63. Leap & Reap | Relationships 101 with Emma Wynne from The Single Wives

63. Leap & Reap | Relationships 101 with Emma Wynne from The Single Wives

I recently came across a quote on Instagram that read: "Fall in love with taking care of yourself, in mind, body and spirit." How true is this! Nobody can make us feel happy until we're happy with ourselves first. Only then can we open our hearts and minds to finding our ideal partner. It's just the way it is. Somebody who knows all about this is a woman who's about to reveal her entire life on national television, and all for a good cause. Her name is Emma Wynne - a radio announcer and youth worker based in Melbourne. Emma is one of four women taking part in a new Australian-based reality TV show called The Single Wives. This time next week, it will premiere on Channel 7. So what is it all about? Essentially it's a dating show which highlights the dramatic, emotional and romantic transformation of these four women - Sheridan, Sunnie, Nikki and of course Emma, who are all searching for their second chance at love post-divorce. Throughout the show, they're coached by world-renowned Life & Dating Coach, Matthew Hussey, all whilst being supported by their Host, radio broadcaster, Fifi Box. It's a reality TV show like no other. Today on The Promenade With Me Podcast you're going to hear Emma's story to date. It's fair to say that Emma is one incredible 28-year-old woman who's been on one huge relationship rollercoaster. However, since being on the show, her whole life has been transformed for the better. And so... In this interview Emma and I chat about: - Matthew Hussey and his incredible role on the show - How The Single Wives is going to inspire women across the country - What it's like filming a reality TV show - Emma's story and faith journey - Matthew Hussey's dating advice, no matter your age - How we can all become stronger and wiser Enjoy!

62. A Walk With Kristi Van Es | Offspring

Subscribe on iTunes | TuneIn | Stitcher Kolkata, India is about a 15-hour direct flight from Melbourne. And when I think of Kolkata, the first thing that pops up is Mother Teresa, the world-renowned Catholic nun and missionary. Mother Teresa's humanitarian efforts in Kolkata across the 20th century won her a Noble Prize and in 2016 she was canonised as a Saint, 19 years after her passing. Mother Teresa throughout her life did so many wonderful things. One of her most famous quotes is, "Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier." And that's exactly what Kristi Van Es, Founder and CEO of Offspring does on a daily basis. Offspring is a centre based in Kolkata (then Calcutta), India that provides a holistic approach in caring for women once they're released from the bondage of human trafficking. Kristi and her team offer specialised vocational training and support, so that each participant feels empowered and ready for employment at the conclusion of the program. And this is just the start. Kristi is an incredible Aussie with a huge heart. She truly is a modern-day Mother Teresa. In this special episode of The Promenade With Me Podcast, I chat to Kristi about her own personal journey, how she started her social enterprise Offspring, the dark cloud that is human trafficking, how she's learnt to live sustainably, the importance of self-defence and how we can all live a more confident and empowered life. So join me as I take a walk with Kristi Van Es. Enjoy! PS. Last week I sat down with an amazing Melbourne-based fashion designer. Her name is Santina Nicole Ponte, and her garments are both timeless and sophisticated. Santina established her fashion label, 'Santina Nicole' two years ago and since then has launched over 5 incredible collections. Yep. 25. In this Leap & Reap episode on The Promenade With Me Podcast, Santina shares some of her biggest business and life lessons. We also discuss her career journey, how she started up her business, the power of PR and social media marketing, how to recruit the right people, and what's to come in both her business as well as the online fashion world. 57. Wise Words | A Letter to Younger Me, Age 16

57. Wise Words | A Letter to Younger Me, Age 16

Subscribe on iTunes | TuneIn | StitcherIf you had the opportunity, what would you say to your younger self? What advice would you offer? This month I've spent quite a bit of time at an all-girls school based in Melbourne, running workshops and presentations to different groups of students. Most of the girls I worked with were in Year 10. As I sat with them, so many would open up and share what's been playing on their mind - their concerns, their beliefs and desires. Though the girls were well educated, opinionated and strong, they were still seeking support and guidance from somebody who's been in their shoes. I felt so honoured to have been given the opportunity to spend quality time with them. The experience brought me back to my high-school days, which as of next year concluded 10 years ago. How time flies! On Monday I took out a letter I wrote earlier this year. It was addressed to my younger self, age 16. And just like my work at this school in Melbourne, I set out to do the same thing in this letter - to help me see that I was never alone and that I was supported. It also aimed to remind me that beauty can't be bought and that my body is not my currency. Unsurprisingly, body image is a real issue at the moment, especially amongst teenage girls. As a teen, it's very easy to get caught up in the world of social media. Cyber bullying is at an all-time high, as well as those suffering with mental health issues. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), one in four teens have a mental illness, and one in three girls suffer from an anxiety disorder. So with all of this in mind, I thought I'd share my own personal letter to my 16-year-old self. Why? Well the messages within it really do transcend across generations. So no matter what gen you are, I know one of two things will happen - you'll gain a new kind of perspective or it'll refresh some of the things you deep down know to be true. Either way, may this Wise Words podcast empower you to live your best life. And if you're like me and work with young women, or are a young chick yourself, just know you are worthy and that you're destined for great things. PS. 56. A Walk With Sarah Archibald

56. A Walk With Sarah Archibald

[ Subscribe on iTunes | TuneIn | Stitcher ]Australia is known as the lucky country and I totally understand why. We're a diverse and multi-cultural nation filled with opportunity - a safe haven, one that's far away from devastation and war. We're not just lucky, we're extremely blessed. From a young age Sarah Archibald often dreamt about joining the Australian army. Her dad served in the army, her grandfather too, and so she wanted to make them proud by doing the same one day. At age 18 her wish became a reality. She made it, and she couldn't be more excited. She trained incredibly hard and gave it her all - blood, sweat and tears. In 2006, Sarah was deployed to Baghdad in Iraq. She was just one of two women in her division, amongst 110 men. The experience not only changed her but saved her. Sarah is one remarkable human. And I'm so happy to share her story with you today. This is the first time she's fully opened up about her journey. So prepare yourself - it's a BIG one. Sarah has not only earned herself a stack of medals for deployment and acts of bravery, but she's also the winner of the very first Invictus Games Medal, at the inaugural event held in London during 2014! Such an achievement! In this interview Sarah and I chat about: •Her work in Baghdad •What bravery means to her •Sarah's battle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) •How we can all be more courageous •Coping mechanisms when experiencing anxiety •How the Invictus Games ignited her spark again •And the moment she met Prince Harry. YEP! You heard correctly. This chat is both eye-opening and inspiring. We cover lots of ground including her time in Baghdad during the war. So if you're in need of some extra support and resources, please head to beyondblue.org.au. Ok! Now we're ready to take a walk with Sarah Archibald. PS. 55. Leap & Reap | How To Get Merry

55. Leap & Reap | How To Get Merry

When I run talks and workshops in schools, or at youth organisations and events, one of the things I love to say to young people is that they're never too young to achieve great things - age is no factor. We live in a digitally connected world. With technology continuously on the move, there's always new opportunities popping up. If a job or revolutionary career opportunity doesn't exist, why not create it!
There are so many young people doing extraordinary things. Emma and Carla Papas, two sisters from the Gold Coast in Queensland are one great example.

These two girls are most commonly known as The Merry Maker Sisters. Around 6 years ago they decided to embark on a new entrepreneurial adventure and they've never looked back. To date they've published an incredible cookbook 'Get Merry'. They created the #1 Recipe app 'Get Merry. And they host a #1 weekly podcast called 'Get Merry' with well over 135 episodes to its name!! And they even run weekly pilates and yoga classes. And if you thought that was all, they just recently launched their own online yoga, pilates and mindset program MerryBody.

So how did they get started? Great question right! Well I'm happy to let you know that I recently had a good old chat with these two incredibly bubbly entrepreneurs. And we explored this question and so much more! Such a fun interview.

Here's what you can expect:

•How their life-changing health journey ignited their passion to change the world
•How they built a global online community
•How they transitioned from intrapreneurs to entrepreneurs
•Tips to managing a side hustle
•How to reduce stress and friction in your own life
•The importance of self-reflection and self-acceptance
•How to embrace change and evolve
•...And I even weigh in too, as I share my own journey as a member of their first Merry Body yoga and Pilates programThis is one high-energy episode! Enjoy!

Change isn't always easy. Once we get comfortable and find our sweet spot, it's hard to leave. It's your safe haven - your security blanket. Whatever lies outside of that bubble is completely unknown to you.  I totally get it. Sometimes the BIG outside world can come across a bit scary. Too big. A little too much to grasp. But in order to grow, you have to give yourself the opportunity to pop that bubble. It may take you weeks, months or even years, but as long as you're open to the idea, I can assure you one day it will happen.    So why do this? In this episode of The Promenade With Me Podcast, Wise Words | A Guide to Being Perfectly Imperfect, I share my thoughts on this huge topic and also reveal the tools and exercises I used when I too stepped out of my comfort zone. Hope you get a lot out of this podcast! Enjoy lovely people :) And if you've got any questions regarding this episode, feel free to send me an email, via hello@giannalucas.com PS. 44. Leap & Reap | What Is Your Why?

44. Leap & Reap | What Is Your Why?

Why does the sun rise and set every day? Why does the blue light on our screens keep us up at night? Why is too much sugar bad for us? How many times do you question the reasons why we do what we do? I'm guessing a lot and you probably don't even know it. In 18th century Britain, there began an industrial revolution, where special-purpose machinery started taking over jobs that we used to do without aid. Other countries eventually caught on with factories being established across the globe. And as they say, the rest is history. Now in 2018 we're in the middle of another revolution - a digital one. New technologies are being produced, brand new jobs are being created - it's a booming industry. And because of this, we're spending a lot of our time online, and with Google at our fingertips, we can ask any question we like, but are we asking the right ones? Tough question right?! This is where Dustin Elliott comes in. Dustin is the host of the Why 2 Podcast. So what's it about? Glad you asked. Essentially it's jam-packed with awesome interviews. Featuring a whole lot of interesting and noteworthy people, Dustin uncovers their belief, values and mindset - in essence their 'why', and how it led to their success. In today's episode of The Promenade With Me Podcast, I sit down with Dustin to find out what he's learnt so far since launching his podcast, as well as why he started his show in the first place. Unsurprisingly he knows a lot about this stuff. He's an incredibly deep thinker with a super-cool outlook on life. Get notes up on your phone, or grab a pen and paper, because Dustin has a lot of great things to say. By the way, before we get into it, Dustin and I recorded this show in a library, which at times felt like we were inside a cathedral in the heart of Rome! The place has some pretty epic acoustics. So enjoy the ambience and of course my interview with Dustin Elliott! PS. 42. Wise Words | How To Overcome Your Fears

42. Wise Words | How To Overcome Your Fears

Who likes to face their fears? I'm guessing you're not jumping for joy at the idea! Or maybe you are. Adrenalin junkies seem to have it covered. They refer to bungee jumping, rock climbing and sky diving as a walk in a park. I beg to differ. If somebody said to me, Gianna would you like to sky dive tomorrow? I'd definitely say no. All I can think about is the worst case scenario in these sorts of situations. On the contrary, if I was asked to speak at a conference instead, I would immediately put my hand up. For many people, public speaking is their number one fear. The truth is, we're all different. We all have our likes and dislikes, fears and passions. And that's ok. In this Wise Words episode of The Promenade With Me Podcast, Gianna Lucas reflects on the moment she stepped or should we say jumped out in faith and faced her fears head on! Drawing on her own personal experiences, Gianna reveals how you too can overcome your fears. It's an episode not to miss! 41. A Walk With Christy & Erin | Grace Pads & Blessing In Disguise

41. A Walk With Christy & Erin | Grace Pads & Blessing In Disguise

Malawi is one of the world's poorest countries. 50% of girls in Malawi experience rape, that's 1 in 2 women - and these are just reported cases. Stealing another person's bike is a higher offence than a person molesting a woman. It's very common for girls in Malawi to miss one quarter of school each year just because of their period - something that none of us have an issue with thanks to proper sanitary care. There were no long-term solutions to help women manage something as simple as a period. So Christy Hildyard and Erin Boutros from Melbourne decided to do something about it. They joined forces and launched an initiative that's seriously changing the lives of girls in Malawi. Their business is called Blessing in Disguise. It's in essence an Australian charity that raises funds to support their overall mission based in Malawi called Grace Pads. In short, Grace Pads is an affordable and sustainable alternative to disposable pads, making it a much more desirable option for all Malawian women. 3 years on, they've given out 30,000 pads! Yes 30,000! Not only have they given thousands of women a better life, their production centre is based in the heart of Malawi which gives local women skills and a regular income. I am so excited about this interview. Erin and Christy are two amazing girls on a mission to change the world. If you love the sound of what these girls are all about, then I'm happy to report that they're about to launch two huge campaigns - one is called 'Changing The World with Grace' and the other is the 'Pass It On' Campaign. Here are all the details and how you can get involved: 'Changing the world with Grace' Campaign... Goal: For Australia to 'Give Grace' to 10,000 Malawian women. Each Store, Wash and Dry kit provides 18 months' worth of sanitary products and a Health & Hygiene education program. For $15, you can revolutionise daily life for a women living in one of the world's poorest communities. We are looking for 10,000 Aussies to sponsor 1 kit each. We all want to make a lasting difference in the world, and this is your chance! To purchase a 'Store, Wash & Dry' kit, visit our website store - [gracepads.com] 'Pass it on' Campaign... We have 100 'Store, wash & dry' tubs ready to be circulated throughout Australia. Once you receive a tub, you have 7 days to show and tell as many people as you can, share it on your social media, take it into work and then send it on to the most influential person you know to get them to do the same. If you are interested in being a part of the 'Pay It Forward' campaign, please contact us through our website and we will arrange a kit to be sent to you. Let's see how far the tubs can travel! 21. WISE WORDS - The Art Of Saying 'No'

Are you a girl who often says 'Yes!' to everything, until you reach burnout? When proving your devotion and commitment to someone or something, we often feel obliged to say yes to things. Why? For a few reasons. For one, you might not want to offend the person. Or you may want to show them you're proactive and super keen to go the extra mile. This is ok, but only if your putting your health first. We live in a world that tells us to always sprint, let alone walk. We're constantly connected to our phones and screens. When do we actually stop? We need to allocate time to recharge our mind, body and soul. In this episode of The Promenade With Me Podcast, Wise Words - The Art of Saying 'No', I share the key strategies I created and use to help me manage my time and priorities. 19. A Walk With Marissa Hyatt

19. A Walk With Marissa Hyatt

What would you love to do as a career? Where can you see yourself? In Episode 19 of The Promenade With Me Podcast, Gianna goes on 'A Walk With' American Wellness Coach, Marissa Hyatt. Marissa is a 26-year-old entrepreneur. Her mission is to share the positive impact essential oils can have on our health. Last June PWM Founder, Gianna Lucas met Marissa whilst holidaying in Italy. Her outlook on life and career journey is super relatable and inspiring. She wasn't born a businesswoman, instead she worked incredibly hard to make a name for herself in the wellness industry. Marissa understands that going out on your own is never easy. Stepping out of her comfort zone was tough task, but now 5 years on she's so much better for it. In this interview, Marissa opens up about her entrepreneurial journey - from leaving the workforce to starting a new venture. She also gives a whole heap of AMAZING advice and shares some of her favourite resources, perfect for start-up entrepreneurs. Enjoy! PS. 18. WISE WORDS - Tackling Transitions

18. WISE WORDS - Tackling Transitions

Are you in the middle of moving house or leaving a job? Are you recovering from a relationship break-up? Have you recently lost a loved one? If you are, you're probably experiencing some uneasiness and discomfort (which is completely understandable). Let's face it, nobody likes transitional periods.

The good news is, there are things we can do to make coping with life's changes that little bit easier. It's all about changing our mindset.

In EP.18 of The Promenade With Me Podcast I share my own method. I've called it, 'MOVE OUT, MOVE ON, MOVE UP.' Essentially it's 3 steps to help you evacuate that 'no man's land' feeling.

If you're ready to say goodbye to that 'limbo' feeling, then you'll love this episode!

Keep smiling,

Gianna Lucas xx

17. Leap & Reap - Budgeting & Property Investing With Bryce Holdaway

17. Leap & Reap - Budgeting & Property Investing With Bryce Holdaway

Ladies, listen up! Are you easily tempted to buy the latest fashion craze filling up your Instagram feed? I too am a victim of this. There's nothing wrong with making purchases like this, as long as you're following a sound budget. Now let's dig a little deeper. Where can you see yourself in say 10 years? Would you like to own an investment here and there? I'm a big advocate of forward planning. When I created my vision board in July, I asked myself these same questions. If you'd like to know more about this, just listen back to Episode 12 of The Promenade With Me Podcast. In this episode of The #PWMPodcast, we are doing things a little bit differently, as we've launched a new show within the podcast. It's called Leap & Reap. In short it runs a bit like a masterclass, but one you can listen to anywhere! Leap & Reap brings you one-on-one interviews, giving you all the tools you need so you can leap and reap in your own life! In this episode, I've invited property expert and money man, Bryce Holdaway to the show. Bryce is amazing. He's not only the co-host of The Property Couch, Australia's most listened to property podcast (over 2.2 million downloads), he's an accountant, author, TV presenter, and all-round good guy. Today Bryce shares some invaluable advice on how we can best budget our way to financial freedom. Sounds awesome right! This episode is a goodie.  Bryce is also giving you his Money Smarts System for FREE! All you need to do is head to giannalucas.com/episode-17/ to download your copy. Enjoy! PS. 16. WISE WORDS - How To Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone

16. WISE WORDS - How To Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone

How would you rate your life out of 10?

...Interesting question to ask, right?

Life is tumultuous - like the sea, it has its ebbs and flows. Regardless how any given day or week pans out, the most important thing is that you're pleased with the life you're creating for yourself. No matter what life throws at you, if you are genuinely happy, you'll be able to work through its challenges. It all comes down to your mindset.

Job satisfaction certainly plays a key role in our overall happiness, especially considering we spend most of our time at work.

Do you enjoy going to work? Do you feel your job is closely aligned with your passions and values? If your answer is 'Yes!' Excellent! Keep at it. If you're leaning towards 'No', then this 'Wise Words' episode of The Promenade With Me Podcast is for you.

A couple of years ago I asked myself these same questions as I wanted to ensure that my job tied in well with the life I was aiming to create for myself. Through this process I learnt so many incredible life lessons. One of the most profound teachings I learnt was the importance of 'stepping out of your comfort zone'. So in this episode of The #PWMPodcast, I thought I'd dig deep and share them all with you.

Got a question you'd like me to answer? After tuning into this episode, if you have any enquiries or would like to share your progress with me, feel free to send me an email to
