When I first became aware of my social media connection with my guest, Ritu Bhathal, we had a little exchange about being over forty and still being more than capable of chasing, and conquering, our goals. Out of that conversation stemmed the idea for a Podcast episode about this. Let's face it, ladies, we live in a world where the ideas fed to us about the age of 40 are not gentle or kind...
What I didn't expect was the details between Ritu beginning to chase her dream to write, and the tragedy, heartbreak, struggle and life that would happen within the years leading to where she is today. Her perspective on age also comes from a place different than my standard, Americanized one, because not only is she from another country, but she lives within an ethnic culture that adds its own complications and pressures.
I am so grateful I get to share my new friend Ritu with you! She is an author, poet, teacher, wife, mother and absolutely amazing!
Beyond this podcast, you can find Ritu around the world wide web by visiting her blog, website, Instagram, and of course, twitter.
