S2 E1 - New Year, New Mindset, New Life
Domestic violence can be one of the most difficult types of situations to talk about and escape from. And, sadly, it can happen to anyone – women, men, children, between spouses, and even friends. No one is immune to domestic violence.
Today I want to share a real and complete story with you of how I got a new mindset and started a new chapter in my life in a new year.
S2:E1 Addiction to Tea
Are you addicted to caffeine, drugs, or people's approval? Are you addicted to your phone and cannot go anywhere without it? How about your social media? Are you addicted to what is going on and suffer from FOMO - the fear of missing out when your phone is not on or near you.
Today I want to share my addiction story and the fear of breast cancer.
S1 E10: You Have A Voice, Use It!
Martin Luther King, Jr. said “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter.”
What matters to you and are you vocal or silent about them? We all have a voice and should use it to make a difference in somebody’s life. I am not speaking to just be heard, but to have an impact and change lives.
S1 E9: Don't Die Over A Relationship!
Have you ever been in a relationship that almost killed you? I mean literally ended your life? I have, and I know what I’m talking about, and I thank God that I survived and I’m here to tell the story.
This guy was more my type: same age, rough, tall, a smooth operator, full of ambition and very flashy and had money. What a grave mistake! From the beginning, I should have listened to my inner voice, which kept on telling me this was wrong. I chose to ignore the voice and followed my own desire because I was smitten with this guy and was so desperate to be loved the right way that I fell madly in love and in lust with him.
Our relationship came out into the open, and I discovered he was dating me and another girl in the choir and the youth group. And they had been dating and engaged to marry.
The whole sordid relationship was exposed and I was made out to be Jezebel, the evil demon-possessed girl caught in a love triangle, trying to ruin their relationship, the youth group and the church. Everybody blamed me for everything.
I took an overdose and waited to die.
S1 E8: The Joy & Pain of Mothers Day!
Mother’s Day is a celebration that takes place all over the world, but for some, it is not necessarily a time of celebration.
From the age of ten, I dreaded Mother’s Day because I was angry and felt that my mother chose to abandon and reject me, depriving me of the love and relationship I could have had with her, especially as I grew up into my teens and started to develop as a girl. I had to rely on the men who were there for me to take me shopping for my first bra and help me through my first menstrual cycle.
Let me stop here and applaud the many amazing men and fathers who are dual parents. We celebrate you on this day too because I grew up with a few men in my life as well.
I believe that in our life many of us will have the amazing opportunity to be influenced and even raised by five types of mothers (biological, natural, adopted, spiritual and destiny mother), each bringing something unique and wonderful to complement and complete us to become the best version of ourselves.
S1 E7: It's OK Not To Be OK! -
John Lennon said everything will be okay in the end. if it’s not ok, it’s not the end of the world.
There is too much pressure from family, friends, social media and society that are constantly bombarding us with information that indirectly tells us over and over again “it’s not ok, to not be ok”
As leaders in any capacity whether at home, at work, in the community, in church, or as a professional, there is a certain expectation that you don’t show emotion, that you compose yourself at all times and never let people see you cry or weak.
In trying to stay strong, keep everything and everyone together, many people are dying internally and externally because they are afraid to show their emotions, so they would not be judged, ridiculed or talked about.

S1 E6: Choose Life Over Abuse
January 1st, 1992 was when everything turned upside down in my life! I ended up in the Emergency hospital because of domestic violence.
Prior to COVID-19, Canada saw an increase in domestic violence, and now with the spread of COVID-19 and social distancing, the violence against women at home has gotten worse with many women experiencing an increase in threats because they are isolated at home with their abusers.
- You do not have to stay home to be safe
- You do not have to stay in an abusive relationship to maintain your status in Canada
- You do not have to listen to anyone who tells you to stay in the marriage and submit
- You do not have to stay silent to protect your image, your husband, your family name or your children
- You have a choice to choose life over death!
- You have a choice to choose freedom over captivity!
- The Bible says Jesus came to set the captives free, and Jesus came that you might have life and life abundantly - there is no life in an abusive relationship.

S1 E5: A Case For Divorce
I have very few friends, and one exceptional friend, who has always been there for me, and has never left me or abandoned me. No matter where I go or what I am doing or where I am in life, I can always rely on her to be with me every step of the way.
My friend’s name is insecurity! I first met insecurity when I was nine years old, and in a boarding school in England. I was a new student, who hardly spoke English and was thrust into a world and culture I was unprepared for.

S1 E1: Call His Name
With everything that is going on with COVID-19, many are very discouraged. But instead of turning to the world, why not turn to Jesus and call his name

S1 E4: No More Limitations!
No More Limitation!!!
I believe in my heart that God has given you a purpose, a vision, a goal, a dream and a desire to represent him in the Seven Pillars of society: to represent him in the 1) home, 2) in the education system, 3) in business, 4) in media, 5) in arts & entertainment, 6) in government & politics, and 7) in the church & ministry.
God has given you talents and a gift and the ability to be successful, fruitful, multiply, fill the earth with your vision, have dominion and create a legacy. You’re thinking of relocating, getting married, having a baby, or starting a new job, a new career, business, going into politics, or starting a ministry or church. But you have a very large stone in your way. Your stone is your lack of education, your lack of experience, lack of network. Your stone could also be your gender, age, accent, ethnicity, or skin colour.
It could also be your background, culture, tradition, status or even your environment. Not only do you have a large obstacle in your way, but you also don’t have the support network, the contacts. and you’re thinking who's going to open the door for you, who is going to connect you, who is going to support you. Who is going to recommend you or give you the opportunity and platform? Who?

S1 E3: Turn Your Lemons Into Lemonade
The question asked is, what are you doing with your downtime, isolation and situation you find yourself in with this COVID-19?
Are you making anything with the lemon you have given during this pandemic?
Listen and be encouraged. God has called every Deborah into one or more of the 7 Pillars of Society; some women are called to be at home raising the family, some are called into the education system, some are called into media, to the arts and entertainment, some are called to business, to government and politics, and some are called to church & ministry.
We must take our position. God keeps reminding me that something good will come out of this and this year is the YEAR OF REWARD for the Deborah's! Even in the midst of COVID 19 - if you use your isolation, social distancing and downtime to be strategic, to be intentional and reset, rebuild and relaunch yourself in the pillar or pillars God has called you to - there is a reward for you.
There will be life after COVID-19 and that life will be based on what you do during the pandemic.
