The purpose of celebrating Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is to recognize the overseas Indians who have contributed to the development of India. This day was first celebrated in 2003. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated on January 09 because Mahatma Gandhi returned India from South Africa on January 09, 1915. That is why Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated on January 09.  Objectives: • Its objective is to provide a platform for NRIs to express their feelings and perceptions about India. • Another objective of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is to create a network of NRIs in all the countries of the world and connecting the younger generation with immigrants. • This day is celebrated to know the difficulties faced by the Indian laborers living abroad and the government resolve their issues. • On this day, the government puts a focus on reconnecting overseas Indians with their roots so that they can contribute significantly to the development of the country. Rathinavani 90.8 CR Special Talk on World Day for International Justice by Law Student Ms. Gokila Anand
World Day for International Justice, also referred to as Day of International Criminal Justice or International Justice Day, is an international day celebrated throughout the world on July 17 as part of an effort to recognize the emerging system of international criminal justice. July 17 was chosen because it is the anniversary of the adoption of theRome Statute, the treaty that created the International Criminal Court. On 1 June 2010, at the Review Conference of the Rome Statute held in Kampala (Uganda), the Assembly of State Parties decided to celebrate 17 July as the Day of International Criminal Justice.[1] Each year, people around the world use this day to host events to promote international criminal justice, especially support for the International Criminal Court. The day has been successful enough to attract international news attention, and for groups to use the day to focus attention on particular issues such as genocide in Darfur, Falun Dafa, and serious crimes of violence against women.

June 23 Rathinaneram Show | International Widows Day | United Nations Public Service Day
June 23 Rathinaneram Show | International Widows Day | United Nations Public Service Day  International Widows Day is a United Nations ratified day of action to address the "poverty and injustice faced by millions of widows and their dependents in many countries".[1]The day takes place annually on 23 June. International Widows Day was established by The Loomba Foundation[clarification needed] to raise awareness of the issue of widowhood. The significance of 23 June is that it was on that day in 1954 that Shrimati Pushpa Wati Loomba, mother of the foundation's founder, Lord Loomba, became a widow.[2] One of the foundation’s key goals is to highlight what it describes as an invisible calamity. A 2010 book, Invisible, Forgotten Sufferers: The Plight of Widows Around the World, estimates that there are 245 million widows worldwide, 115 million of whom live in poverty and suffer from social stigmatization and economic deprivation purely because they have lost their husbands.[3] As part of the Loomba Foundation’s awareness campaign, this study was presented to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on 22 June 2010.[4] The first International Widows Day took place in 2005 and was launched by Lord Loomba and the foundation's president, Cherie Blair.[5] By the sixth International Widows Day in 2010, events were held in Rwanda, Sri Lanka, the United States, the UK, Nepal, Syria, Kenya, India, Bangladesh and South Africa.[6]

Father's Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds and the influence of fathers in society. In Catholic countries of Europe, it has been celebrated on March 19 (Saint Joseph's Day) since the Middle Ages. This celebration was brought by the Spanish and Portuguese to Latin America, where March 19 is often still used for it, though many countries in Europe and the Americas have adopted the U.S. date, which is the third Sunday of June. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the months of March, April and June according to the home nation's customs. It complements similar celebrations honoring family members, such as Mother's Day, Siblings Day and Grandparents' Day.

Earth Day Special | Radio Talk by Mr Vandhan | To solve climate change | To end plastic pollution | To protect endangered species, and to broaden the education about it.
Earth Day Special | Radio Talk by Mr Vandhan |  To solve climate change | To end plastic pollution | To protect endangered species, and to broaden the education about it. Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22.  Worldwide, various events are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day now includes events in more than 193 countries, which are coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network.  On Earth Day 2016, the landmark Paris Agreement was signed by the United States, China, and some 120 other countries. This signing satisfied a key requirement for the entry into force of the historic draft climate protection treaty adopted by consensus of the 195 nations present at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris.  In 1969 at a UNESCO Conference in San Francisco, peace activist John McConnell  proposed a day to honor the Earth and the concept of peace, to first be  celebrated on March 21, 1970, the first day of spring in the northern  hemisphere. This day of nature's equipoise was later sanctioned in a  proclamation written by McConnell and signed by Secretary General U Thant at the United Nations.  A month later a separate Earth Day was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in first held on April 22, 1970. Nelson was later awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom award in recognition of his work. While this April 22 Earth Day was focused on the United States, an organization launched by Denis Hayes, who was the original national coordinator in 1970, took it international in 1990 and organized events in 141 nations.

What Punishment Should We Give To Abstention? Our Rathinavani 90.8 Community Radio Listener Farook Baadsha Speaks up his Suggestions & Ideas for Election Commission of India ! Pre Recorded Show - Before 18th April 2019 What is Abstention? Abstention is a term in election procedure for when a participant in a vote either does not go to vote (on election day) or, inparliamentary procedure, is present during the vote, but does not cast a ballot.[1] Abstention must be contrasted with "blank vote", in which a voter casts a ballot willfully made invalid by marking it wrongly or by not marking anything at all. A "blank (or white) voter" has voted, although their vote may be considered a spoilt vote, depending on each legislation, while an abstaining voter hasn't voted. Both forms (abstention and blank vote) may or may not, depending on the circumstances, be considered to be a protest vote (also known as a "blank vote" or "white vote").

If the registration isn't done by them – then we will ask them to  Knock on their head as a punishment. Later we will educate the process of calling 1950 & Voter’s  Helpline App to register their name with valid documents.

Rathinavani 90.8 Community Radio Broadcast International Mountain Day Theme - #MountainsMatter
Rathinavani 90.8 Community Radio Broadcast International Mountain Day Theme - #MountainsMatter ! ”#MountainsMatter” is the theme chosen for this year’s celebration of International Mountain Day. Even though they are mentioned in the 2030 Agenda, mountains are still often forgotten. Considering the crucial role they play in providing key ecosystem goods and services to the planet and their vulnerability in the face of climate change, we need to step up and raise attention to mountains. #MountainsMatter for Water as mountains are the world’s ‘water towers’, providing between 60 and 80 percent of all freshwater resources for our planet. However, all available records indicate that glaciers in mountain ranges around the world are retreating and disappearing due to climate change. At least 600 glaciers have disappeared completely over the past decades, affecting water supplies relied on by billions living downstream. #MountainsMatters for Disaster Risk Reduction as climatic variations are triggering disasters. Avalanches, mudflows and landslides are tumbling downstream, stripping bare forests, flooding communities and populations. #MountainsMatter for Tourism as mountain destinations attract around 15-20 percent of global tourism and are areas of important cultural diversity, knowledge and heritage. Although mountain tourism has the potential to foster economic development in remote and isolated regions, many mountain communities are still not benefiting and live in poverty. #MountainsMatter for Food as they are important centres of agricultural biodiversity and are home to many of the foods that come to our table, such as rice, potatoes, quinoa, tomatoes and barley. Yet, they are home to some of the hungriest peoples in the world with a high vulnerability to food shortages and malnutrition, and climate change is affecting mountain agriculture. #MountainsMatter for Youth as despite the beautiful landscapes, life in the mountains can be tough, particularly for rural youth. Abandoning their villages in search of employment elsewhere has led to an absence of young people and an increasing labour shortage. Migration from mountains leads to an increase in abandoned agricultural, land degradation and often forest fires. At community level, cultural values and ancient traditions are lost.

Rathinavani 90.8 CR Broadcast World Development Information Day Special Talk by RTC ECE Dept Student
Rathinavani 90.8 CR Broadcast World Development Information Day Special Talk by Rathinam Technical Campus ECE Dept Student. In 1972, the United Nations General Assembly decided to institute a World Development Information Day coinciding with United Nations Day on October 24. The General Assembly had the object of drawing the attention of world public-opinion each year to development problems and the necessity of strengthening international co-operation to solve them.[1] The day was further recognized as the date on which the International Development Strategy for the Second Nations Development Decade was adopted in 1970. On May 17, 1972, the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) proposed measures for information dissemination and for the mobilization of public opinion relative to trade and development problems. These became known as resolution 3038 (XXVII), which the UN General Assembly passed on December 19, 1972. This resolution called for introducing World Development Information Day to help draw the attention of people worldwide to development problems. A further aim of the event is to explain to the general public why it is necessary to strengthen international cooperation to find ways to solve these problems. The assembly also decided that the day should coincide with United Nations Day to stress the central role of development in the UN's work. World Development Information Day was first held on October 24, 1973, and has been held on this date each year since then. In recent years many events have interpreted the title of the day slightly differently. These have concentrated on the role that modern information-technologies, such as the Internet and mobile telephones free from digital divide can play in alerting people and finding solutions to problems of trade and development. One of the specific aims of World Development Information Day was to inform and motivate young people and this change may help to further this aim.
