Episode 111: Pride in Ag with Alexis Johnson
Episode 110: Weathering the Storm with Moriah Hunter
Episode 109: Getting Gritty with Moriah Hunter
Bonus Episode: What Do You Wish People Outside of Ag Knew with the Ag Discussion Room
Hey you guys! I am feeling under the weather this week, but I still wanted to make sure you got an episode, so I am re-releasing one of my favorite episodes with my friends from the Ag Discussion Room on Clubhouse from last year- Have a great Wednesday!
Today is a different episode because I am doing less chatting and more listening. I talk a ton on this show about the ag discussion room in clubhouse, and the lovely folks over there were kind enough to let me record an episode with them, so this is NOT the usual style episode. There is also a bit of background noise- that's because this room is for producers and listeners to come together, and if you know anything about farming and ranching- you'll know that multi-tasking is often the way to get things done, so a lot of these folks are multitasking in the background.
The speakers are (roughly in order),
Kennedy Youngren
Shannon Townsend
Bryan Moes
Kyle Vanderwal
Mark Rathbone
Andrew Leite
Kiel Taylor
Lane Schutt
Jeremy Dunphy
Lance Peterson
Adam Rick
Josh Sybesma
Jerrick Lockwood
Ethan Hill
Jasmine Bass
Riley Faust
Roby Cogburn

Today, I am chatting with Sarah Loudermilk- a farm and equestrian photographer based out of North Carolina, and you guys... we had the best time talking about photography and growing up slow, before technology hit and seeped into everything. Sarah is kind, funny, and so knowledgeable and it made speaking with her so easy.
As always, thank you so much for listening!
Episode 104: Lessons in Agriculture with Bridgette Readel
I’m your host Harlee and if you’re new here welcome if you’ve been with us for a while welcome back

Maybe you’re like me and you straddle the line between being involved in agriculture in someway shape or form, or you just like to know more about your food, where it comes from or about a western industry like rodeo, hunting, or ranch management.
Today I am chatting with the lovely Bridgette Readel about one of my fever topics to talk to guests about: misconceptions that they hear over and over as professionals, and then we get to share their experience, as someone who actually is boots on the ground, professional in that industry.
Episode 103: Helping People Understand What's Going on in Agriculture with Bridgette Readel
this is the Ranch Collective Podcast, where we talk with western industry professionals to share, eduate, and give a platform to those inside the industry, and to give those who are outside of it a look at the day to day by having real conversations with guests.
Today is my first episode of season 7... and it's a day late because of our texas winter weather... in true RCP form. If you are new here, welcome, and if you have been on this journey with me for a while, welcome back!
I'm thrilled with welcome Bridgette to the show- and she is a spectacular, well-spoken first guest, so without any more chity chatting, here's the episode!
Tales from a Ranch Manager Minisode #6 with Eddie Polich
And.. I’m not usually one to pick favorites, but this might be my favorite episode that I’ve released because I got to hear stories about Josiah when he was a kid.
Eddie is actually the first person i thought of when i decided i wanted to do tales from a ranch manager because he is such a story teller and has a whole lifetime of stories to share.
So i hope you enjoy todays episode
Tales from a Ranch Manager Minisode #5 with Eddie Polich
And it’s not often that I give discretion warnings- but his stories today center around a politically divisive and, what is for many, a personally upsetting, topic: his experiences as a ranch manager close to the US / Mexico border, and what people crossing the border illegally did to the ranch he managed and others in that area.
One of the things I strive to do with this show is bring you, listeners, guests who have lived different lives than you- and my hope is that you’ll listen with open ears and an open heart to the experiences of men and women who have firsthand knowledge on the topic they’re talking about- and tales is no different.
Thank you for listening, listener discretion is advised.
Tales from a Ranch Manager Minisode #4 with Kenneth Kyle
Good morning everyone, I'm your host Harlee, and this is the Ranch Collective Podcast, where we talk with western industry professionals to share, educate, and give a platform to those inside the industry, and to give those who are outside of it a look at the day to day by having real conversations with guests.
What is Tales from a Ranch Manager? It's the stories shared by ranch managers, hands, cowboys, and anyone else who works on farms or ranches, but doesn't have an ownership stake in the operation. I have lots of these special people in my life, and thought it was time to devote some minisodes to sharing their stories with you.
Today my guest is Kenneth Kyle, who is a good friend of mine, and we are chatting about his experiences managing ranches. Kenneth will come back soon for a full episode to talk more in depth about some of the experiences he had- but today, Kenneth is sharing stories about the value of his kids growing up on ranches, about a fire that took place close to the ranch he worked on in new mexico, and working for a prison dairy.
I forgot to all her social media to the audio but all of Kennneth's leatherwork can be found via his wife's social media- she is @lyd_kyle

Today I am back with my most favorite human being, Josiah. If you missed the last episode, Josiah has lived on ranches for most of his life, between growing up on ranches across the country, and then handing, assistant managing, and managing several as an adult. Today, he is sharing some of his experiences in the mismatch of expectations between management and ownership- and specifically, what they looked like for him.

This week's guest is a special one- my very own partner- Josiah! He is sharing the day to day in a ranch manager's life, and a couple of special stories from his time in ranching: one about a special axis named SuzyQ, one about hog hunting with his dad that you hear part of in the opening clip, and one about helping his dad fix (or not fix) one of the ranch vehicles.

Episode 94: An Important Part of Animal Stewardship with Sam Ellis
Good morning everyone and welcome to the ranch collective podcast!
On this show, we talk about all things agriculture and western lifestyle and have real conversations with people who are involved- from the farmer to the barrel racer to the vet tech.
I missed you guys last week- and I’m so happy to be back. I don’t know if anyone actually liked the life updates you used to get at the top of the show, but you’re gonna get some today! I came home the Friday after the last episode I released, and pretty much slept except to eat and shower until Tuesday morning. That was a week ago yesterday, and you can still hear the congestion in my voice- SO I’m on the mend but definitely not 100% yet.
Next thing is that from now until the end of June, the pod schedule will be a little up in the air because we are making a trip to Reno for a wedding next week, and then my family comes to visit us for the next couple of weeks immediately after that. I plan on sharing episodes during that time, but I may not because I’ll be prioritizing family time. You can find out from my social media if there will be an episode!
Thirdly- I still have podcast stickers. You can find them on Etsy if you want one. It’s been a while since I mentioned that- but they’re there. There’s a link in the show notes.
Lastly- and this is with a heavy heart- a moment of silence for Lynlee. I didn’t personally know her, but a lot of you did, and I do know what losing someone feels like, and my heart breaks for every single one of you who feels the loss of Lynlee in your soul. I won’t use her suicide as a launching point for a mental health discussion but
the national suicide hotline number is 988, and you can text or call that number in crisis- and I hope that you do.
Today I’m speaking with Sam from Due West and she artificially inseminates cows, and I know nothing about that process, so im thrilled to have her to chat with.
This week, we are discussing how AI works, and dispelling some misconceptions.
Just a warning, we do get into some graphic descriptions of the AI process, we talk about sexual assault, and I tell a story about my IUD insertion so this episode is explicit.
I hope you all enjoy, and I’m so happy you’re here.

Episode 79: Focusing on Farming Lifestyle with Tom Cunningham
Today's guest is the founder of Grazr, Tom Cunningham- and we are chatting about who he is, and how he wants to change the ag world with a social media app designed to give famers, ranchers, and consumers more control over buying, selling, and processing their meats.
One of the really cool things about this episode is that we get to chat about how different options work for different ranchers. Tom spends a bit of time walking me through the process on his small scale operation- and why they use the processes they do- and they're different from how other guests have outlined their operations to us.
Next week, we will get into the processes for Grazr- and you guys- you don't want to miss it.
Thanks for listening- enjoy the interview!

I am back today with Alli Kelley to continue our conversation from last week. If you haven't taken a listen to that episode yet, pause this one, go back to last week, and get to know Alli. Today's episode is largely about diversifying your income as a farmer or rancher, but it's also about becoming comfortable with who you are and taking care of your mental health. We discuss keeping the ag industry alive, not just through your kids, but looking outside your family to aspiring farmers and ranchers as well.

Episode 77: You are not going to be an overnight success with Alli Kelley
Todays guest is Alli Kelley, who is actually one of the very first people i met and felt connected to when i made my podcast social media. For the last almost 2 years, she has been someone who I can count on to be honest, vulnerable, and provide trustworthy information. She is also someone who laughs at my most perverted jokes, and never fails to make me laugh in return. I’m so excited to share this conversation with you all- we are chatting all about how Alli got to where she is now- and how it was a long time coming.
