The One Who Gives our Daily Bread (John 6:32-35 Devotional)

The One Who Gives our Daily Bread (John 6:32-35 Devotional)

“I am the bread of life” was the response Jesus gave to the people when they asked, “give us this bread always.”  People might think he thought it was wise to ask for that God-given bread always, but Jesus certainly looked above and beyond their material and physical needs.

How often do we p  y desperately and ask for things that we think we need, but it does not turn out to be the way we asked for? Is it because God doesn’t listen to our prayers? Is it because He doesn’t love us? No! Our Father loves us so much that He is unwilling to give us the least. He knows what is best for us, and He would only give us the best.

Where can i go from Your presence? (Psalm 139 and Jonah Devotional)

Where can i go from Your presence? (Psalm 139 and Jonah Devotional)

I was touched by God’s patience, presence, and His persistence through my journey with Jonah, and Psalm 139 concluded it very well! “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? We’ve all experienced disobedience in our life at some point, and God’s presence is still the same to us!  He would meet us right where we are and would have His way to teach us and guide us, and show us His mercy and love. We may not think we can glorify God because we, like Jonah, also had our failures and weaknesses. Yet God’s glory and power are made perfect in our failure and weaknesses.  God never gives up on us!  Read Psalm 139 and be inspired by God's love and presence.

A Father’s heart (Jonah 4 Devotional)

A Father’s heart (Jonah 4 Devotional)

This was a mother and son's project. :)

The great city of Nineveh repented and Jonah accomplished the mission from God successfully.   The story of Jonah should have ended in chapter 3 so we may call it a happy ending.  But here we are in chapter 4.  Jonah was extremely angry over God’s forgiveness of Nineveh’s repentance. As a mom, I wouldn’t want my child to only do what I tell him to do but to also understand why I’m giving the task.  And so does our Heavenly Father.  He was not done with his servant, Jonah until He could get him fixed from the inside out.

God Forgives (Jonah 3 devotional)

God Forgives (Jonah 3 devotional)

God recommissioned Jonah to go to Nineveh and finish what He was called to do.  God had given a second chance to Jonah, a believer, who failed to obey His command the first time.  God also gave a second chance to the city of Nineveh, a sinful gentile nation. The city was heading to destruction because of their sins and wickedness. Yet when true repentance happens, the Lord forgives!  Everyone can use a second chance, believers, and non-believers.

My hiding place (Jonah 2 Devotional)

My hiding place (Jonah 2 Devotional)

Just as Jonah was lockdown inside a fish's belly, God also allowed a lockdown in our life in the year 2020. Things might have turned upside down, and very little are in our control.  But however the Lord was with Jonah inside the fish belly, He is also with us.  He’s sheltering us under His wings. He is our hiding place.

Salvation is here (Jonah 1:7-16 Devotional)

Salvation is here (Jonah 1:7-16 Devotional)

While Jonah was in his worst spiritual state, God could still be glorified by him telling the truth of God. It obviously wasn’t in Jonah’s plan to bring salvation to the sailors, yet God graciously had a higher agenda...

Look up and see Jesus only (Matthew 17:1-8 Devotional)

Look up and see Jesus only (Matthew 17:1-8 Devotional)

When the disciples felt Jesus' touch and heard His call, they lifted up their eyes on Jesus.

They were able to refocus on Him again.

They were able to arise and go down from the mountain with Him, and continue to journey on with the Lord.

Jesus was all they needed all along.

How Far has Love Come to Bring Me Home? (John 4: 1-6 Devotional)

How Far has Love Come to Bring Me Home? (John 4: 1-6 Devotional)

The Lord never fails to have his unique and personal way to reach out to His people! From seeing the true Israelite Nathanael who was sitting under the fig tree to calling the fishermen by the shore; from touching the eyes of the blind to touching the hand of the man with leprosy.  And now walked in a day’s journey to Samaria, wearied and thirsty, just to meet a Samaritan woman, a social outcast, to bring her hope to a  life that will never run dry and thirsty.
