How To Repair A Blown Tire On Your Spiritual Journey
How To Repair A Blown Tire On Your Spiritual Journey
Ever had a blown tire on the road? It interrupts your trip. There is no way forward till you get that baby fixed. (Hey, why do we refer to random things as "baby"? Do other countries do that? Sorry, ADD kicked in.)    There is nothing you can do until you get the blown tire repaired. NOTHING. You're just stuck. I think our spiritual journeys experience blown tires. That moment when things blow up and there is no way forward. More often than not, that blown tire in our spiritual journeys is caused by the three-letter word s-i-n.    So how do we move forward when we blow a tire, when we sin big time? How did the Israelites do it? Let's go back into the wilderness this week with Moses and the Israelites to see how to repair that blown tire of sin so that our spiritual journey can move forward.

The Pit Stop Isn't The Promised Land
Ever taken a pit stop on your road trip? No matter how cool the rack of random trinkets is and no matter how satisfying your favorite bag of potato chips is, the pit stop isn't the promised land. The promised land (the final destination) is always better than the places we stop to refuel. And it's no different for our spiritual journeys.    We all experience pit stops, but how do we leave the pit stops and get back on track to our promised land?

How To Thrive In LIfe's Desert
Ever been on a road trip? Ever been asked (Or been the one asking) "Are we there yet?"    In this series we are answering that very question, but not just about a road trip, but about our spiritual lives. How do we know if we are in fact "there?" What is "there", where is "there", when is "there"? Can "there" even be a when?    In a world where everyone decides their own truth and their own level of spirituality, is there an objective "there"? And if there is, who decides it and how do we know when we make it "there"? Are you confused? Well tune in and things will be cleared up.

How To Lead Your Gen
What generation do you belong to? Are you a Boomer, a Gen-X, a Millennial, a Gen-Z, or Gen Alpha? (Wait, did you even know there was such a thing as Gen Alpha? Yep, there is.)  Whatever generation you are a part of you have an obligation to "Help The Next Gen Win." Yes, even the participation trophy generations and the Tide pod generation. (Also, as you will see, those two accusations aren't fair assessments of those generations. Promise.)    What would the church look like if people in different generations were filled with grace and generosity for the people outside their generation rather than judgment and frustration? In Wk 1 we will wrestle with the question, what qualifies us to "Help The Next Gen Win"?    #Gen #Generation #Boomer #GenX #Millennial #GenZ #GenAlpha

What do these things have in common?   One more cookie.   A faster car.   Juicy cossip. (Gossip with a "c" - We couldn't think of another word to start with C so we improvised.)    These are all temptations that we often struggle with. How should we deal with temptations? Should we just give in to them? Are they worth fighting? If they are worth fighting, why are they worth fighting? What do we gain from slugging it out with temptation?  We think temptations ARE worth fighting and in this video Pastor Cory will give three ways to resist temptation and a vision of what hangs in the balance of that very fight.

Hell. It’s used as a curse word in our culture more than it’s recognized as a concept or location anymore. But why is that? Why has the idea of a literal Hell become less and less popular? And furthermore, what is Hell?   When you picture Hell do you see a comic Satan with horns, cloven feet, a pointed tail, and a pitch fork ready to throw a red themed party filled with the world’s favorite sins for eternity? If so, you’re probably in the majority.   If you follow Jesus or you’re thinking about it, you may be curious what he had to say. Did Jesus ever talk about Hell? If so, what did Jesus say about Hell? Who is the church for? Why does the church exist?
Who is the church for? Why does the church exist?
#thechurch #whatischurch #whoischurchfor #christians #churchlife    Have you ever walked into the wrong bathroom?  You take two steps in and you instantly know you're in the wrong place. That bathroom was not made for you. Either it has a couch or it has urinals and either one seems completely useless to you.  That's fair because that bathroom wasn't designed with you in mind. It was made for someone else.  Sometimes church can feel like that.  You walk in and you instantly feel out of place. Like everyone else knows something you don't know. It's an unsettling feeling and much like accidentally entering the wrong bathroom, all you want to do is get out and never re-enter.  At Redemption, we can't have that. So we exist for them - the people who don't feel comfortable at church, the ones who don't know the worship songs or the typical order of a worship service. Redemption exists for them for the sake of Jesus. Find out what we mean by that this week and next in our "For Them" series.

Anchored Deep - What to do when I feel like quitting
Is life giving you lemons? If you’re anything like me, you’d rather throw the lemons away than make lemonade sometimes. Do you feel like quitting? We all have a breaking point. This feeling of hopelessness transcends culture and time. So what do we do when we feel like quitting? When the walls are crashing in and we are at the end of our rope? Let’s talk about it today.

To follow Jesus is to swim upstream against many cultural norms. In a world that screams 'me first', followers of Jesus say 'after you'. In a world where we're taught to grab whatever we can, followers of Jesus give as much as they can. In a world where strangers are feared, followers of Jesus extend hospitality. Tune in to hear more about how Redemption seeks to live out this counter-cultural mission as a church family. Join an impact team.

To simplify means to say "no" to the things that are less important in order to make space for things that are essential.   Where can you say "no" to things requiring your time to make room for things that are essential?

Unity | Week 1 with Cory Ball
Unity | Week 1 with Cory Ball
Is the Church unified? How have we (the global Church and the local church) fought for unity this year? Where have we failed? Jesus' prayer (what he asked his Father for) was for unity in the church. That was top of mind for him. He must have known that would be a challenge for us. As we get through the election and wrap up one of the strangest years in recent history, we're diving into a series on Unity and looking at what the Bible can teach us about being unified. Wherever you're joining us, invite a friend. The world could benefit from a little more unity in the church, don't you think?

A New Heart - Week 4 with Cory Ball
In this week's message Lead Pastor Cory Ball dives into a promise made my God that was finally fulfilled after more than 600 years. If you are waiting on God, take heart that you haven't been waiting that long. But know that God who makes promises always keeps promises. As we'll learn this week, the power of a promise is in its fulfillment, not in its commitment.

A New Heart - Week 3 with Cory Ball
We love new things. We want new sneakers, a new friend, a new car. We are attracted to shiny and new. Thousands of years ago God told two prophets, Ezekiel and Jeremiah, that he would one day give those who followed him a new heart. Something shiny and new. God promised that he would change us from the inside out. He promised that he would write his law on our hearts and that we would be made totally new. That promise sat for a while, untouched for thousands of years... Until Jesus arrived, and everything changed.    In this series, A New Heart we are looking at what happened from the garden to the cross in God's plan of redeeming all who follow him.

A Third Way - Week 3 with Cory Ball | Race Relations in Eternity
A Third Way - Week 3 with Cory Ball | Race Relations in Eternity
This week’s message in the Third Way series covers God’s eternal plan for diversity and how it will be fulfilled. We’ll talk about our role in fulfilling God’s plan of filling heaven with a diverse group of people. In this three-week series, we will specifically confront the issue of race relations through the Third Way of Jesus. What's the Third Way of Jesus? Well, Jesus was often approached with a problem and he was presented with two solutions. The people of Jesus' day would ask him, "Jesus, are you for *this* or *that*?" But instead, Jesus would often reject the dichotomy and present the third way that those people knew nothing about. (For an example, see Mark 12:13-17) In the series the Third Way, we will work to uncover the Third Way of Jesus as it pertains to today's conversation around race relations. Our goal is to come out on the other side of this series more unified than before by understanding Jesus and his teachings more fully. This is a series you won't want to miss.
