#57 Managing ADHD with routine, there is an app for that!? Introducing Brili for adults

#57 Managing ADHD with routine, there is an app for that!? Introducing Brili for adults

We all can agree that there is no shortage of productivity, task management, personal routine apps!

But did you know about this one app that is designed with the ADHD brain wiring in mind and makes routines come to life in a new way.

I am delighted to introduce to Brili, and in fact it has been around for a few years, the team has evolved the app to do so much more and share their exciting news on the episode.

In this episode I talk to Susanne and Sanam, the co-CEOs of the app and they share their personal story and why this app is so different from all the other ones out there.

Susanne and Sanam are the co-CEOs of Brili, a volunteer-based tandem from Munich and Berlin, Germany. Brili offers app solutions to individuals facing neurodiversity challenges like ADHD and ADD to manage their daily routines and habits. Their kids version has been out since 2015. The new adult version will launch March 1st.

In 2018, Susanne found the Brili app and decided to try it with her own son. It was a game changer for the whole family, so when the founder communicated that he’d likely end services, she made a bold decision to take over the company as a family. Sanam was on a personal journey to create personal impact alongside her corporate working world. So when her in-law told her the Brili story, it felt like a sign of fate to help keep Brili alive.

As parents and family members of individuals ADHD, Susanne and Sanam appreciate and understand the importance of routines in daily life with their personal experience. Brili’s vision is to embrace the uniqueness of every individual and help form a society without stigma.

#56: How to leverage your ADHD and step into your power | David Giwerc

#56: How to leverage your ADHD and step into your power | David Giwerc

My guest David Giwerc, Master Certified ADHD Coach, Entrepreneur, Founder/President of the ADD Coach Academy, shared a very powerful statement during this episode, “when you identify your strengths, you're identifying a natural, innate talent and a way of creating excellence consistently in your life. But that's not enough because, without the sustaining mechanism, Or the source that activates that strength, those strengths will die. And this is especially true in ADHD because ADHD is a deficit of interest. It's, it's the challenge of boredom, but interest isn't even enough.”

You are in for a treat, consider this episode as a training session, during this episode, David shared extremely helpful insights on:

  • Identifying the importance of focusing on strengths, especially character strengths
  • Why we look at the different categories of strengths
  • What does executive function in the brain have to do with strengths?

During the last 20 minutes of the episode he goes deeper into the following:

  • An effective way to start your day to get the most out of it
  • Understanding the importance of how you process information and how it impacts learning
  • Definition of Executive Function and it works with ADHD
  • How to manage big emotions

I was trained and coached by David himself for a big portion of my ADD Coach training program at ADDCA, so it was my absolute honor to have my mentor/coach be on my show. I am forever grateful for the impact that he has made in my life and the lives of many who have taken his courses and teachings at the ADD Coach Academy.

#53: ADHD, and not doing it alone! | Guest Brooke Schnittman

#53: ADHD, and not doing it alone! | Guest Brooke Schnittman

One thing I've learned about working with my ADHD clients, especially business owners and professionals is that they have the need/urge to do everything themselves and are very reluctant to ask for support.

Even though they are truly gifted in so many ways and highly capable of taking on a lot, it does eventually catch up to them and that's one of the reasons they end up in my coaching practice. Deligation or Asking for support is not an automatic default mode since most of their lives they have been working so hard to prove to others that they are capable.

In this episode, my guest and colleague Coach Brooke Schnittman and I will talk about the strategic ways of seeking collaboration and asking for support so that you can continue to focus on your strengths while building a solid network to avoid burnout.

Stay to the end of this episode, we have a special announcement to share with you.

#51: The science behind ADHD Memory Challenges | Guest Jeff Copper

#51: The science behind ADHD Memory Challenges | Guest Jeff Copper

On today’s episode, we’re joined by special guest, ADHD, and Attention coach, also the host of Attention Talk Radio, Jeff Copper. We’re discussing memory, and specifically working memory: the ability to hold thoughts in your mind, organize them, and sequence them, without forgetting them.

This topic is hugely important for people with ADHD, but it’s not always talked about.

We’ll explore:

  • Why focus and attention issues are only surface symptoms, and the real issue is with working memory
  • How working memory works differently in neurotypical and neurodivergent people
  • What role procrastination plays in how we work, and why it might just be a good thing
  • Why high-tech solutions and apps can be counterproductive for people with ADHD
  • The different types of cues and reminders we use, and why they’re so critical for us
  • How impulsive interrupting relates to working memory (and what to do about it!)
  • How activating your working memory is like booting up a computer...and what happens when the power goes out
  • Why the pandemic and our new, more isolated work environments have made working so much harder for ADHD-ers

...and much more. I’m so excited about this particular episode, and I personally find it liberating because Jeff shares important insights that can help us tear off the misleading labels, understand the neuroscience, and finally do something about it. I invite you to listen and discover the role working memory plays in your life!

#48: ADHD - How an Athletic Mindset can help with Focus | Guest Dr. Sarah Cheyette

Contrary to what is known about ADHD, individuals with ADHD CAN actually focus! When we are interested and have a clear understanding of the tasks and know that it aligns with our goals we can become focused, even hyper-focused, and do a bang-up job.  However, when we find a task boring, challenging to break into chunks, and ultimately the end results too far in the future for us to gain immediate gratification we have a harder time to focus.

In this episode, I spoke with Dr. Sarah Cheyette about focus and ADHD, she shared her view on how tapping into our Athletic Mind Set can help with gaining and sustaining focus.  This is a super simple process to follow! Often it is the simple solutions that produce the most results.

She brings a powerful professional perspective on the benefits and limitations of ADHD medication, and the many behavioral adaptations people with ADHD must embrace to thrive with their condition. #46: ADHD - Paying attention to your Mindset Matters | Guest Jeff Copper

#46: ADHD - Paying attention to your Mindset Matters | Guest Jeff Copper

In the past few years, as I've been going through coach training and coaching professionals and entrepreneurs, I have seen a theme around the importance of paying attention to mindset as it relates to their ADHD and how they were managing it before and after hitting their tipping point.

Often these adults come to me to learn how to manage their day more effectively, be more productive, and learn new tips and tricks on managing ADHD. As we start the coaching process they start to see that managing their ADHD has a lot to do with their mindset and perspective on how they respond and react to challenging situations.

In this episode, I interviewed Jeff Copper - ADHD coach, who has a few insights on why it is so important to pay attention to our mindset first before we dig into the tactical things.

He talks about the struggle that some will have around their ADHD diagnosis such as, who they are and who they were supposed to be. In this conversation, Jeff said, “Let's open up our mind and change our mindset and not define it to be a specific way.” this is such a powerful statement as it relates to the diagnosis of ADHD, we can choose to focus on the possibilities of the unique brain wiring instead of creating tension and stress on focusing on the things we have a hard time with.

I invite you to listen to this episode with an open mind and listen for opportunities where you can experience a shift in mindset as Jeff explains his approach to managing ADHD.

#45: ADHD -Benefits of Yoga - mind, body connection | Guest Esther Nagle

One of the most effective ways for ADHDers to manage their intense emotions is to pause and pay attention before reacting. Easier said than done, and this is a skill that does not come naturally. So how can we sharpen this skill? Yoga is one way to do this. Paying attention to our breath and creating movement in the body to get the energy flowing so that it's not bottled up in one place in our body.

In this episode, my guest Esther Nagle, Yoga Teacher, shares her own struggles with ADHD, Addiction, and how Yoga transformed her life and managing her ADHD.

She shares a few tips on how to get started, why it is so beneficial to slow down and pay attention to your breath, and how to manage overwhelm with breathwork.

I hope you will be as inspired as I was by listening to her story and make small changes to get your body moving and manage your emotions by paying attention to your breath.

About Esther Nagle:

Esther Nagle is a sober, tattooed, single mother, rock chick Yoga teacher with ADHD. Sober for 6 years, and diagnosed with ADHD just last year at 46, Esther has had a ‘colorful’ life, spontaneous and adventurous even in sobriety.

Esther has written a book about her recovery and the Yoga that guided her there and now focuses her teaching and writing on helping women with ADHD calm the emotional storms and find inner peace. Using, you’ve guessed it, the same tools that helped her to achieve sobriety!

#44: ADHD - Challenges with starting tasks and completion | Guest Rick Green

In May of 2020, I did an IG TV interview with Rick Green - Founder of totallyadd.com on the topic of why ADDers have challenges starting tasks and even following through.   Rick shared so many practical insights and approaches that I wanted to capture and share the audio file here.

These are some of our talking points :

  • Why it is important to get clear when starting
  • How overwhelm can get in the way of starting a task
  • BoringTasks that have a lot of emotion behind them
  • how to work with your strengths to get through a task
  • how self-esteem plays a big role in task initiation and follow-through
  • the power of visualization can make a difference in your approach
  • Perfectionism is another hurdle to overcome when it comes to task initiation and follow-through
  • why it's beneficial to get have a support system around you to hold keep you on track (towards the 20 min mark, this piece of his approach really was beneficial for me)

About Rick Green:

After he received a diagnosis of ADHD he began a 20-year exploration of this disorder. #43: ADHD and Medication | Guest Dr. Sarah Cheyette

#43: ADHD and Medication | Guest Dr. Sarah Cheyette

It's one thing to digest and go through the emotions of a late in life diagnosis of Adult ADHD but then comes the big question of "should I take meds or not?".   I have heard so many different viewpoints of ADHD medication from - it's a big pharma conspiracy, it takes away your creativity, they don't work, I am scared to try them, to they have been the best thing for me and this list goes on.

So I decided to bring on an expert in this field and have a candid conversation about ADHD and medication.  In the episode, Dr. Sarah Cheyette paints a very clear picture of this topic.  From when you could consider meds and ADHD to why it may not work for some and works well for others.   I could have talked to her for hours on this topic as she is a wealth of knowledge.

So if you are considering and have questions about Medication and ADHD treatment this episode is a must listen to.

#38: ADHD and Radical Self Acceptance | Guest Diann Wingert

#38: ADHD and Radical Self Acceptance | Guest Diann Wingert

In this episode, I was so inspired by Diann's story on radical self-acceptance.  I thoroughly enjoyed her real talk style, wisdom, and her story to Radical Self Acceptance.

One of the common themes that I come across working with professionals and entrepreneurs are around self-acceptance.   Even though most of them have been able to achieve amazing things in their life, there is this undercurrent running in their minds around how they truly view themselves and if are unresolved issues during stressful times the inner critic becomes loud with voices of "not good enough", "I should be doing it better", "I am not pushing hard enough".  I am sure you can relate.

I enjoy listening to Diann's podcast so much that I invited her to my show so that she can give us some of her insights on self-acceptance.  I am sure you will relate in some way to her story and hope that you gain a few insights through her wisdom.

Be sure to subscribe as I will be having Diann back on the show for another insightful conversation.

About Diann Wingert:

Diann Wingert is a mindset and productivity coach for female entrepreneurs who identify with the traits of ADHD, officially diagnosed or not. During her 20-year career as a licensed psychotherapist, Diann saw many brilliant and ambitious women struggle with unidentified ADHD, including Diann herself.  Since her own mid-life diagnosis, she now mentors women who are “driven but distracted” to overcome procrastination, perfectionism, and people-pleasing so they can craft a life and business they love.

#36: ADHD - Master your State, not your goals

#36: ADHD - Master your State, not your goals

When it comes to goal setting and achieving, I no longer pay attention to it and it has been life-changing. For me, it is about truly mastering the state of mind that I am to reach my ultimate vision for life, family, health, community, and business. You might say, well Cathy, it starts with goal setting!? Yes and NO!!!! What if you do have a goal, but underneath of the goal lays a whole bunch of fear, doubt, guilt, and catching up to the "Joneses". Which most often some crap will interfere with achieving your goal. The way I have learned to see it is that so long as you have not addressed all the underlying crap that is behind that goal, achieving it will be a struggle. You will be that hamster on a wheel, just going and going and not getting anywhere or you just simply give up. But what if there was a much easier way to get to your destination? Once I learned this concept Mastering my State, I no longer focus on goal setting, to-do lists, or worrying about being productive. In this podcast episode, I will share with you what the process is.

Let's keep the conversation going,

#35: Six perspectives of late In life diagnosis of ADHD

#35: Six perspectives of late In life diagnosis of ADHD

There are the 6 perspectives of late in life diagnosis of ADHD for professionals/entrepreneurs ⠀⠀

My ADHD is:⠀

1. holding me back from living my life Victim ⠀

2. best under stress, I don't want to change Resist⠀

3. it is what it is! I am doing the best I can Rationalize ⠀

4. putting my needs first for once and take care of me! Self - Compassion ⠀⠀

5. finding out how I can make the most of my brain Opportunity⠀

6. I am the creator of my own destiny, I choose to take charge of my brain Creator⠀

I am sure you can relate to each of these lenses/perspectives but ... ⠀

which one has the most energy for you and is leading your emotions/behavior? ⠀⠀

Well, there is a way to measure this and once I learned about my actual perspective and how it was impacting me it was a game-changer on how I manage my ADHD. ⠀

You’ve taken personality tests… but now it’s time for an attitudinal assessment. ⠀You’re probably familiar with personality tests like Myers Briggs, DiSC, and Enneagram. ⠀

These valuable tools can help you understand your strengths, embrace your weaknesses, and discover how you can work to your full potential. In that way, they typically support a “work with what you have” approach to adapting your behavior and pursuing personal excellence. ⠀⠀

I have been using an effective tool to truly measure how an individual currently perceives and approaches work and life (it shows which number is their primary perspective) then we start the work to move to the next level. Just one level of shit can make a huge change in their life.

As part of my coaching process, I use an assessment that has been a critical part of creating Transformation for my clients who are able to move past their diagnosis and harness the assets of their ADHD brain. ⠀

If you want to know more about the Energy Leadership Index Assessment go to readysetchoose.com or book a call with me to learn more.

#34: ADHD - Managing the inner critic "the Gremlin" in times of transition

If you ever caught yourself in that place of "should I stay or should I go" when it comes to your professional career or changing business ventures this episode is for you.

The inner critic or as I like to refer to it "the Gremlin" shows its ugly head to really keep up stuck when we are ready to make a move.  As I continue my work with high performing professional and successful entrepreneurs there is one major theme that continues to show up. Unaddressed negative self-talk.   Regardless of how kick-ass you have been and how far you have come, if you have not done the deep work to really tame the inner critic, it will show it's ugly head at times when you about to make a big leap into your next kick-ass adventure.

In this episode, I share with you some of the ways you can tame the beast and to really evaluate why it was even there in the first place.

Recently I have seen a peak in my listeners, I want to welcome you to my show and also to let you know how much I appreciate that you take the time to list to my stream of thoughts.

I invite you to DM me on Instagram ProudlyADHD_coachCathy with your questions.  I will respond to you either directly or through an episode such as this one.   In fact, this episode was inspired by a question sent by one of my listeners.

#33 ADHD - How to stay on track when new shiny things come your way

#33 ADHD - How to stay on track when new shiny things come your way

How do you manage to stay on track when the shinny new ideas/projects come knocking on your door?

I used to get in the trap of getting derailed often when I was in corporate life and sometimes it worked out and other time I was left with regret. I used to jump ship often until I learned about my brain and why I was doing this often.

I wanted to share my views and learning with you on this as I now see this in my clients that I coach and when they really dig deep and understand how to manage “jumping ship” or “oooh shiny new thing” it becomes a game-changer for their professional role or business.

Please know that I am not saying we should avoid shiny new things, there is a more strategic way to go about it, and also once you understand why your brain is craving it you can make a solid decision to either jump or step in with caution or avoid it altogether. Cause you are the master of your brain after all and you should be calling the shot not your brain or other people’s shiny new ideas/projects.

#32: ADHD & Social Skills - How to read the room, increase your social radar | Guest Caroline Maguire

#32: ADHD & Social Skills - How to read the room, increase your social radar | Guest Caroline Maguire

In this episode, Caroline Maguire, Author of “Why will no one play with me”? talks to us about how to read the room, how to really understand what's going on in social settings.

Those of us with ADHD brain, that fast brain that can think of bazillion thoughts in seconds can get in trouble in social settings and feel awkward, or out of place or even worse it can cause us to lose a job or a business deal.

We might come across as rude because we tend to interrupt too much. Or we can make people feel uncomfortable because we share too much and not to mention if we are in a middle of a story we can exhaust the listener because we have the urge to tell them all the little details of the story and not to mention we may even digress a few times because we thought of other related things to add to the story.

So you get the picture! and I am sure you can relate.

So how the heck do you “work a room”, “Manage a conversation?” and “win friends and influence people?” with an ADHD brain. Well, this episode will address a lot of these topics.

Be sure to listen to the section where Caroline talks about friendships and the stages of friendship at the 24:00 minute mark and further goes into how to be an effective listener “be a social spy”.

Get your pen and paper ready to take notes, the entire episode is full of insight and strategies

#30: ADHD Diagnosis and Treatment | Guest: Dr. Rannie Tao

#30: ADHD Diagnosis and Treatment | Guest: Dr. Rannie Tao

In this episode, I speak with my family physician Dr. R. Tao. W discuss ADHD diagnosis/assessment, especially in adults. I felt it was important that I bring her on my show to give a perspective from a Physician who has gone above and beyond to understand ADHD and be able to recognize the signs in her patients and empower them to manage their mental health.

we covered the following areas:

  • Stressors and symptoms
  • How anxiety or other mood disorders go hand in hand with ADHD and it is important to assess for ADHD
  • Dr. Tao mentions the ASRS - adult ADHD self-report scale. The ASRS touches on symptoms of hyperactivity and symptoms of impulsivity in inattention. “It's one of the easiest scales we can administer in the office setting. It doesn't take too much time. And I do often find if somebody does have ADHD, when they go over that scale, they say to me, Oh, this is exactly me.”
  • Women and ADHD and how often they are not diagnosed till adulthood.
  • ADHD treatments - she goes deep into her strategy on medication approach and also talks about the non-medication route, nutrition, coaching, counseling, and much more.
  • Risks of untreated ADHD, especially in children who were not diagnosed and later on will struggle in adulthood. She gives great examples here at @15:00min mark.
  • be sure to listen to the end as she has an inspiring message for those who are late in life diagnosed with ADHD.

About Dr. Rannie Tao:

Rannie received her Medical Degree from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada after completing an undergraduate degree specializing in Pharmacology. She then completed her Family Medicine Residency in Vancouver, with a special interest in mental health, chronic pain, and geriatric medicine. Rannie enjoys being a family doctor because she is able to journey alongside her patients and families, learning with them, while providing a continuity of care. #28: Shift in perspective with ADHD Coaching | audio clip of a coaching call

#28: Shift in perspective with ADHD Coaching | audio clip of a coaching call

What is ADHD coaching? how does it work? how can someone with ADHD benefit from coaching? These are some of the questions I had when I was diagnosed and I now see it come up often in the ADHD community online.
In this episode, I share a snippet of an actual ADHD coaching session that I facilitated. Pls note that this person has ADHD , is not a client of mine, they agreed to be on the show/recording and wanted to experience ADHD coaching.
The session starts with her wanting to address her lack of motivation - as the session progressed we talked about her values, then in the middle of the call you hear a shift in her energy as we got deeper into her values. I am super excited to share this episode with you and truly grateful that he accepted my invitation to come to my show.  We talked about how to adjust to new working conditions Ie. working from home. He talked about the importance of creating meaningful connections. The value of working with a coach to manage your ADHD, to disclose or not about your ADHD in the workplace, and finally his point of view on what steps to take if you have been diagnosed late in life with ADHD.

#24: How to stay calm in times of big emotions | Guest: Dr. Jody Carrington

Get ready for a jam-packed episode full of light bulb moments with, its funny, loud, and extremely informative. Get your note pad ready cause you want to take notes on - Emotional regulation, Trauma, you are wired for hard times! I talked with my special guest Dr. Jody, she is a dynamic speaker, with so much passion and loads of powerful messages. She talks about emotional regulation, “how to stay calm in times of big emotion”. How to manage our emotions we when are losing our mind. Due to our unique wiring, we tend to lose our minds much quicker and have a hard time managing our emotions.  She gives a few tips on how to manage our emotions (name it to tame it) and also how to teach it to our children. We also talked about trauma and the impact on the neurodiverse brain. She talks about the 10 experiences that could cause trauma before the age of 18 and how it can affect you in adulthood. This portion of the episode is a must listen to. Be sure to listen to the end as she has a very important message for adults with ADHD. You will want to listen to this episode a few times, it is that informative and engaging. How to stay calm in times of big emotion About Dr. Jody Carrington: Over the past 15 years, Dr. Jody Carrington has assessed, treated, educated, and empowered some of our most vulnerable and precious souls on the planet. She is a child psychologist by trade, but Jody rarely treats kids. The answer lies, she believes, in the people who hold them. Especially when kids have experienced trauma, that’s when they need big people the most. Some of her favorites include educators, parents, first responders, and foster parents. Jody has shifted the way they think and feel about the holy work that they do. Before Jody started her own practice and speaking across the country, she worked at the Alberta Children’s Hospital on the inpatient and day treatment units where she held families with some of the difficult stories. They taught her the most important lesson: we are wired to do hard things. We can handle those hard things so much easier when we remember this: we are wired for connection. This all started when Jody received her Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from the University of Alberta. She completed a year-long internship with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police during that time and worked alongside families struggling with chronic illness at the Ronald McDonald House. She received her Master’s degree in Psychology at the University of Regina and completed her Ph.D. there as well, before completing her residency in Nova Scotia. Her first book, Kids These Days: A Game Plan for (Re)Connecting with those we Teach, Lead & Love, came out in 2019 and sold 20,000 copies in just three months. It is now on Amazon’s Best Sellers List. #23: Neurodiversity Career Platform | Guest: Alex Corner

#23: Neurodiversity Career Platform | Guest: Alex Corner

In this episode I talk to the founder of Alex Corner, Founder of Amforus.com, “The World's First Platform Connecting Talented Candidates with Dyslexia, ADHD, or Autism With Inclusive Companies That Assess Skills, Experience and Not Education, or Interview Techniques.”
Alex shares his personal story of his late in life diagnosis of ADHD and saw the opportunity to create a career platform for job seekers who are neurodiverse and match up with the organizations who are ready to work with their unique skill set.
some of the points of this conversation:

you can have an even more successful career once you really understand your brain wiring better and how to seek out careers that you are best suited for.
What organizations need to do in order to tap into the neurodiverse talent pool, taking a truly inclusive approach during the interview process. Take the time to really understand the candidate and their strengths.

about Alex Corner:
Alex Corner is a financial services and technology sales, business development executive, entrepreneur, and investor.
He started his career on Wall Street and was responsible for managing multiple global businesses using his creative innovative idea to launch some of the most successful revenue-producing platforms.
After a 20 year Wall Street career across the UK, Hong Kong, and settling in the USA, Alex transitioned from front office trading into technology, selling digital transformation solutions to multi-cloud environments, event-driven, and streaming data. (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, DaaS) migrating companies to modern architecture.
During the decision for a career change, he was diagnosed with adult dyslexia and ADHD, which had prevented him from completing college, and ruled out specific jobs. Fortunately, he was able to rely on experience and network. Reflecting on the experience, he studied hiring techniques, criteria, and behavioral neurodiverse analysis. Watching his son demonstrate creativity, test results ignored and witnessed people who had tremendous coding skills rejected due to poor interview techniques.
This got Alex working on solving a problem, how were people without a track record, or exceptional grades, a global network going to secure a job they love without the grades or degree companies required, although they had tremendous talent. – This is why
Amforus.com was created.

#20: Finding your passion does not always equal happiness!

#20: Finding your passion does not always equal happiness!

In this episode, I talk about why following your passion or that idea that is so inspiring may not always lead to long term happiness or fulfillment. If You are at a crossroads to start a new career or business venture, you may be inspired by some ideas and things you have always wanted to do. I would say take your next few steps carefully. I often hear "but I thought this new career was the one" or "the new business I started was going to be a success but, I am struggling" . One simple step that most of us don't pay attention to is giving enough time and attention to understanding our strengths and what we are really good at. I go deeper into this concept in this episode.

#18: Is your Brain wiring holding you back at work? | Guest: Sherri Cannon

In this episode, I speak with Executive Coach, and Faculty member of ADD Coach Acadamy, Sherri Cannon.
She shares how she moved from up the corporate ladder from sales to becoming a leadership development Coach/Facilitator in Silicon Valley. Like my previous guests, Sherri was also diagnosed with Adult ADHD late in life.
During this episode we talk about:

how ADHD can hold you back from reaching your ultimate potential and impact your work/business
Understanding what your style of learning is and how you can tap into your strengths so you can succeed at work
the importance of actively understanding your brain so that you make it work for you instead of you being reactive to it, especially in times of stress, change and transition
How to address the imposter syndrome when it comes to ADHD and how working with the right coach you can remove limiting thoughts that have held you back

About Sherri Cannon
This is how I became an ADHD coach.
In career #1, I was a consumer products sales rep/manager (that’s a classy way of saying I sold soap and fabric softener to grocery stores and loved it). In the second, I traveled the public seminar circuit leading communication and leadership skills workshops around North America.
When I developed a love for change management work with business teams, it took me to Silicon Valley, home of fast companies, geeks and a higher than average percentage of neuro-diverse folks. As an Executive Coach and Group Facilitator, I found my people and my calling. About that time, I also got my own ADHD diagnosis.
In 2015, I added ADHD coaching to my practice. I’ve found my happy place here — coaching leaders, individual contributors, entrepreneurs, retirees, and career seekers to live more fulfilling lives by understanding and partnering effectively with their unique brain wiring.
As you can see from my own path, going toward what calls and interests me has opened new cool doors.
As I went through my own ADDCA training, I hoped I’d one day teach others and help them experience the richness and reassurance of this ADHD community. When ADDCA invited me to join the faculty in 2018, it was the perfect intersection of my love of teaching with my desire to share this wealth with other learners.
In 2019, I proudly joined the PAAC Board of Directors as Volunteer Chair and I look forward to starting my PAAC accreditation process in 2020.
