Mark Perlberg has a passion for entrepreneurship and helping people navigate the complex world of accounting and taxes to reach their goals. He worked as a real estate agent in New York City before studying accounting in order to provide clients a greater understanding of financial decisions that impact them and their businesses.

Kyle comes from a family of real estate entrepreneurs. His father opened and operated a real estate brokerage in 1989 in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. In 2004 Kyle obtained his RE license and joined his father in representing buyers and sellers of residential and commercial real estate.

While working for his father, he began to build his own residential real estate portfolio as an investor/owner. As of 2021 Kyle and his wife Jaclyn own multiple apartment buildings throughout Oregon, Arkansas, and Tennessee and mini storage and residential adult care facilities. The Robertson’s live in the Pacific Northwest with their three children, two dogs, and hamster.

Ryan Spak has a passion for Philadelphia’s neighborhoods, their history and its real estate. This passion, coupled with  fifteen years of entrepreneurial experience in building maintenance, construction and real estate development ignited his firm belief that no distressed property should ever remain in an inhabitable, unsafe condition.  

Because of his community development efforts, Ryan is a member of several boards and local committees, mentors through the JumpStart program and has been a guest speaker at National Conferences on Vacant Land  National Code Enforcement and the Philadelphia Poverty Conference.    Within his organization, Ryan focuses on property acquisition, joint venture partnerships, construction management  and financing for Spak Group. In this episode, we talk about the importance of building a cash-flowing business and investing the capital from that business into wealth-generating assets. We also talk about dealing with limiting beliefs, how to build a solid team, how to talk to sellers, creating systems and processes, and empowering others to crush their goals.

Nick grew up in Northern Virginia and spent the first 5 years of his career in Personal Training before moving to Austin, TX where he now resides. He moved to Austin with no job, network, and very little money. Shortly after moving to Austin, TX, in pursuit of new opportunities, Nick came across wholesaling on Youtube and decided to give it a try. It took him 11 months to get his first deal but he did not give up. He worked 18 hours a day 7 days a week. He ended up getting a 9-5 job at Indeed.com and the rest of his time was fully devoted to building his real estate business. This was not an easy task for Nick and it took him 3 years before he got any consistency in his business which eventually led to him quitting his 9-5 job. He credits the setbacks and experiences that he went through for helping him get to where he is today.

Currently, Nick and his team do $300 - $400k a month wholesaling real estate nationwide. They have a 10 person staff at their headquarters in Austin TX. Today, Nick's role is that of an advisor for the company and his COO.

Born into a military family, Ricardo had the opportunity to travel across North and South America, eventually jumping into the workforce right out of high school. He started his career as a bilingual account specialist at CitiMortgage, rising through the ranks, quickly becoming a manager. As a manager, he honed his leadership while guiding multi-faceted teams aimed at creating client solutions during the peak of the mortgage crisis. After years of management, he decided to pursue a life-long dream of following in his family's footsteps and become an Airman in the United States Air Force. 

Ricardo graduated with a degree in International Studies from the University of South Florida, where he also earned his officer commission and appointment to become a pilot. After excelling in pilot training and demonstrating the core values of military leadership, he was selected to become an instructor pilot. Ricardo's eclectic experience behind the desk and in the cockpit allow him to guide investors and foster critical relationships in the industry. He is responsible for asset management as well as the implementation of business systems to keep the company running efficiently.  

Pat was born in New Jersey and grew up in the northeast. After high school, he pursued and earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh where he also earned his commission in the United States Air Force. Also selected to become an instructor, Pat would train America's next generation of combat pilots in the T-38 Talon. While flying he also scaled the ranks and became a Flight Commander responsible for the demanding training and well being of over 15 pilots.  

Pat's unmatched experience in and out of the cockpit, coupled with his technical education make him an integral part of the business. Pat leads the team with a focus on risk analysis and underwriting as well as financial strategy for the company.

Matthew Larson is a full-time real estate investor with over 14 years of experience. Originally from the Quad Cities, a medium-sized metropolitan area on the Iowa/Illinois border, his business now spans across most of the Midwestern United States. Starting his working career as a low-paid machinist who supplied parts to companies like John Deere, he has transformed into an internationally renowned authority on investment real estate with over 4000 completed real estate transactions under his belt.  

He currently owns over 200 rental properties in his portfolio and is a veteran of turnkey real estate. Matt has a unique and in-depth understanding of investing and property management through his trials and errors over time. He has completed over 1000 fix and flips dozens of lease options, and thousands of wholesale deals. In addition to his vast experience in single-family homes, he has also purchased dozens of commercial and apartment buildings. 

Matt also teaches aspiring and expert real estate investors tactical strategies on how they can grow their investment businesses. His trainings are extremely thorough. Matt prides himself on teaching the most effective, up-to-date tools to make anyone's venture into real estate investing success, and is one of the few trainers in the space who is still an active, large-scale investor. Our special guest today is Jim Zaspel. Jim is an accomplished real estate investor and lifelong entrepreneur who has always believed in the adage: “when you stop learning, you start dying.” He is always learning and is always ready to challenge himself and take on new ideas.  

Jim is a huge fan of traveling because each new place offers so many opportunities that he would not ordinarily be able to try. He and his wife, who met at a real estate investor networking event, made the most of their honeymoon by spending ten days in Hawaii. One of Jim’s favorite memories of the trip was taking Maui’s backside road to Hana; the experience is a perfect example of how he enjoys taking the “road less traveled” and exploring beyond his comfort zone.  

Always striving for ways to balance his work, his entrepreneurship, and his hobbies, Jim frequently travels around the country with his wife and stepson and for real estate investing conferences. These opportunities allow him to network with industry experts and, at the same time, take an extra day or two to have fun in a new place. He enjoys renting motorcycles to explore these areas.  What enables Jim to constantly grow, learn, and travel is the flexibility of his business. While the foundation of the company is rock-solid, he can keep tabs on its day-to-day operations and can be run from almost anywhere; from emails to phone calls or FedEx deliveries, Jim can take his work with him. However, he also needs a team of dedicated specialists who can continue to run the business as he pursues his work-life balance. At the end of the day, Jim balances his real estate group, his entrepreneurship, and his outside interests by keeping one thing in mind: whatever you’re doing, give it 100%.
