The LORD has done great things for us and we are filled with joy! When you have so much joy you have to sing, then do it! :D (After years of being convinced that I "couldn't sing," I finally understood that, if I can speak, of COURSE I can sing! The LORD, our sweet Daddy God, LOVES us to release our child-like faith and just BE FREE to praise and worship HIm! And, with the US being a free country and us having so many excellent tools at our disposal (THANK YOU, ANCHOR FM!), then let's GO! (Some may tell you that you should "never record" but they may be too afraid to be bold like you! :D As long as God is glorified, HE is pleased and He can use our feeble efforts to help people know Him better--which is why we're on the planet!!!)
Here are just a few Scriptures exhorting us to sing, in www.Biblegateway.com:
Psalm 9:2 I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High
Psalm 9:11 Sing praises to the Lord, who sits enthroned in Zion! Tell among the peoples his deeds
Psalm 13:6 I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me.
Psalm 18:49 For this I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations, and sing to your name.
Psalm 21:13 Be exalted, O Lord, in your strength! We will sing and praise your power.
Revelation 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations!
What does "being right with God" mean? Simply this: Having faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God to forgive us and cleanse us of all wrongs, and live within us to empower us to be Believers that show His Love to the world. That's it--not by doing enough good things, nor by NOT doing things against Him. Sound too good to be true? It's called GRACE! Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV) : For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Being happy is actually a choice, and developing relationship with our loving God Who sent His Son Jesus to die and rise again (John 3:16) so that we may live amazing, abundant lives (John 10:10), is the key to true satisfaction and success in life. Choose HIm!
The gift of speech God has given us is the most powerful took we have--other than our faith in Him and what He can do! This is a short reminder of the importance of being aware of the power of our words, for good or bad. Updated from LEGACY: Crafting Your Child's Future With Words.
Usually, when we focus on ourselves or circumstances, we are not happy. We may even be down or worse, depressed. But focusing on God--Who is all good and loves you so very much, and Who is the answer to every problem--will give you hope, strength, and joy!
This introduction to Tonja's book, LEGACY: Crafting Your Child's Future With Words, will help you understand the privilege and power of speaking the Word of God over your children to shape their lives for Christ!
