In the season three finale of the Rainy Day Collective Podcast, Misty sits down with Collective Team member Veronica. Veronica is the founder of the women's empowerment endeavor A.I.M: Amazing Incredible Me, and comes from a background in the Fashion Industry. It is in the telling of her story when Veronica shares that on her birthday (September 11th, 2001) she was going to school in NYC. Hearing the story from her perspective is sobering and, oddly, inspiring.  This leads to a conversation regarding the racial discrimination and the crippling fear that many Americans are dealing with right now. In a team meeting, before the start of the current midseason premiere, Maggie opened up and told a beautiful story about her grandmother. During this current climate in our culture, Emily's story is one (among so many) that we need to hear. Emily bravely shares her story of abortion, and while we respect that this is a sensitive topic (on both sides), these stories are ones we NEED to intentionally listen to. Here we are, in episode 42, and it is JUST IN TIME for summer!  Marion and Misty sit down to chat with @Melanomawarriorwoman about her cancer journey... We chat all sorts of things, from therapy animals, real self care, truth about sunscreens, Braf mutation, Showtime's The Big C, the Alkaline Diet, and so much more! When I first became aware of my social media connection with my guest, Ritu Bhathal, we had a little exchange about being over forty and still being more than capable of chasing, and conquering, our goals. Out of that conversation stemmed the idea for a Podcast episode about this. Let's face it, ladies, we live in a world where the ideas fed to us about the age of 40 are not gentle or kind...  What I didn't expect was the details between Ritu beginning to chase her dream to write, and the tragedy, heartbreak, struggle and life that would happen within the years leading to where she is today.
