#6: Living a Fashionably Sustainable Life - Chelsey Evans (ETSY - Senior Manager, Sustainability)

Have you ever wondered what 2 sustainability and fashion junkies talk about when their together? Then you'll love this episode. And if not...it's a great conversation about caring about both style and sustainability, and a whole lot more!

Chelsey Evans is a good friend, and someone I've long admired for her career in Impact + Sustainability. Until recently, Chelsey was the Sustainability lead at Nordstrom; and she just embarked on an equally juicy role with Etsy as Senior Manager, Sustainability.

Join us as we talk about all things sustainable apparel, going green during COVID and how to carve a career path in sustainability.

Thanks for listening in! Please give it a share/like/review!

Ep#4: Small & Mighty // PUBLIC HABIT co-founders, Sydney & Zakhar: challenging traditional apparel production

Ep#4: Small & Mighty // PUBLIC HABIT co-founders, Sydney & Zakhar: challenging traditional apparel production

This week's episode is a conversation with the co-founders of Public Habit, a beautiful clothing line that not only utilizes responsibly sourced natural fibers, BUT is also working to challenge the traditional apparel production process. They have partnered with factories, that they have scrutinized to meet their ethical and sustainability standards, to produce on-demand clothing. Meaning they only make what a customer orders - eliminating waste in production and forecasting.

Recorded remotely on March 7, 2020.

Due to coronavirus, we had a virtual chat from the safety of our homes. I met Syndey & Zakhar in 2019 and have had the chance to work with them in navigating the sustainable apparel landscape and messaging/branding ideas. I visited one of their pop-up retail sales in December 2019 to see the actual products in-person and was blown away by the quality and prices. They are making luxury natural fibers accessible and sustainable.

I love this conversation as it walks through a fascinating entrepreneur journey and path to creating a mindful apparel company, challenging every traditional production model along the way.

Ep#1: The Renewal Workshop founder Nicole Bassett \\ Diverting clothing from landfills

Thanks for checking out the first episode of Pulling the Threads, this adventure took me to The Renewal Workshop headquarters in Cascade Locks, Oregon for a week of learning about their business. My week of shadowing, working various jobs and studying their company ended with a conversation with the co-founder, Nicole Bassett. The Renewal Workshop is the leading provider of circular solutions for apparel and textile brands. They are organized around the idea that businesses have multiple responsibilities for generating positive, lasting value.

The interview in this episode was recorded August 2019 at The Renewal Workshop headquarters in Cascade Locks, OR.
