Welcome to Episode 132, the return of the table! We start up talking about Outlast, we completed our final part of our let’s play and give our final thoughts on the game. Skazz then talks about Dauntless, the free to play Monster Hunter clone with cross-play, but with some quite bad flaws. He then moves onto the ‘Dark Souls of Run and Gun shooters’ in cup head, he personally doesn’t find it as tough as everyone says and has some issues with the game style. TheSuffolkRam has been playing Kona, a walking simulator set in 1970 rural Canada investigating strange going on’s and looking for a murderer. Moving onto TV, Ram has been watching Amazon Prime’s new series, Picard, 20 years on after the supernova that destroyed Romulus, Picard finds a new reason to go back into space. Welcome to Episode 130, our first podcast of 2020, and to celebrate the new decade, we’re doing a special episode for the occasion. TheSuffolkRam and Skazz have been picking their games of the decade 2010-2019. The rules being they must new games or series released between those years. They are allowed one cheat game that breaks those rules. For our first games, Skazz kick off with Destiny the multiplayer shooter from Bungee, the markers of Halo and Marathon, saving the universe from Aliens. meanwhile, TheSuffolkRam has been experiencing bleak Russian Sci-fi with his first choice, the Metro series. Moving onto our next choice Skazz has gone for a blast from the past with a game he discussed on our very first Podcast, Hyperdimension Neptunia. Ram follow suit by discussing Dishonored. Midway through our lists Skazz relive his Armored Core fantasy with the 2019 release Daemon ex machina. Ram similarly picks a game series that finished last year with Telltales The Walking Dead adventure game series. We then move onto our penultimate choices, Skazz picking the Souls series of games and talks about the difficulty, Ram picks out the philosophic game SOMA and discuss the idea of brain downloading. And finally, our last choice of game Skazz is split between Steins;gate, Senran Kagura, but finally settles on Asura’s Wrath. Ram finishes off with explaining his love of the Far Cry series. He then moves onto a more interesting game with Inside, an indie game with both and interesting style and story open to interpretation and some beautiful animation and lighting effects. Welcome to Episode 121, Our 6th birthday podcast As is tradition, we kick off discussing nothing in particular including mafia dons, being stuck outside Skazzs house and the dangers of combine harvesters, as well of buying computer chairs and recently open shops near TheSuffolkRam job. Skazz has not being playing many games due to being kicked off YouTube and surprisingly not for something he said, but he has been able to play Astral Chain bonding humans and daemons like creatures together with a weird control system. TheSuffolkRam is still playing We Happy Few having moved onto the next act, He briefly discuss how the game changes things up for the next section and how he has encountered some more bugs. He also been playing the classic Red Dead Redemption and talks about theme horse naming and his disappointment with auto aim. Ram has been watching new and slightly disappointing Sci-Fi series ‘Another Life’ featuring Battlestar Galactica actress Katee Sackhoff We also talk about classic shooter Timesplitters, the John Wick series of films and the upcoming Breaking Bad film. We did it! we made it to episode 100! Welcome to our North Korea special! After having our bit of cake, we begin with Skazz talking about another modern FPS with Wolfenstein the new colossus (SPOILERS AHEAD). Welcome to Episode 97 We kick off by once again discussing burying one of our colleagues and how TheSuffolkRam sleeps at night. We then finally get into the main podcast with games with been playing with – as Skazz calls it – ‘Splatoon with boobs’  in Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash. A group of Japanese girls fight in a tournament on the peach beach using water pistols. TheSuffolkRam has been playing two games, first up is Orwell: Ignorance is Strength the sequel to the Orwell. the game about surveillance and detective work. This games focuses more on the concept of fake news and creating a narrative. His second game follow on in the ‘strange walking simulator’ genre of game with The Norwood Suite, set in a strange hotel where you have to help people by retrieving items in order to get access to a DJ. We somehow end up talking about TheSuffolkRam future trip to Bletchley Park and how enigma was cracked. We finally finish off by discussing the latest voting on the EU directive with it overbearing copy-write laws. Which leads onto a discussion of what makes something successful. Welcome to Episode 88 Bard has still been playing CRPG with Shadowrun: Dragonfall and  Shadowrun: Hong Kong. A cyberpunk meet fantasy RPG based on the tabletop  game. Featuring blind ghoul samurai and dragon business leaders. He  talks about the differences between the games and his preferred game  play style. Skazz has finally finished Doom 2016, but the big question is; on  which platform? He talks about some of the bugs on the different  platforms. We also discuss the Nintendo Labo and his kid thoughts on it.  He also talks about the battle royal game Radical Heights, style after  an 80s game show which reward ‘smashing through the window’ gameplay and  we discuss the weirdness between fanbases. TheSuffolkRam has been revisiting Alien: Isolation. an Horror games  based on the first alien film, he talks about the learning AI of the  alien and the immersive gameplay. Plus the nerds have a brief discussion  of the plus and minis of the Alien films. Ram give a scathing review of the first part of Lost in Space,  discussing silly physics, illogical plots and poorly written plots. Ram continues with his rants, this time moving onto the ending of  Farcry 5 and the silliness of them. We discuss game endings and how very  few of them are any good. Welcome to Episode 87 We start off with TheSuffolkRam trying to not talk about Farcry 5 but hes end up doing so anyway. Bard then kick us off property with discussing two CRPG: Arcanum and Divinity original sin 2. First up is Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura.  A Victorian era steampunk, where you can play as a special person. We  talk about the beautiful music and how to do a steampunk in a world  properly. Skazz talks about Nier Automata,  previously discussed by Middlemeister, Skazz misses the fact he is  unfortunately not able to shout at him about the game. He gives a  different view on the game by discusses how the story didn’t effect him  and how and the characters throughout didn’t work for him. Bard then carries on with talking  about his other CRPG hes been playing Divinity Original Sin 2. He talks  about the strange cast of characters such as an undead skeleton called  Fane and a human with a deamon in her head. He talks about the depth and  complexity of the story and the way characters can interact with each  other. We then move onto Skazz talking about  Gal*Gun 2, the sequel to the very serious, hard hitting, in depth on  rails shooter about being shoot by cupid and getting charged at by  hundreds of girls. He talks about the change of mechanics in the sequel,  and how it feels like it should by a VR game. Bard revives and old section by  playing a recently released board game called rising sun , set in feudal  japan a game about political intrigue and back stabbing your friends.  We discuss other similar games like Battlestar Galataca. We also talk about the various  episodes we’ve missed and the various ways to listen to us. Welcome to Episode 84 A Short episode this week as both Skazz and TheSuffolkRam have had  computer issues that has prevent much game playing this week. This  continual into our actual podcast itself. We start by comparing various computer issue, Skazz has been having  fun with Linux, Firefox and Gnome shell. While Ram has been having  problems with Windows 10 decided it did not like USB ports. Welcome to Episode 83 Middlemeister returns for a guest appearance in his cardigan!  TheSuffolkRam kicks us off talking about Delta Force Land Warrior, a  game from the ancient year of 2000 that is not very good and makes us  feel old. but does help us have nostalgia over old game mechanics. We  also find out Ram’s early mission creation days. Middlemeister has been playing recently released switch version of  an indie game called Owlboy. A Metroidvania style game with great story,  art and music. Following the life of useless owlboy Otis and his fight  against pirates. Skazz has been technical issues with his PS4 preventing from him  playing the game he would like, he talks about his steps to fix his  PlayStation. But his problems lead him to using an old laptop and  installing SteamOS. We talk about the good and bad of the OS and some  ways around a few of its issues. Ram has also been playing through Abzu, a game mainly about swimming  that very pretty and ideal when you’re either drunk or tired. He talks  about swimming with whales and problematic controls. We then move onto a TV series with TheSuffolkRam shocking Skazz by  watching the subtitled anime Attack On Titan.  Set in a world where  humans are have been driving to living behind giant walls to avoid being  eaten by Titans. Middlemeister has been watching a better Star Trek show the Star  Trek: Discovery with The Orville. Seemingly a comedy it soon moves into  more Drama territory with later episodes. Welcome to episode 75 We kick off with our plans for next year for a 24 hour livestream hopefully for charity. Ram has also been watching season 2 of The Expanse, a hard sci-fi  series about a possible alien incursion into our galaxy and the politics  between the three main factions. Finally we talk about the fact that AI has now beating Captcha  potentially spelling the end for this annoying feature. And our hatred  of modern website designs and security. A re-imaging of the harvest moon series, with the player taking on the deed of a farm. Ram find himself getting tire by half seven the morning, and in the game as well. Skazz has been playing Spaltoon two, delivered on time with no issues (well one…). Hes been painting ground, firing new weapons and putting up with people complaining about voice chat. Welcome to episode 65 After a slightly wobbly start we start again more organised and back with using paper show notes. We kick off with TheSuffolkRam have been trying to prove he not a machine in The Turing Test by being lead through a series of test chambers with an AI talking to him. Welcome to episode 61 Sorry in advance for keyboard noise and fan hum, we had a laptop a bit close to the recording mic. In this episode, TheSuffolkRam has been paying a combination of two of his favorites series, Total War and Warhammer in the very originally tiled game Total War: Warhammer. A game witch combines turn based and real time strategy. He talks about the Warhammer backstory and world, explains why Skaven are the best army and why Bretonnians are not, the lack of halflings. He also discuss the pain of bad interfaces, his version of diplomacy and the joys of steam rolling across a map. Middlemeister has been playing the game he gushed about last month with Persona 5. He talks about the combination of school life and deamon dungeon fighting, eating burgers, looking after flowers and fighting PE teachers. Ram has broken out the ancient technology called a DVD boxed set and has been watching an old J.J. Abrams series called Alias. A early 2000s spy drama that holds up still pretty well and which rejigs itself multiple times, we also discover Ram lack of knowledge of film stars. Middlemeister and ram discuss series 10 of Doctor Who, we give our concerns of the new companion and talk about the most recent series up and downs. Skazz has been looking forward to Splatoon 2, hoping this time the lorry wont get stolen on its way to the UK. He also lets slip that his kids have found out that the Nintendo Switch Exists and is not looking forward to his future bank balance. We discuss the news that Microsoft will soon be allowing refunds for downloaded xBox games. Rand(Nerds); Episode 51
Welcome to the Rand(Nerds); Podcast episode 51 In this episode, after his visit to our studio last podcast, Kim has left us after drinking all the tea. TheSuffolkRam has been blocking roads for hours, trying to tip cars and suffering a patriotism overdose with Farming Simulator 17, which does not feature flying hay bales, but does have pigs who breed very quickly. Welcome to the Rand(Nerds); Podcast episode 49 This podcast we’re back livestreaming, but we’re sans Bard.
