Kenya's Khaligraph Jones unleashes a can of whoop ass on Nigeria and all of its lyricists excluding four people (Modenine, Vector The Viper, Ice Prince & Jude Abaga). In less than 24 hours, the young spitter and fast-rising Payper Corleone had responded with "NOBODY", and also Lord GEM with a warning aptly titled "Fava Beans & A Nice Chianti" and a slew of other responses quickly followed.

Sway's (Sway In The Morning, Sway's Universe) presence at the Castle Lite may or may not have a thing to do with the backlash the event attracted when opinions flew around about the disregard for indigenous rapping artistes at the show. He was on SABC News and mentioned the launch of his #SwayColdCypher. He talked about vision & mission as his brand has always been about "Giving opportunities".
Sho Madjozi won the Best New International Act (Viewer's Choice) at the recently concluded BET Awards 2019. AKA didn't win as that group was snatched by Nigerian superstar Burnaboy.

Hiphop event #TheKulture hosted by Raezy Winston (Rhythm FM 93.7 host) is on for May 11th from 3pm. Venue is the Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos.

He is known for having penned one of the first books on Hiphop in Africa (2008's "Stealing Empire". He also co-edited the 2019's "Never Again: Hiphop Art, Activism & Education i Post-Apartheid South Africa".
