For me, 2024 is going to be about pushing myself to new heights and elevating my personal brand to the next level.

In addition to my personal goals, I also have some predictions for the world of marketing and social media platforms in 2024.

As I reflect on my six years in the communications industry, I realize that this journey has been filled with numerous learning experiences.

From navigating client relationships to building a successful career, here are six essential lessons that I have learned along the way.

The holiday season is often portrayed as a time of joy, celebration, and togetherness. However, for many individuals, it can also evoke feelings of sadness, loneliness, and stress.

For me, the experience of the holidays varies depending on a few factors, but I have always made a conscious effort to find joy in everything. In this article, I will share some tips on how to nurture your mental health and find peace during the holiday season, regardless of the emotions it may bring.

Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, and there are times when it can seem overwhelming and out of control. However, in the midst of chaos, it is possible to find a sense of peace and stability by staying centered.

🌟 Mental Illness Awareness Week is here, and it's more important than ever to come together and support one another. 🌟 

Throughout this week, we have an opportunity to remove the stigma surrounding mental health, raise awareness, and promote understanding and compassion for those struggling with mental illness. But it also calls for introspection: what does this week mean to you?

Why do we hesitate to talk about the tricky stuff? The not-so-fluffy, the not so... easy. Well, I guess because it really isn't easy. There's more to this life thing than just waking up, working, and repeating. What about the in-betweens? The days when life gets HARD and messy. Maybe even the days when as women, we have break-downs, instead of break-throughs. The days when we don't feel strong enough or ready enough. Well, I thought we'd discuss these moments together. This year is all about going where the money resides. I do not know whether to be upset about the fact that unpaid internships are still, "a thing" or to just be appalled at the fact that there is still conversation surrounding being a part of an unpaid internship setting. The last time I checked, inflation was at an all-time high and the cost of goods and services keep rising. 

In this case, whether you are a recent college grad, a full-time student, or maybe in your senior year of high school, it is important to know, that YOU have value and you should apply to internships that compensate for your willingness to learn and contribute to their organization with some kind of stipend. We got right down into it with this episode and held nothing back. What can I say, we had a lot to share. As women in business, we can speak and attest to many scenarios the shaped and shifted our careers in ways that I'd say, molded us to be better working professionals at the end of the day. Life is so short. Sometimes, we end up losing someone we love, much sooner than we expected. I lost a very special cousin of mine in a motor vehicle accident. His life, though short, had left an indelible and positive mark on my life.

Sometimes, God teaches us through the loss. May Jaden's soul rest in peace. I will continue to make you proud and fulfill my purpose on this Earth. Thank you for your loving, lasting impression.

Marketing roles have been blended a lot in this field. I think it's time we actually sit and differentiate what each role means and how each should be treated. In this episode, I talk about the disconnect between what is expected of those persons in this field versus, what their skillsets actually are. It's not all the time that we are able to fit roles, blend or assimilate to roles that do not match our expertise. I get into a little of what I've experienced in my world of marketing as an individual and I talk about how I've had to set realistic expectation for myself as well!

Understanding your worth is crucial. One word of advice I have for us this year and I mean, anyone listening to this podcast is to treat yourself kindly and understand the value you hold.

Most of 2021, I paid the price of fitting a narrative, that didn't serve me. I wont say I was a different person, but I was definitely not comfortable with how life was turning out.

I'm happy I unravelled from things and thoughts that no longer served me, and found peace in the process.

Intentional practices can change every day life.

I'd hope this episode inspires someone to stop for a second and reflect. Reflect on how far you've come and how far you see yourself going. I really have had to do a lot of introspection this year and I thank God for being able to guide me through this process. In this episode I share a little bit about the importance of removing the distractions to focus on your calling!

You'd be surprised that this can put you light years ahead.
