Declan Hovenden is the current Head of Optometry and formerly Manager of the National Optometry Centre at Kevin Street.  AOI members may be aware that in late 2019 with the publication of a new bye-law by CORU- optometrists will no longer have to complete a Professional Qualifying Examination to register to practice. Declan talks to RADHARC_Journal on the podcast about his history as an optometrist and the changes in the School of Optometry at TU Dublin (formerly DIT Kevin Street), the development of the syllabus, the preparation of students for modern practice; the impact of Covid-19 on the students and the course; looks forward to the move to Grangegorman; and discusses the future of the course.

Massimo was elected President Elect of ECOO 2 years ago and succeded Dr Cindy Tromans (UK) as President at the 2020 Spring General Assembly, held as a virtual / online meeting.

Optician, and co-owner of L’Otticheria di Saffo srl v. De’ Vanni 17R, 50142 Firenze (Italy) Massimo Revelli has worked as an optician since 2002. He is the co-owner of L’Otticheria di Saffo srl. and obtained his Optician Diploma in 2009 at the Istituto di Ricerca e di studi in Ottica e Optometria (I.R.S.O.O.) in Vinci, Italy. In ECOO, he represents Federottica.

Prior to his career in optics, Massimo was a Marketing and Sales Director in several industries and worked at Nuovo Pignone, Sint Com srl, Gherardini Group srl, Alcatel Italia.
