Happy Happy Sunday to you! In today’s episode I discuss and share my feelings and thoughts around self care. Self care is something that is not going to be the exact same for everyone and there is always going to be fluctuations with how we go about it and what we need at different points in our lives. It’s ultimately about being able to tune in to ourselves and feeling into what we need most for our physical and mental wellbeing.
Happy Saturday to you! Today I delve into the hero’s journey and how our struggles and tough experiences help us to be able to better help and serve others. And of course how with all these experiences it also helps us to grow. Remember that we all go through difficulties in life be that death, heartbreak or financial hardships. If you can start to really let the Elizabeth Gilbert quote, ““Suffering without letting yourself grow from it is nothing but wasted pain...and at the end of the Hero's journey, you come back home and share what you learned...the hero's journey is not just for you, it's a public service.” sink in it will help you to better see that all the suffering and pain is worthwhile in the long run.
Happy Happy Friday to you guys! Today I start out by doing a quick recap of this week’s episodes before I dive into this Friday’s randomable questions segment.
Here are the questions 😂 let me know your first inclination.
WOULD YOU RATHER LIVE (PERMANENTLY) IN A ROLLER COASTER PARK OR IN A ZOO?
WOULD YOU RATHER LOOK LIKE A POTATO, OR FEEL LIKE A POTATO?
YOU’RE IN THE CIRCUS, WOULD YOU RATHER BE THE PERSON WITH THEIR HEAD INSIDE THE LION’S MOUTHS OR GET SHOT OUT OF THE CANNON?
WOULD YOU RATHER NEVER BE ABLE TO EXPRESS YOURSELF ACCURATELY OR ALWAYS HAVE TO SAY THE EXACT TRUTH?
WOULD YOU RATHER BE ABLE TO COPY AND PASTE IN REAL LIFE, OR UNDO IN REAL LIFE?
WOULD YOU RATHER KEEP YOUR CURRENT SLEEP SCHEDULE OR HIBERNATE FOR 3 MONTHS AND HAVE 9 MONTHS OF 24/7 ALERTNESS WITHOUT BEING TIRED?
WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE A PERMANENTLY CLOGGED NOSE OR A PIECE OF GREEN FOOD ALWAYS STUCK IN YOUR TEETH?
WOULD YOU RATHER BE ABLE TO BREATHE UNDERWATER OR HAVE THE AGILITY OF A CAT?
Happy Thursday to you! I hope you are having an amazing day today. In today’s episode I talk about gratitude. Gratitude is one of those things that we all hear and post about but it really does have a very powerful weight that should be taken seriously. There is no “right” or “wrong” with how you go about it falling into a gratitude state. It’s all about whatever works for you and know that the way you go about it can and will evolve. Finding gratitude even in the heat of a moment or in a bad rough place.
Happy Wednesday to you! In today’s episode I talk all about the power of a simple smile. The sheer action of allowing yourself to smile it does help to not only lift your vibration but it could also help someone else. Smiling can also help bring you back to the present moment. It’s all too often that we are going through your day to day without even thinking about smiling. The importance of interjecting joy and play even as adults. I also go into the wonderful world of Brownies and Girl Scouts.
Happy Tuesday! On today’s episode I speak about starting over and beginning fresh. Allowing yourself to be a beginner and seeing things with fresh eyes. There is so much bravery that comes with starting over. Allowing yourself to have compassion for yourself as you move forward. The importance of just deciding something as opposed to hem and haw. Trusting that first inclination that comes up.
Happy Monday to you! In today’s episode I speak about the constant rollercoaster of our individual lives. Always coming back and fully trusting yourself in your own path and various relationships. Embracing the moments where you might not be able to see the path in front of you or being in a dark tunnel. Being able to be okay with not knowing. Dealing with our personal mind chatter. The importance of giving not only others compassion but also giving it right back to ourselves.
Happy Sunday morning to you! Today I speak more about the constant evolution and growth that we all go through which does sometimes means you’ll lose people. Real friends will support you no matter what. Stagnant relationships and those friendships that merely are about the memories. Why people tend to want to hold on to every friend and / or acquaintances. I also speak about David the Gnome! Does anyone remember this one? It’s good to come at different moments when you unlearn what you’ve learned. I end the episode with a deep question that is important to think about.
Happy Saturday morning to you!! Today I speak about the goodness that come from struggles, hard times and how creative we tend to be. The “will I survive” moments deepen your trust in yourself. When other people betray you or you lose trust for others you have to come back and have that trust for yourself. If you are in the thick of emotions - journal or talk and record yourself- you’ll find so many nuggets from those moments and your thoughts. I also mention that you can never truly compare your hard times to someone else’s. We all have our way of vocalizing and / or remembering certain experiences. Finally, the classic Michael Jackson Thriller song and music video. Do you remember the video and even more important do you know the dance?
Happy Friday to you! I hop all over into the Friday randomesque questions. The rare gift of being an emotional empath. Empathy is the ability to comprehend or imagine what another might be feeling. Whereas, the Empath can literally feel what another person feeling (definition pulled from google) Showing our emotions and wearing ones heart on ones sleeves. Mastering the art of a poker face (cue Lady Gaga). My thoughts on procrastination. The lost art of snail 🐌 mail and how much I cherish handwritten notes and letters. My French pen pal that I had back in middle school.
Happy Thursday guys! I hope you are having a wonderful day. Connecting our own personal dots and noticing how we tend to show up. Check in to see when you feel the “flow.” Dealing with the concept of human worry and/or the old adage of putting ones foot in your mouth. Remember that we all are inspiring someone out there. The necessity of embracing being a beginner no matter where you are in your life. Throwback Thursday to my 2012 Blog Talk Radio show - Authentic Flava 😆 Losing Yourself in different relationships or forgetting who you are. People labeling or assuming things about you. - Song Mentioned- The Hard Way - Diana Gordon
Happy Wednesday to you! Today I speak on doing what feels best or “right” for you. Dealing with people that question, doubt or just make you think that you’ve changed or aren’t the same as you were. We all lose people along our lives. Being comfortable with being the “crazy” one or going against the grain. Doing things that feel so right to you but others question. There really is no one clear defined path or steps to get to whatever you want to reach or achieve. Happiness is an inside job and just remember that everything really does have to start from yourself. I discuss stereotypes, looking young for my age and not being what people expect. What’s “right” for someone else could be “wrong” for you and vice versa. I also go into my favorites from Schoolhouse Rock.
Happy Tuesday to you! Today I share a little bit pulled from a back and forth twitter convo I had with Bryan Taylor (@brytay82) regarding when people have multiple social accounts and then what happens when you neglect or drop off. There is growth and lessons to be learned by doing too much or overcommit. Without going all in how will you learn when it’s too much for you and also recognizing when it’s time to either ask for help or to recognize when the passion/spark just is no longer there. The phoenix rising from the ashes concept comes into discussion and all the deaths and rebirths and pivots I’ve gone through. I end the show talking about music talking about Lupe Fiascos latest album, my favorites from Lil Wayne’s Carter V and also Whole Heart by Teddy Marquee.
Happy Monday guys! In today’s episode I do a little recap from the weekend and the cleaning of Instagram. I share my personal thoughts around finding our voice, our purpose and of course the idea around niches. The only to find these things is by continuing to let ourselves experience and live. As humans we are going to continue to evolve and change. Not having everything figured out or being able to have everything tied up in a neat little bow.
Happy Sunday to you! In today’s episode I speak about cleaning my Instagram account of inactive, bots and even profiles that have no photo in their main photo. Holla back to the Twitter “porn and eggs.” I also share about my ongoing evolution with Insta since 2011. I share what my first photo was. The 3 groups that I removed included: 1- bot like (you can generally tell...) 2-Have no profile photo (there’d are actually ppl that don’t have that 😏) 3- are “dead” accounts as in they aren’t actively posting like last pic in 2016.
Happy Saturday to you! Today I break down those three little words...I love you. Saying it often and always. When it comes from a genuine place why wouldn’t you say it. There’s going to obviously be different dynamics and relationships with different meanings to saying it. You never ever know who needs to hear this statement. Does it lose it’s meaning if it’s said a lot? I don’t think so. At the end of the day, if you feel it say it. I also touch on how much we all as humans want and feel the same things and go through alot of the same questions about life.
In today's Friday random edition I proceed to pick a few random questions and answer them for me personally. I share a random story of my childhood and how I solved the Rubix cube. As well as some more fun question and answers including what I could always eat and my favorite colors. Tune in and enjoy this light hearted episode on this Friday!
Happy Thursday! In today's episode I talk about the need for going through both bad and good times. Both sides of the coin help teach you and grow. The importance of the most crucial relationship with yourself. My thoughts on why we need validation. Through all of our experiences we can begin to uncover what we do want and alot of the times its easier to think of what you don't want. How much we tend to take things for granted. You cant do anything with hindsight for your past all you can do is use it now.
Happy Wednesday! In today’s episode I talk about the power of connecting with people and having heart to heart conversations. I mention my recent connection and conversation with a fellow Empath/Highly Sensitive Person - Priya Ramji. Priya and I connected right through Instagram and after our first phone call it was so clear that we are on the same wavelength. Be sure to check out her company which is all about emotional intelligence for the corporate world. I also speak about losing relationships and having the harder conversations. @sixsensegroup | @itspriyaramji | Think You’re Type A? Happy Tuesday! Today I share my thoughts on surface and depth. Using your own read and intuition when it comes to different people places and situations. Some of the reasons why you don’t necessarily trust your own read and why you need to validate for yourself. Sometimes you do need to go through things that get messy in order to strengthen your trust for yourself. Let your feelings guide you and be mindful. Being cordial towards people that we might not agree with or want to associate with. Cordial doesnt mean you are being disingengiuos, it just means you can choose to in uncomfortable scenarios or handle healthy debates.
In today's episode, I talk about what happens when you supress emotions or hide from what you are feeling or holding back in hesitation. Sometimes, you will have to force yourself beyond your hesitations or other mind muckery. Being able to observe and feel into people online or in real life and using that to your advantage. The importance of believing your own feelings or observations.
Happy Sunday! In todays episode I riff on my thoughts around forgiveness. Both towards ourselves and others. If you forgive someone it doesnt mean that you are righting the wrong or making it seem like the action didnt occur it just allows you to let go so you can stop holding onto that. I also share just my current headspace around this podcast and how its okay to not necessarily have things all figured out. Also how its okay and "normal" to not feel like you are fitting a certain ideal of what we think we should be doing.
Happy Happy Saturday — It’s the last weekend of September so let’s make it count. Shoutout Saturday to @thiswomanfromny and her for reminding me and reflecting me to me. Wherever you go there you are. Your heart is your home. Doesn’t ever matter what your surroundings are, what job you have, starting something new, or moving - you’re still going to have all your stuff. All your truths and “baggage” goes with you no matter how much you try and run from it. A lot of these things like confidence, loving ourselves, listening to ourselves all come with time and experience. Managing and embracing yourself and your thoughts. The continuation of growth.
Happy Friday! Its time for another friday five but this time instead of 5 gratitudes and 5 random factoids about me I share my top tracks from spotify.me and answer a bunch of random questions. You won't wanna miss this one!
In today’s episode I speak about coming to the end of another month and 2019 around the corner. What is that thing that you’ve been hesitating in doing? Being our own worst critic and how that can be both a positive and a negative. Self criticism and perfectionism tend to go hand and hand. Being a human is just like an onion it has multiple and endless layers. When and how to get begins feeling stagnant. The importance of being your own biggest cheerleader and also balancing it out with being your biggest critic.
In today’s episode, I touch on perfection and how truly no one is “perfect.” We all our doing our best maneuvering through our lives. If it’s “perfect” than there is nothing to strive for or to work on. Everyone is forging their own path there really is no two paths that will ever look the same because it’s such an individual thing. The sheer power of vibrations. When you are in “rock bottom” or are going through a hard time you tend to get really creative and allowing your rollercoaster of emotions come forward. There is so many nuggets that come from being in the thick of dark times. My podcast with Jazz: Soul Gab with Ash and Jazz (https://anchor.fm/soul-gab-with-ash--jazz)
You never know who needs you. Who you might be touching or inspiring. I share my thoughts on follow through and along announcements. Sticking with a habit and becoming consistently dedicated. Letting things unfold. Being self reliant and independent. Family dynamics and the different communication and closeness of them. How I work through my own thoughts along with my creative flow. Moving through your fear or doubts or headspace. Opening up about my shame around my disappearance and shutting everything down in 2017. “I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious." -Albert Einstein My podcast with Jazz: Soul Gab with Ash and Jazz (https://anchor.fm/soul-gab-with-ash--jazz) Bryan Taylor: (http://passpodcast.com)
In todays episode I talk about the reflections amd awareness of finding blessing in your mistakes and your past choices. With hindsight, awareness you can truly begin to start to see why certain things transpired. When we listen to our heart it always knows exactly what we need most. I also touch on how to navigate through facing and dealing with your fear/worry around starting something new or again. I share one of my uncomfortable risks that I needed to experience at 27.
Happy Sunday! Today I share how completely glad I am to start over. Do you think you create your destiny or is it already predetermined? Having compassion for what you chose or did in your past because you did the best with what you had and the wisdom you had in that given moment. You forge your own path. You’re going to be brought similar flavored situations/relationships until you learn the lesson. My current on repeat song. — Y by Praa

The difference between synchronicity and coincidence and noticing these moments. The heart / feeling and the mind / logic. The 4 I talk about today: @thiswomanfromny @passpodcast @goodgrievings @jetsfan0523
