Jason and Lisa are back after a long hiatus to discuss a rather bland 2010's horror movie that could've been SO MUCH BETTER! Also it's based on a board game. Kinda.

Lisa and Jason, for the first time ever, welcome a guest to discuss the recent "hit" movie "Five Nights at Freddy's", Bear! Bear is a super fan of the video game series and knows all the insider information in regards to this movie and the connections to the games!

When is a remake not a remake? When it's a movie more about the "original" movie! Jason and Lisa are back to cover "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" a movie that takes place in a universe where the 1976 film of the same name is just that, a film. But the killer that the movie is about is now stalking the town! Is the killer a copycat, a fan of the movie, or did the original killer return? 

Guess what kind of movie Jason LOVES and Lisa hates? Wacky action-style comedies!! It is time to discuss "Stretch" starring Patrick Wilson, Ed Helms, Jessica Alba, and some unnamed actor playing a weird billionaire!!

Jason and Lisa turn their attentions to this little unknown film called "Not Safe For Work", starring 3-tier actors who's appeared in big blockbuster films and directed by Joe Johnston, who directed "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids" (?!?). 

Jason and Lisa return to talk about a slightly obscure Blumhouse Productions film called "13 Sins" about a down on his luck who needs to do 13 terrible things in order to win a whole lot of money. Also there's some discussion on whether or not this is a dark comedy.

Jason and Lisa have returned with more Blumhouse Productions goodness! They take a look at a very divisive film from 2014, "Oculus", written and directed by Mike Flanagan, who is hot right now! And only someone like Flanagan could've done a movie like this, before blowing up.

Because the world is cruel (or wikipedia is super unreliable), there's a movie Jason and Lisa missed on their journey through every Jason Blum-produced film ever made. So sadly, we have to go BACK to 2005 and take a look at this pure drama film starring Uma Thurman, Juliette Lewis, Gena Rowlands, and Ben Gazzara. One of us understood it and one of us was bored by it. CAN YOU GUESS WHO?!?

Jason and Lisa are BACK with another Blumhouse CLASSIC...well not quite. It's time to look at the FIFTH Paranormal Activity film "The Marked Ones" which features a tired trope AND a lazy plot device.

Jason and Lisa are back and they're back to the original Blumhouse list, which unfortunately means they have to talk about a weird blip in Jason Blum's filmography and that's Best Night Ever, a comedic found footage film written and directed by the idiots who made the "Movie Movies" (Epic Movie, Superhero Movie, etc) and it's a mess that needs to be heard to be believed. 

Jason and Lisa return to cover the final 2 episodes of The Thing About Pam and they talk about the most insane crap that has ever been put on TV. 

Jason and Lisa are back to cover episodes 3 and 4 of The Thing About Pam, a show Blumhouse Productions made about a real life murder case. In this episode we go over the trial of Rus Faria and how much of a terrible person Pam Hupp is. 

Deciding to take a break from the movies, Jason and Lisa are taking a look at the TV show Blumhouse Productions made earlier in 2022, The Thing About Pam, a show based on a real murder involving a woman named Pam Hupp, played by Renee Zellweger in strange makeup. Also discussed is how Keith Morrison is the man, gas station drinks, and t-shirts from Rhode Island. 

Would you see a movie made by Blumhouse Productions, directed by the same person who directed "Twilight" and had the tone of a Lifetime movie? No? That's ok, no one else did either. But Jason and Lisa did and oh boy. 

Jason and Lisa are back and they discuss the sequel Insidious Chapter 2, which picks up where the first film left off and we get more spooky shit. Also Jason tells a very hilarious story about the time he went to see this in theaters. 

Jason and Lisa are back to not only discuss the movie, The Purge, but to discuss what they would do during the actual Purge, what exactly does "all crime is legal" mean, and how awkward shits gonna be the following day. 

We've always said that we'll cover every Blumhouse Productions film, for better or for worse. Well, we are at one of the worst ones. Jason and Lisa struggle to find anything to say about Rob Zombie's art film Lord of Salem. 

We've seen Blumhouse Productions handle haunted houses, haunted kids, creepy demons, and cancer, how does Blumhouse handle....ALIENS?!?! Jason and Lisa take a look at this 2013 film starring Keri Russel, J.K Simmons in a cameo role, and about 5 minutes of aliens in this hour and a half movie! Fun! 

This week on Between The Scares, Lisa overcomes her fears and Jason goes into therapist mode as we cover The Bay, the last Blumhouse film of 2012. The Bay, a mockumentary found footage film, deals with tiny bugs and Lisa does not like tiny bugs. So she deserves a medal for getting through this episode is what we're saying. 

Just when you thought it was safe to turn your cameras back on, it's the 4th installment of the Paranormal Activity franchise! Jason and Lisa talk about webcams, MacBooks, how scary Katie Featherston is running, demons still being dicks, and more! 

Jason and Lisa have returned and they're taking on 2012's "Sinister", a film about a true crime writer investigating a families murder and finds DEMONS!!! It's always demons!! 

Also, there's some talk about future projects Blumhouse will have in 2022 (and 2023 technically) and Lisa is NOT HAPPY about one of them! Get ready for rage like you've never heard before!

In the last episode of 2021, Jason and Lisa take on a raunchy comedy featuring 3 of the 5 guys from Super Troopers and Club Dread, where a guy is unable to perform while married to Olivia Munn and must do an Oceans 11 on a sperm bank. This movie is not for the easily offended, nor if you don't like the word "sperm". 

Jason and Lisa are back to their regularly scheduled program and talk about Paranormal Activity 3, the prequel of the series which ends up being any better than it has any right to be. There's creepy ghosts named Toby, flying furniture, children climbing furniture, hot babysitters, and dopey comic relief guys. 

A new Paranormal Activity film dropped last week so you know Jason and Lisa had to cover it. But IS it a Paranormal Activity movie? Now that's the question! 

Sometimes life gets in the way and it causes a delay even while celebrating #spookyseason. But Lisa and Jason are back! And this time they're covering two films from Amazon's Welcome to the Blumhouse, Bingo Hell and The Manor. Also they finally say "Blumhouse" and "Jason Blum" correctly AND there's a special guest star named Desmond The Floof! Enjoy!

It's the first time Jason and Lisa are covering a brand new movie for the podcast! They discuss the very divisive film Halloween Kills, which is a follow up to the 2018 version of Halloween, which was a direct sequel to Halloween 1978, which ignores all the other Halloween movies that exist and it's a big confusing mess. Don't expect Jason and Lisa to clear it up, they have different opinions on this movie. 

Jason and Lisa celebrate #spookyseason by watching "Insidious", directed by James Wan, who has a thing for giant houses apparently. We also talk about the awesome Lin Shaye, why two supporting characters need a spin-off TV show, and how it's about time someone realized "Tip Toe Through The Tulips" is a creepy ass song.

It's our first sequel! Jason and Lisa take on Paranormal Activity 2, which serves as mostly a prequel to the first film with a small taste of a follow up. There's babies, leg bites, Latin being scratched into doors, possessed pool cleaners, teenagers in hot tubs, hot testicles, and possession! It's a lot! 

Jason and Lisa can't handle the tooth while watching this filling of a family movie. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson works his canines off as a hockey player who's a royal pain in the root canal and is forced to be a tooth fairy for two weeks. It's your standard family film but just over the bridge is hope! Incisors!

Just when we started to see the light at the end of the tunnel, Jason Blum pulls us back and say "oh no! There's ONE MORE romantic comedy to get through before we get to all horror, all the time!" And that is 2009's "The Accidental Husband". Jason and Lisa discuss this, among other things, including their guilty pleasure rom-com, if fire departments can just pick and choose where they go to put out fires, and how much of a bad ass Colin Firth really is. I promise folks, we'll get to the horror stuff soon enough!

It took 5 episodes but we finally got to the style of movie that makes Blumhouse Productions a Blumhouse Production. As much as Jason is happy to FINALLY discuss a horror movie, Lisa is three times as excited to discuss one of her favorite movies "Paranormal Activity", the 2007 (released in 2009) found footage movie that kicked off a whole franchise. There's also some "Blair Witch Project" talk in here because of course.

Before Jason and Lisa can get to the horror holy land, they must get through one more bland Blumhouse Productions film. That is "Graduation", which is basically if "Oceans 11" was on the WB Network in the mid-2000's.

Jason and Lisa are back to talk about another early Jason Blum film, this time a wacky comedy about people who kill themselves in weird ways. But that's not the important part, the important part is all the RANDOM ASS CELELBRITIES THAT SHOW UP IN THIS CLEARLY LOW BUDGET FILM!! It's going to blow your mind who's all in this film. Just give it a listen.

In this mini-sode, Jason and Lisa take a look at a weird film in Jason Blum's filmography, "The Fever", which is about "Woman" played by Vanessa Redgrave having a social and mental breakdown because poor people exist in the world. That's seriously the plot of the movie. In a podcast that was suppose to be about dumb horror movies, things get rather heavy handed and Lisa provides the smarts by breaking down what she thinks the movie is trying to say. It's a strange one, guys!

In this brand new mini-sode podcast, Jason Soto and Lisa Leaheey team up to take on every movie Jason Blum and his Blumhouse Productions studio has released, in chronological order. And because it's chronological order, we have to start with Blum's early stuff, which did NOT consist of horror but sappy romantic films. First up is "Griffin & Phoenix" a drama about two people who are going to die soon so they commit petty crimes and not much else happens.
