust.”  Rather than preaching the gospel of Gaia, Chris provides meaningful data that show where we have been, where we are today, and what we can individually do to help ourselves ensure nothing less than the survival of our own species.  He is inquisitive, intuitive and funny. Our bet is this is the first of many interviews we will have with Chris.  Tune in to the first in this new co-hosted series.  You can purchase Chris Tucker's Book, A Planet of 3 Billion at the below Amazon Link: https://www.amazon.com/Planet-Billion-Humanitys-Ecological-Destruction-ebook/dp/B07V9BC8XM/ About Us Project Geospatial is a podcast created by Adam Simmons dedicated to increasing awareness of Geospatial Technology, education resources, and industry best practices.
