Ep. 038 - How To Start Thinking And Acting Like A MILLIONAIRE

Ep. 038 - How To Start Thinking And Acting Like A MILLIONAIRE

Met up with Tanner Chidester in Miami this past week! I've seen his ads for fitness and business coaching all over the place and always wanted to get a chance to meet him and ask him a few questions. In the next 45min. you're going to hear a little bit about how he grew his very own $50M business and how he thinks about everything along the way. What I love most about this episode is the simple fact that we never met each other until this point and all of the questions are out of genuine curiosity. 2 questions of which I think will seriously make you think.... "Knowing all that you know about business now, would you have stuck with fitness or would you still have switched to business?" And... "At this point in your career, if you were tell someone else exactly how to compete with you in business, do you think it would even affect you at all?" -- I find it very interesting to know why people switch industries and why some people share lots of info about their business and others don't. I think you're really going to learn a lot during this episode and I hope you enjoy it! If you do love it, don't forget to share it! Appreciate you all and see ya soon!

Ep. 037 - The Concept of FREE

Ep. 037 - The Concept of FREE

Alex Hormozi is a good friend and serial entrepreneur in the fitness space with over $120M in sales in just the last few years. Rather than dive into each individual business and talk about how things work, I wanted to surround the conversation with something that tends to be the key component that no one ever seems to talk about. The concept of giving something away for free. Because in almost all of Alex's businesses and most of the successful people I have on the show... This tends to be a VERY important piece to their secret sauce. By the time this episode is over, you should be contemplating about what you can give away for free to raise your personal value. What types of messages can you give away to build trust? And what type of value do you want to put out into the world to make you THE MAN/WOMAN for the job when people are looking for an expert.Β

Ep. 036 - Life After Sport, What Makes a Great Coach, And More With Olympic Gold Medalist Rich Lambourne

Ep. 036 - Life After Sport, What Makes a Great Coach, And More With Olympic Gold Medalist Rich Lambourne

Rich Lambourne (2008 Olympic Gold Medalist in Volleyball) has been coming to my gym for years and as I walked into my office the other day to do a podcast about a completely different topic, I saw him finishing his workout and decided to ask him if he wanted to hop on the mic. We decided to chat mostly on life after being an athlete and dive into what we are both currently doing now. Would we change anything? Would we have done anything differently along the way? These questions eventually lead Rich into talking about his current career as a coach for the US Volleyball team. At this point we dive into what we consider to be attributes of being a great coach versus a great athlete. From here we dive into small holes of programming and our past versus training routines. An absolute great all around listen with many topics and a phenomenal guest that I'm fortunate to call a friend. Enjoy!

Ep. 035 - Business Optimization

Ep. 035 - Business Optimization

It's been interesting seeing how the world of fitness has evolved over the past year. From the pure decimation of in person gyms to the explosion of online training. I'd like touch base on all of the above, but alsoΒ give my insight to what I think is important right now in terms of entrepreneurship in all of the fitness careers across the board. I touch on ways to use paid ads, my thoughts on where gyms will be in the next year, and all the things I would do, if I was in various different shoes. If you want a career in fitness, this will be a great episode for you. However, if you already have a career in fitness, this will equally be a great episode for you! Enjoy!

Ep. 034 - My interview with Dr. L

Ep. 034 - My interview with Dr. L

I met Dr. L in Lake Tahoe at a podcast event and a few simple questions turned into an exchange of life stories. I actually didn't even know, at the time, that she was a clinical psychologist and that my story was more than just a fun quick listen... Rather she was examining it on a whole new level that we finally go to talk about together on this show. Throughout the episode we touch on just about every section of my life and even dive into a few personal questions as well. The majority of the questions try to pull out my "why" for everything I do and how small things earlier in our lives can have such profound affects later in life.Β

What's up with me lately!?

Well, I have been busting my butt on a few new programs for the Chalk Performance Training App. If you are not currently a member, I highly recommend checking it out. I have been creating programs for over 15 years and this app is a culmination of all my favorite techniques narrowed down into 5 daily programs. You can read more about the programs on my website at GymRyan.com. However, my favorite new program is the full body aesthetics program on the app. Instead of traditional muscle splits, we do every muscle group every day in a much lower volume format with constantly varied accessory movements (There is a progressive strength focus each day). If you're currently in a training plateau, this will for sure break you out of it! Absolute game changer in terms of getting excited to go to the gym again!

Ep. 033 - Be More Efficient w/ Dr. Nick

Ep. 033 - Be More Efficient w/ Dr. Nick

Ever wish you could just sit down and chat with a doctor for a whole hour and half instead of 10 minutes? Well, that's how cool this episode is for me. And not only was it cool to get some answers, but Dr. Nick (@TheFittestDoc on Instagram) also happens to be a training junkie as well. So the answers you get and the tangents he goes off on are exactly the same ones you are thinking in that moment.Β

It's so rare to get a Doctor who's so relatable, fit, and doesn't have answer to anyone but himself. As an online doctor (@steadyMD) he essentially represents his own brand and therefore gets to be true to his original core values.Β

Hope you enjoy this one!

Ep. 032 - The Millennial Hustle w/ Dylan Bryant

Ep. 032 - The Millennial Hustle w/ Dylan Bryant

Dylan Bryant is one of those rare millennials you see driving around in a Lamborghini who instead of bragging, literally never talks about what he does at all. In fact, He showed up to my gym everyday for almost 5 years before I ever knew much about him at all. While I do think there's something very powerful about his humbleness, especially at 26 years old, I was even more impressed by the way it all started and his answers to some of the questions I had during our podcast. At just 17 years old, he started his entrepreneurial journey by flipping X-Boxes and iPhones on Craigslist in his spare time after school. And then he moved all the way across the country just to go to college for only 3 weeks before realizing that his true passion was in online sales.Β

Fast forward 8 years later and he’s officially built himself a multimillion dollar business with zero degrees and zero starting capitol. While I usually have people on who specialize in fitness ventures, Dylans story is great for people who have passions that can not be taught in classroom. His story is for the few out there that are stuck in between more schooling or taking the slightly more risky route. However, if you listen close, there really is no risk involved if it's the only thing you want to do. Passion always wins.Β

Ep. 031 - Two fascinating men. One microphone. A Hunter McIntyre Exclusive.

Hunter McIntyre holds multiple world titles across a variety mud running events, Hyrox, he was undefeated for years on the hit TV show "Broken Skull Ranch," and he even debuted for a season at the 2019 CrossFit Games. Known as a "Wild Man" among many and I absolutely would have to agree, but... His unorthodox style is what makes so many love him. He is without a doubt one of the funniest and oddest personalities you will ever meet, while also simultaneously holding the ability inside him to crush endurance athletes across a multitude of events.Β

Hunter is and has always been a paid professional athlete and when COVID struck, he was forced to pivot a little in his daily routine. You will get to hear first hand what his plans are to make an even bigger footprint as a business man than he made as an athlete. His idea is pretty damn cool and a first of its kind. Anxious to hear what it is? Well... I guess you'll just have to listen.Β

Per usual, we do get some classic Hunter banter in the last 30min. that will make driving relatively dangerous, so I recommend listening to that part at home ;)

Ep. 030 - The best of Chris Williamson

Chris Williamson owns a podcast called Modern Wisdom in which he teaches people how to live a good life, finding their purpose, maximize their performance, productivity, fitness and psychology.

That being said – It's not uncommon to hear him interviewing pornstars, discussing the likelihood of alien civilisations and discovering what it’s like to be a soldier in the Special Forces.

Β I wanted to reach out to him and ask him some his favorite moments he's encountered during these 200+ episodes. Like a great author writes a book, here are the highlights of a few hundred podcast with Chris Williamson.

A show about just taking chances and seeing what happens. In this episode Jared and I talk about very subtle reach-outs, phone calls, or experiences we've had that have led to so many other amazing things. Like I always talk about, time and time again... Ep. 028 - Out Passion Everyone

Ep. 028 - Out Passion Everyone

Things have been crazy in my life the past few months and unfortunately I had to take a break from the podcast for a while... Until I made a post today and had a few conversations with friends and employees that just happened to light a fire inside me to speak.
I truly believe that there's a reason for everything.
In this episode, I speak on some of the struggles I had in the past that gave me relentless work ethic. Taught me how to truly grind like nothing else.
These small segments of stories eventually lead to several segway's of how to increase your business via social media or any other route that lets you use an online platform.
The online space isn't for everyone, but you will never know until you try. And if you don’t... While in the fitness space... It will be a very difficult road to success.
I'll explain in this epsiode.
Regardless, you are about to get FIRED up. Let's go!

Ep. 025 Hard Work Beats Talent

Ep. 025 Hard Work Beats Talent

My story of couch surfing to a 7 figure business. I know this is a repeat episode (From my older podcast platform. It's new if you haven't been following me for a while), but I felt like it needed to be re-aired considering the time we are currently living in (I also added a damn good intro to kick it off).

We all need inspiring stories to keep us motivated and remind us of what is possible (Especially during times like this). Sometimes we settle with mediocre and forget what our original goals were. We forget what we were put on this earth to do. We get scared. We fail. We make excuses. We put ourselves in a place with limits. But what if... What if our soul has another plan the whole time? What if we don’t know what it is, but it keeps us awake at night? It reminds us that what we are doing is either right or wrong. It consumes our every movement, breathe, thought, and action. It is a gut feeling that never steers you in the wrong direction. It is... Everything you were meant to be and more. You just have to trust it.

This is my story. It always gets me emotional, so I’m sorry for the sad parts, but it’s enough to light you up for the week and it’s real shit that we can all accomplish.Β

Enjoy! I love you all.

Ep. 024 The CEO of Koia - Entrepreneurship, finding your passion, and much more!

Chris Hunter is one of the guys responsible for Four Loko, the formerly caffeinated alcoholic drink that was blamed for causing a few deaths in which the government then cracked down on, hard.

Four Loko is still on the market today -- and apparently selling well -- but Hunter, who was 25 when the brand was created, has since moved on to other businesses. His current pursuit is leading Koia, a plant-based protein beverage company. Quite the career pivot, right?

The beverage brand launched nationally in Whole Foods in 2016 and has since expanded to the shelves of more than 4,000 U.S. stores. It expects to have $25 million in sales for this year.Β

This podcast outlines all the steps it took him to get there.Β

Ep. 020 Tips On Crushing Life

I recently was on a friends podcast talking about so many valuable topics that I thought it needed to be shared on my channel as well.

We dive into my "heard around the world" 2012 CrossFit regionals incident, my online businesses, training and nutrition programs, and my newest venture which is a social media marketing agency. However, the biggest value comes into play in the moments where we share what we like to see in potential employees, what has worked best for us so far, and ways we plan to improve our already thriving businesses.
