Episode 30 - Where do I find talent?

This week we ask the question, "Where do I find talent?"

One of the many questions I am asked by executives and hiring managers alike is where to find great talent. They also want to know what I do, as a professional recruiter, that is SO different than what they would do to find talent.

We answer those questions in a short, informative podcast aimed at helping you determine how you want to build your team, where to look for talent, how to pitch your opportunity, and reel in the talent you need to build a championship team.

Primary questions to ask yourself in this process to help you determine where your "fish" (Talent) live:

  • Where do my fish live today?
  • What do they eat?
  • What is the economic condition? Does that impact where the fish live and eat?

Episode 28 - Designing a Structured Recruiting Process

Episode 28 - Designing a Structured Recruiting Process

This episode Adrian dives in to how to design a structured hiring process to help you make efficient and effective hires and not waste time or resources in the process. Structured Hiring Process: o  Candidates feed in through your recruiting & marketing efforts o  Create a Scorecard – What are the essential KSA’s needed? § What should be included here? o  Create a Hiring Board – Team involved in the decision making process for each role. o  Schedule and Interview Candidates: How many? o  Submit Scorecard – Digital Tally: What score is a NO and what is a YES? o  Have a standing roundup with stakeholders/graders: This should primarily confirm the gradecard and determine: Start Date, Compensation, Career Path, Training. o  Offer or Provide feedback: Be direct, honest, and thorough. o  Background Check o  Onboard o  Check in // Progress Report // 30-60-90 – Annual. Episode 26 - Recruiting Strategy versus Hiring Process?

Episode 26 - Recruiting Strategy versus Hiring Process?

In this weeks episode we discuss helpful tips for improving your recruiting strategy and the difference between a recruiting strategy and a hiring process.

What are some things to consider on your recruiting strategy?
🎯Identify hiring triggers: How much money you need to cashflow before you can hire, then map what roles to hire in sequence.
🎯Create a
#jobdescription that clearly explains the role, expectations and salary band and isn't a generic copy and paste job from the internet.
🎯Create performance #metrics (if you don't have them already) that tell a person exactly how to succeed in the role. ie. # of calls, sales, tickets, resolutions, shipments, etc.
🎯Identify the #traits a person needs to accomplish the #jobdescription and #metrics listed above.
🎯Find out where the #people with those #traits live and work.
🎯Ask who in our current company has the best ability to #recruit those people?
🎯Determine your #valueproposition, your #mission and your #why as an organization.
🎯Deploy your #talenthunters once you have got all stakeholders in a room, given them a job, and reinforced what talent, character, skills, knowledge, and values you are looking for. Book recommended in this episode:
