Dr David Wepener qualified in Homeopathy, Naturopathy and Osteopathy 40 years ago, and is registered with the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa. He has been in private clinical practice, with a 6 year period in executive health management and 6 years as a Hospice trained facilitator, trainer and caregiver, supporting bereaved families and terminally ill patients.

Additionally Dr Dave studied traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, has assisted with Acupuncture anesthesia for childbirth as well as fertility support, and offers maternal and postnatal homeopathic care for moms and babies and their follow up throughout their lives.

He has taken a deep dive into addictionology, trauma and PTSD as he sees more of this suffering daily, and his study of PsychoNeuroImmunology (PNI), NeuroLinguistProgramming (NLP) and modern Neuroscience as well as his certification as a Mindfulness teacher, has enabled him to practice a fully wholistic form of medicine, embracing the totality of a human being.

When I asked him why he does this work, he answered: My passion and privilege is participating in a persons journey to wholeness and integration, while taking care of body, mind and soul.

When I read this response it actually brought a tear to my eye because, as you’ll hear in the episode, Dr Dave has played a very large role in my healing journey, physical, mental and spiritual, since I first stepped into his office 10 years ago after being referred by my midwife, to receive acupuncture during my pregnancy. I am VERY grateful that I was led to him and I have a very deep respect for the work that he does and the approach that he uses to treat his patients integratively, and as individuals, with a depth of compassion that can only come from having done the emotional and spiritual work one oneself. And that’s why I trust him - I know that he walks his talk and always feel that he is treating me not only with care and respect but as an equal. I truly wish that more people could experience this type of healthcare, or even just know that it is possible.
