This week we are back with guests writer/ director Alan Main and cinematographer Cameron Blyth to discuss their new movie addressing mens mental health - True Sickness. We chat about the process of film making from the conception of the idea through to conclusion, influences and the responsibility of helming a project like this and more.

This week we’re talking about the good fans can do for their respective communities through football with Neil Cowan of Jags For Good.

Jags For Good are a Partick Thistle supporters group who are currently engaging with the club in a number of ways, from season book donation drives that include the local refugee population to help them settle in their new surroundings, to food bank drives and collecting a really impressive amount of donations in the form of money from fans, players and the club alike. 

It was a real pleasure to have Neil in and we wish them well with the campaign. Please consider getting involved if/ where you can. The world is a tough place right now and we firmly believe belonging to a community is one of the things that will get us all through it.

This week we’re talking about the rise of Cryptocurrency and NFTs with Daniel Thomas, Chancellors Fellow at Strathclyde University, who specialises in Security and Cybercrime.

We discuss everything from the mechanics of Crypto and it’s impact on both the environment and society, the volatility of the markets and if the claims made around the security of exchanges and the blockchain are everything we’re being told they are.

We also discuss the burgeoning NFT markets around the world and how, or if, it’s possible to imbue something with no intrinsic value as something with the characteristics of a sound investment.

This all comes in a week where the markets we’re discussing have tanked, wiping hundreds of billions of pounds off these markets values.

This week’s guest is David Cranna, author of Glass City, a self-published detective noir comic set 100 years in the future - where Glasgow (Glass City) finds itself amalgamated with Edinburgh to make one massive mega-city. We chat about the process of making comics, including building a team and funding your endeavour. We compare notes on some of our favourite comics as well as discuss Glasgow’s prominent standing in the industry as well as some of the all-time great writers and artists from the city. 

In our first episode of 2022, Paul and I caught up on what’s been happening over recent months, the stresses and strains of Christmas and New Year and the impact of Partygate amongst other things. Sorry our new year episode is out in February, Paul had this ready a week ago and I totally missed that we were ready to go. We’re a slick operation! 

Hi guys,  Sorry for the long break but we're back with another excellent guest in Anna Cowan!  Anna is the Co-Founder of Girls Against, a campaign group standing up to sexual assault and misogyny in live music venues.   We'd like to thank Anna for her time and her voice on a growing issue with the rise in spikings happening in Night Clubs across the UK.

This week we’re getting into independent Scottish cinema with Paul Morris, writer, director and, from the sounds of it, pretty much everything in between at some point in the production of his new film Angry Young Men.

We chat about the challenges and hurdles faced when making a movie independently in this country, how technology has changed things and how Paul’s influences can be seen in his work.

Angry Young Men is a surreal/ dystopian look at growing up in a scheme/ gang environment and how many who seek to leave often find themselves trapped where they are.
