The Power Returns Once More! ⚡️

⚡️Today I am very excited to have my friend and fellow podcaster David from the hit retro themed show "Slash Vision" as my special guest and cohost! We come together to ...celebrate (?) another Power Rangers film...1997's "Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie!"  but does this movie hold up?

⚡️We also chat about our crossover with the five-part "Green With Evil" miniseries on David's podcast and much more!

⚡️"The TV heroes return for a sequel, chasing a vicious villainess named Divatox. Can they rescue the kindly wizard Lerigot from her clutches before he's thrown into the volcano?  Is the second installment in Power Rangers film series after Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie and was produced by Saban Entertainment and Toei Company, Ltd., and was distributed by 20th Century Fox. The film stars Johnny Yong Bosch, Nakia Burrise, Steve Cardenas, Jason David Frank, Austin St. John, Catherine Sutherland, Jason Narvy, Paul Schrier, Hilary Shepard Turner, Amy Jo Johnson, and Blake Foster."

Episode 63: "House Of Wax" (2005)

Radical Ones! Today you are getting a free ticket into the "House of Wax" as our friend Cadu is back to talk about one of his favorite movies, the 2005 (lose) remake of a Vincent Price classic. (That just turned 17 today, May 6th!)

"A group of college students with car trouble find themselves stranded in a seemingly abandoned town. House of Wax is a 2005 slasher film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and written by Chad Hayes and Carey Hayes. The film stars Elisha Cuthbert, Chad Michael Murray, Brian Van Holt in a dual role, Paris Hilton, Jared Padalecki, Jon Abrahams, and Robert Richard. It is a loose remake of the 1953 film of the same name, itself a remake of the 1933 film Mystery of the Wax Museum, based on the story "The Wax Works" by Charles S. Belden."

Episode 58: "The Sting" (1973)

Ryan & Rob watch this Award-winning movie for the first time "The Sting" which is a 1973 American caper film set in September 1936, involving a complicated plot by two professional grifters to con a mob boss. Before we dive into the review, Rob surprises Ryan with a vengeful game of "Radical This Radical That?!"

"Following the murder of a mutual friend, aspiring con man Johnny Hooker (Robert Redford) teams up with old pro Henry Gondorff (Paul Newman) to take revenge on the ruthless crime boss responsible, Doyle Lonnegan (Robert Shaw). Hooker and Gondorff set about implementing an elaborate scheme, one so crafty that Lonnegan won't even know he's been swindled. As their big con unfolds, however, things don't go according to plan, requiring some last-minute improvisation by the undaunted duo."

Episode: 55 "Sugar Hill" aka "The Zombies Of Sugar Hill" (1974)

Episode: 55 "Sugar Hill" aka "The Zombies Of Sugar Hill" (1974)

This is hands down a favorite of Ryan and David: It's "Sugar Hill" a 1974 horror blaxploitation zombie film, directed by Paul Maslansky and starring Marki Bey as the title character who uses voodoo to get revenge on the people responsible for her boyfriend's death. It also stars the amazing Zara Cully (aka Mother Jefferson) as "Mama" Maitresse."

"When her boyfriend is murdered by gangsters, Sugar Hill decides not to get mad, but BAD! She entreats voodoo queen Mama Maitresse to call on Baron Samedi, Lord of the Dead, for help with a gruesome revenge. In exchange for Sugar's soul, the Dark Master raises up a zombie army to do her bidding. The bad guys who think they got away clean are about to find out that they're DEAD wrong."

(Today's movie from 1974 uses language and stereotypes that are considered outdated and harmful. Including Infrequent use of the "N" word. Viewer Discretion is Advised if film is watched after this review.)
