The Ranch Collective

Episode 026: Whetstone Commodities
This weeks guest, Becky, does something that I didn’t actually know existed. She trades on the market for farmers and ranchers. She made what that actually means a very easy and approachable subject- so hopefully if you also don’t know anything about her job, you learn as much as I did. You can find Becky and Whetstone Commodities at

Episode 022: Wandering Creations Boutique with Chelsea Williams
Hey friends! Happy happy wednesday! Today's guest, Chelsea, is the sweetest! I met her through the Punchy Posse, which is a group I'm in on Facebook, run by my previous guest Sophia, where she connects western & rural female business owners so that we can complain about the bad parts and celebrate each others' wins- and it's an amazing time in there. Chelsea owns and operates the Wandering Creations boutique- where she handmakes leather and metal goods. She is a veteran, she is a mom, she is a bad ass- here she is!  You can find Chelsea at @wanderingcreationsboutique on IG & FB as well as at

Episode 020: The Western Shop Specialist
Good morning everyone! So I think today's episode is the episode I've been the most excited for since recording it. Sophia Sulzner aka the western shop specialist aka the punchy posse founder chats with me, and since recording this episode, she's be come one of my good friends. We recorded back around Chrismas, which was a few weeks ago, and I joined her facebook group, The Punchy Posse, and have been able to watch it grow from the ground up. She's really helped me find my people... and this conversation is where it all began! Just a heads up- there is some weird voice static thing the first few minutes on her end, but it goes away pretty quickly. Hopefully that doesn't take away from your enjoyment of this episode, because it's so fun and we had a BLAST talking & creating together. You can find Sophia on her website (,  Instagram (@sophiasulzner),  on Facebook (@thewesternshopspecialist), & on Youtube. If you are a western or rural female business owner, you can find the Punchy Posse on Facebook!

I am so excited to be releasing new episodes again after a short break for the holidays. Jordan from Whinney Wear is my first guest of 2021! She creates and curates one of a kind and small batch tack items and shares them with her customers- and hopefully some of you!  Jordan is hilarious- I'm not sure if any of you saw my sneak peak clip on Instagram- if you didn't, she is talking about her midwestern accent! She also has some incredible words of advice for those who want to start a creative western business- and she knows her stuff- she has been in business for about 10 years with Whinney Wear and made the jump to full time during the pandemic this year. You can find WhinneyWear on social media on IG, FB (both @WhinneyWear), on Pinterest (@whinneywearllc) or on the web at

The fire is REAL in this episode because Loagan is going to take over the world, one kind word at a time. You can find her on IG at @theranchingbrunette OR @getamericaranchingagain. Episode 017: Oklahoma Women's Journal (Re-release)
Hey you guys! I am back to feeling MUCH better- thank you for understanding last week about not getting an episode. I spent my weekend feeling absolutely awful and icky, and just was NOT up for editing... and THEN I lost my voice for like 3 days... and If you know my in real life, that's a problem because I love to talk.  SO I appreciate all of the patience and grace you've had with me over the last 10 days as I recovered. This week is Christmas- it's in just a couple days, and Josiah is actually coming home from work he will be here for about a week, and so that we can enjoy our time together, I decided to re-release some of my earlier episodes to get some extra love today and next week! This week, I'm sharing my very first episode- my interview with the Oklahoma Women's Journal!  I stumbled onto the OWJ website over the summer. For those who don't know,  I grew up in the publishing industry, and it's not as prominent as it used to be, but my friends over at @okwomensjournal are making sure that in OKC, print isn't dead. AND they're making it accessible for those of us (like me) that are ready to kill for some good media- online. They are sharing killer content all over the internet, and their first issue is completed! It will be available next month- so head on over to their social media to check out their stuff.  You can find the Oklahoma Women's journal on social media at @okwomen'sjournal on IG, and on their website at

I hope all of you get to learn as much as I did, and check out Brandi on her own platforms:  website: | IG: @brandibuzzard | FB: @buzzardsbeat| Twitter: @brandibuzzard

Episode 015: Farmstead Meats
It's wednesday, and that means another epi, friends! I met this week's guest, Megan, on a FB post from a friend who wanted to support local for  the holidays... which is a VERY fitting way to meet someone for this episode.  Her company, Farmstead Meats (& the Farmstead Connection) focus on bringing together a community of producers to sell all together, rather than traditional selling. She and her business partners are intensely community focused- creating a non traditional business model that is just... mind blowing honestly.  We also chat about the wild fires that damaged California, especially this summer, and about sustainability for producers. You guys this might be my most favorite episode so far- Megan's passion for educating me, and all of you is intoxicating, and I'll be honest... prior to cutting some of the less relevant snips- like how teaching during COVID is going, and talking in depth about some of the vendors in her store- the episode was almost 100 minutes- and we only stopped recording because it was after 9PM here. This episode was such a joy to record and to release- so I sincerely hope you all learn as much as I did with Megan! You can find Farmstead Meats online at, on FB at @The-Farmstead-Connection, and on IG at @farmstead2020!

Today's guest is a super cool guy- his name is Leighton, he's from Riverside, and he's a bullrider. Leighton and I met during the Reno Rodeo 3 or 4 years ago when he modeled for a shoot that I was photographing. I was so excited to learn that he's deeply invested in the education and safety of young bullriders, and I had so much fun chatting with him about how he got started, where he's going, his faith, and his branding in realty. Episode 011- Local Lands Co
One of the hands down coolest parts of hosting a podcast is asking your friends to come and talk about their business with you- and that's what I got to do this week.  My friend, Angelica, came on to chat about her apparel business, Local Lands Co.  Local Lands Co celebrates local pride- wherever you may be from. What that means is to be proud of your town, and to show tourists and visitors the way to celebrate in your space- whether that's sharing the kid-friendly hiking trails, giving directions, or supporting local businesses. She (and I) are from little mountain towns in the heart of the Sierra Nevada mountains in North Eastern California, and grew up hiking, swimming, and taking in some of the most beautiful views the state has to offer, and she thinks that should be celebrated. We chat about how the business started, about her family life, and where she sees Local Lands Co going.  You can find her IG at @locallandsco, and keep an eye out for her other social media, coming soon.

Episode 010: Humans Outside
Amy has a very interesting journey about spending time outside- and makes the time for it at least 20 minutes a day. We got to chat about her journey with Humans Outside as well as a little bit about her husband's journey to Remedy Alpine, an organization that connects veterans with each other and with nature. The audio in this chat is a little wonky- I think when Anchor was processing it, it overlaid my voice with hers a little. You can still understand Amy 100%- but my questions are delayed, and it sounds like we are talking over each other a little- but I think that what she's sharing is important, relatable, and funny- so hopefully you all can hear past it like I can because she's incredible! You can find Amy on her website at, on her podcast at Humans Outside Podcast, on FB at @humansoutside, &  on Youtube and Instagram under the same names. You can find her husband's organization, Remedy Alpine,  and all related social media online from their website: Enjoy!

Sondra Cosgrove is the president of the League of Women Voters in Nevada. She even broke it down for me question by question and explained what each question meant. She also explained the process of mail in voting in Nevada- and what to do if you're voting in person! All of that information was incredible, easy to digest, and educational- BUT I think the best part of the conversation was talking about how it's been SO much easier to access people to educate and chat with thanks to technology. You can find Sondra, and the LWV Nevada on their website, on instagram, and on facebook. No matter your state OR  your political views, please remember to vote in November!
